didnt know of her till i saw her fantastique performance with michael macdonald. i personally think the reason why she's not a big big star is the choice of songs. she should have gone with a more rythm and blues sound and not those sugary songs of the 80s and 90s. that performance with mr macdonald! see what i mean!!!!!!

Not to take anything away from Wendy cause I can get into her but Whitney (BACK IN THE DAY) had that pure power and clarity no other artist ever had and could do it effortlessly. I am big Wendy Moten's fan from Argentina, too. Her best ballad Come on in out of the Rain was played as background music on the kid's show Grande Pa back in the early 1990's, remember? Too bad we didn't hear from her ever since but I got her first album from Amazon thanks to the internet!

I first heard Wendy Moten on a compilation CD I got hold of a few weeks ago. How is it that someone who sounds so much like Whitney Houston - who has an utterly astounding voice - is so unknown here in the U.K.

Maybe it's because although her voice is comparable to Whitney's her songs are not. I don't mean this offensively, but of all the songs of Wendy's I've so far heard here on YouTube they're all pretty forgettable. A great shame really.

On the high F-Gb-Ab belts ("Ve-ry clo-") just before the beginning of the Db major section, dear Wendy is singing just under pitch; my guess is that she took a "low" breath, and so was incorrectly set-up for the belt.

Wendy is clearly singing in #C with an undertone of "middle C". This is obvious to anybody who knows music.

The first verse began on an Ab11 chord but advances to a Ab17 (sus 21) chord before the chorus.

When Wendy reaches the chorus, there is a shift in key (DS negative, I think) which indicates to me that Wendy sang "Ve-ry clo-" on the correct octave whilst maintaining the right frequency.

there is absolutely nothing wrong with that run. wendy is running up a very short scale, in time to the music; thus adding a dramatic vocal reading to the presentation of the song. others would have just flipped the note up to falsetto. Wendy has a vibrado that she controls very well. she is a damn good vocalist and is much in demand as a session vocalist as well. so pitch is not her problem. this woman can sang!!! sing along if you still don't understand.
