@PenguinMP44 have you played sh2 before? it's not prudent to stop and fight every monster. there's very little ammunition in the game and using melee weapons is too dangerous. it's safer and faster to run from most of the monsters. this isn't resident evil, after all.

@XJamxBerryX: In the "Rebirth" ending he has the body at hand and in the "In Water" ending it suggests he committed suicide with Mary in the car.

Although the "Leave" ending suggests Mary wasn't in the trunk because it'd be pretty fucked up taking care of a kid with her mother figure dead in your trunk...

So it depends on the ending.

Hate to tell you guys, but silent hill isn't in an alternate dimension...

The town is imbued with a mystical power. The cult from the 1st/3rd games have perverted said power. Thus all the "monsters" in the game are the result of the towns power and the psyche of the individual. That's why Laura doesn't see monsters at all, her being innocent and all.

This game is indeed full of symbolism, and that's why it's so scarying and interesting in the same way.

So I'm guessing there's an implication that he's either 1) already dead or 2) He's being shown parts of himself that are dying based on his discoveries of these repressed thoughts.

If it a parallel dimension existing within a multiverse then all it would do is cause radiation and wipe out the physical structures such as buildings. Who knows if that would do even a speck of damage to the other world. The benefit is it would stop people from going there, but if you pay attention to the series silent hill becomes more powerful and reaches far away places like Ashfield in SH4: The Room.
