@CramItSideways Slightly strained ankle? Nope. The guy was in a wheelchair for a while afterwards with what were termed as "gruesome" injuries to both legs. He did completely recover, though.
A typical Indy oval accident sadly.... Davy Hamilton, Kenny Brack, Ryan Briscoe - I could go on. "Pack" racing IS far too dangerous for open wheeled cars and unfortunately an accident like this will happen again and again. And both the IRL and Champ Car are crap.
hes a coool guy...my freind is a mechanic on his team. he is in the operating room his feet are shattered .but he is alright they are gona bring him to iindiana
The IRL needs to go away. The cars are way too dangerous, most of the drivers are average at best and those in the IPoS are terrible, and the pack racing just makes it 100X's worse.
Dude some of the best drivers to come out of karting and other formulas are racing this so you DEFINATELY can't say the drivers are terrible. Open wheel oval racing is dumb but RACING COSTS money and for many of the drivers it was the only series they could get enough sponsorship for so get some knowledge before you speak.
name me 1 driver who is good in the IPS. No champion of the IPS has gone on to do anything, and those that did go to the Indy Cars crashed out every race. Most the drivers of the Mindy Cars are has beens of CART.
Obviously on an oval the team youre with means alot... you wont be fast in IPS no matter how good you are unless you have good equipment and knowledgeable people working with you. Guys like Robbie Pecorari Dominated in karting, won numerous races in star mazda '05, won in atlantic last year with a midpack team, mike potkhenen won 2 star mazda races last year, and I could go on. Just face it, there's talented racers in IPS but it's unfortunate because people like robbie didn't have a choice..
OMG he's in the little bit of the survival cabin and all of the cars start to slide to dodge him.

crappy cars....compare it with the BMW F1 crash in Canada and then think that Kubica just walked away.....not like this poor fella
pakkinen 4 years ago
Kubica didn't hit any fencing either nor was going as fast as these guys...

Totally different type of impact, pakkinen. Haven't heard anything about Perez since those horrible leg injuries he suffered. I hope he's doing well.

Do not blame Open Well, blame Indy, cuz, nor even in F1 there´s as many safety holes as in Indy has.

Open wheel cars are completely unsuitable for pack racing. The IRL will kill this sport yet.
