Im sorry but is it normal to lunge a yearling in America then? Over here nobody in their right mind would lunge a yearling until at least three! If you did someone would phone the RSPCA, its to much for such young joints.
In America the American Quarter Horse Association, American Paint Horse Association, American Pinto Horse Club, and the Appaloosa Horse Club all offer yearling lunge line classes at shows.
my apha filly is 5 months old and we started getting her used to the longe line when she was 4 months, and was weaned at 3 1/2 months we lunge her for five minutes both ways everyday.....
