  • There is a difference between belief in God "or whatever being you follow" and a belief in the Bible and organized religion. God takes faith in a particular framework that cannot be scientifically proven. Organized religion and the texts that spawn from those religions on the other hand were created by man and therefore are flawed. All religions have their own agenda's since the people that created them also have their agendas which bleed over into the things they created.

  • You cannot say the same for God "or whatever spiritual path or being you believe in" since these beings are the only things untouched by humanity. So with that, by all means have faith in your path or higher power. Don't let it be touched or clouded by humanity and its flaws....

  • Nothing more dangerous than an ugly mob of deluded fundie fanatics.

  • I went on a team last year and believe that this was the best experience of my life. I am going back next year and anyone who thinks that it is a negative thing in any way should try it and see for themselves!

  • i <3 the slough went on the amazon river team this year fell in every day i consider it my own personal ac unit following me around all day

  • Why would god bless America ? A country that kills brown people for oil and lets his own people die because they have no money, I don't remember Jesus telling the people things like "Don't help the poor, if they're poor it's because they're to lazy to work so fuck'em" Capitalism is the exact opposite of Christianity.

  • My parents sent me here in 2003. I was forced to force god down the throats of random passerby's. It was an irritating, uncomfortable experience. I rarely spoke to anyone who cared what I had to say. Call it what you will, but denying that this approach to sharing one's beliefs is wrong is just delusional. You should BE the change you want to see in the world. Live it, and people may follow your example. Being an overbearing stranger doesn't do shit.

  • i am going 2 go on one of these trips someday. and please dont judge that girl.u cant read her mind. u dont know whats in her heart.

  • wat does it hurt? if it makes people want to be kind and to do all those things we do, wat does it matter?

  • I watched this special with my Mom and while I am a religious person, this is not my idea of spreading the word. You can't make anyone believe anything. Yes, it's fine to ask people to come to church with you and to attend church-related stuff with you, but once you start forcing your views down people's throats, that's when you've crossed the line. God doesn't force himself on anyone, so why should you?

  • The difference is that I don't corner people who don't want to hear about my raise and keep forcing it down their throat. I don't imply that they have a worse fate than me because I have a raise and they don't.

If you think it's such good news, then say "Yay! I'm a Christian and I love it!" and then SHUT THE HELL UP and stop forcing the issue.

But you know it's not about sharing. It's about scoring brownie points with God and your peers. It's about proving superiority to non-Christians.

  • Can you imagine how completely freaked out and angry the Christians would get if there was a place called "Atheist Boot Camp" where they *aggressively* taught kids to convert religious people to atheism and understand the false, mythical nature of their faith?

They'd scream about being persecuted and do everything they could to get it shut down.

  • What is a "whaite," and you hope you get 2 what? Two Kenyans? Slavery is illegal you know. :P

  • This is a great idea, wish I had something like this when I was a kid. Keep believing, keep fighting the good fight!!!!And keep your faith in God alive....

  • Just watched the whole thing. Billy Grahm's Grandson summed up the xtian philosophy perfectly. It's not about building peoples homes or feeding them. It's all about the conversion. Turn your back on your stupid religion, and follow ours. We are xtians and we have food and clothing. What have your gods done for you. Oh, and get them while their young. The whole thing is disgusting. It's not "Jesus Camp" bad, but it's not to far off. Nothing but child abuse here.

  • He is Lord, He is Lord.

He has risen from the dead

    And He is Lord.

    Every knee shall bow,

    Every tongue confess

    That Jesus Christ is Lord.

  • Jesus is pain Jesus is gore Jesus is the blood That's spilled in war He's everything He's all things dead He's pulling on the trigger Pointed at your head Through fear you're sold into the fraud Revelation revolution I see through your Christ Illusion
  • There is no fuckin' Jesus Christ

    There never was a sacrifice

    No man upon the crucifix

    Beware the cult of purity

    Infectious inbecility

I've made my choice. Six six six

  • so you don't think it could be an act of God?

  • When doubt subsides his honesty, An inquiry, is it blasphemy? Impure the soul, that's made to suffer, No sermons left to hide or cover, An empty promise, lie unfulfilled, To steal a dream or get it killed. They claim your trip to heavens nearby, You may believe it but Satan wouldn't lie.

  • read the Bible and then decide for yourself. because there is nothing any one person can say or do that will change your mind. it's all up to God to draw you near.

  • well duh its misinterpretted. thats how they get ratings. and beond the point of just flat ou saying there is no god and there isnt, the new tesatment was written thousands of years ago by varoius christian secs parts were added, deleted, altered, never mentioned. imagine the look on christ loving peoples faces if they knew of the homosexual messages high priest kept out of thebible and hundreds of other messages. So believing in such a falsified document is stupid and naive. lol blind faith.

  • you're right, i do have blind faith. but i have a hope in my faith. it's a hope that is beyond what the word hope means. it's not something that can be explained because it's unexplainable. the Bible is inerrant, and because it's inerrant, i can put my belief in a God that chooses to not force me to believe in Him, but draws me close to him. if i could see Him in all His glory, i would probably fall on my face in fear. thats why he sent His only Son in the form of a man. to draw us near.

  • The target's Fucking Jesus Christ I would've lead the sacrifice And nailed him to the crucifix Beware the cult of purity Infectious imbecility I've made my choice. Six six six

  • In your mind's eye could you truly believe, That by giving you can save your soul, Could you be so naive! You heal the sick,[you] raise the dead, You blind the congregation With the things you say. Religious blackmail a deceit of trust, That death will come and all will be lost. Can you hear the serpents call, Look deep in those deceiving eyes. Ignore the writing on the wall, You should read between the lies.

  • You say you'll help us find the lord, Tell me preacher how do you know A simple quest for a insimple savior, To lead us through our final prayer. Save me. Send your donations, Contribute to the cause. Luxuries, Your righteous reward? Praise the lord, praise god, Is what you wish to sell. There is no heaven without a hell.

  • Evangelist you claim God speaks through you, Your restless mouth full of lies gains popularity. You care not for the old that suffer, When empty pockets cry from hunger. Penniless from their generosity, Sharing their money to quench your greed. Searching for the answer to their prayers. They cry their one last wish of need. Save me. His spirit lives and breathes in me. The almighty transformed to your screen. The meanings lost in its translation, No holy words, describe his deception.

  • i watched this and i was really scared for these children...this is exactly what hitler did to get people to due what he wanted.

  • Oh really? So Hitler encouraged children to go help others in need? I must have missed that section of the history book. I always thought Hitler was about killing people of other races, not helping them. You're scared for these children because they are doing what they believe is right and they have a desire to show love and help others? I'm scared for you because of your intolerance and because you don't even understand the differences between this situation and Nazi Germany. Wow, you scare me.

  • That is ridiculous and ignorant. For one, I am a history major in college and Hitler FORCED the people to read his materials and do as he said. And second, I went to this bootcamp two years ago, was NOT forced by anyone to do anything, had the time of my life and never felt closer to God. Think before you say things like that, things that are hurtful and WRONG!

  • I think it's funny how so many people consider themselves open-minded and tolerant except when confronted with an opinion that they disagree with. So these girls believe in something. So what? What harm is that to you? They've done nothing wrong. They haven't hurt anyone. The people they talk to don't have to listen and they can choose to believe what they say or not. I'm sorry, but if you're offended by this, move on and get over it. No one really cares when christians are offended.

  • I feel the Christian people have lost their way. There has been so much harm done in the name of god. for years I have felt lead to start a "church" based on helping others in your own community a not based on a book 2000 years old. But how do you do that not be labeled as some "Jim Jones" type?

  • You cannot have a Christian church without the Bible. The whole base for Christian religion is the Bible. God absolutely wants us to help other people and some Christians have lost their way when it comes to that. However, it is the Bible that gives us the foundation to believe that everyone is worth helping, Christian or not, and that everything is possible through Christ.

  • Well if I'm going to hell then I hope the flames tickle my ass as I am going down there!

  • They don't decide, God does.

  • there was one girl in this program named nicole she has a drug problem and thought that the lord's boot camp could help. at the of their time spent in boot camp they light candles to set up their to africa. she was not about to light it but then she realized those children in africa need her help.i personally don't believe in god or jesus. but i do believe that we as a people have forgotten what our heart and hands are for. Hearts to recognize those in need Hands: to perform the action.

  • Good stuff. Keep up the great work!

  • I went to Zambia on a TMI trip two weeks before Loki Films came to film another Zambia team. Other than the places and settings, not much is familiar. It seems many of the scenes were taken out of context. Rather than "brainwashing," TMI taught me to think objectively about my faith.

Also, the average age of my team was around 16. We even had 2 college students. If we are old enough to drive, vote, register for the draft, and buy tobacco, I think we can choose our beliefs as well.

  • This is the scariest shit I've seen since Jesus Camp. And it's from the same directors...and they made it for the sake of exposing it for what it is...I'm hoping this is the same.

Spreading the indoctrination of that hateful religion is horrible...so is any other religion doing the same.

    this is disgusting.

  • "Have you heard about this guy named Jesus?"

    Yes. He's my gardener.

  • 2:03 "Going to have a heart attack, we need to get in there and save them." My goodness, a little Tom Cruise in the making. She scares me with her bluntness "We're all going to die."

  • i think she comes on very strong... somebody i know was one of the leaders that year and she told me that they picked the most outspoken girls at the camp. people don't want to see the quiet, servants heart that may have a plain looking face. people want to see the rebel, the loud, the pretty... i can't judge these girls hearts, i wasn't there. but i think that this show did quite a bit of misrepresentation.

  • Same can be said about sports or any large group. But because this is about religion then people want to look down on it. What does it hurt to teach kids peace and love? I am not religious and don't care for it either but it is not hurting anything for these kids to care about people.

  • Oh great, here we go comparing Christians to being brainwashed by Hitler.

Yeah, these dumb little children helping and loving kids in Africa..and spreading the Gospel, that evil Gospel that tells humans everywhere that God loves them.

    It must be Bush's fault.

  • The indoctrination reminds me of Germany in the 30s.

These kids don't even have the skills yet to know whta they want, how can they commit to anything, let alone this.
