I agree - they removed exploration that existed on prievous one's , less companion characters involved and ending were trully "awesome" made me laugh what nosense they did , thats obviously EA influence on this part since they can change everything what goes in game.
star wars knights of the old republic 1 and 2, Jade Empire, Dragon Age 1, and 2. Both Mass effects. All bioware RPGs like this from Bioware. You just need to go get an xbox or buy Star wars and Jade Empire off steam for your PC. Maybe older but great games!
i know that the exploration with the Mako was cool, but I like this ME more. It felt like it had more dialogue and this were happening all the time and, i don't know, it made me feel restless and on edge all the game..I think that the "exploration" for resources and secondary missions was better quicker and also more entertaining in this one ^^ but is just my opinion..this coming from a Rpg-fan
Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which has electronic music inspired by great games such as Mass Effect. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
This game was fun, but I still love the first more. I'm not a fan of how Bioware has been "Streamlining" the combat and inventory systems in their games.
@ContortedWhisk For Mass Effect was a huge evolution because ME was actually a shooter with RPG mechanics, and ME2 has almost no RPG mechanics, there is the diferrent.. and the fact that the story in ME>ME2 but they still made it count.. my point is, its was actually a lot improved
@Paperkut16 ME2 improved on graphics, but they crippled their combat when they removed armor and weapon customization. They improved the graphics, but the story didn't flow nearly as naturally as it did the first game. You we basically being told you we're going to be dealing with impossible odds and were not likely to succeed the entire game.
Whereas in the first game you were uncovering a conspiracy that nobody believed in and in the end had to essentially go rogue to stop Saren.
@ContortedWhisk i actually enjoyed both stories, liked actually more in ME, but ME2 still satisfying.. now since actually there wasnt that much change in gameplay, because ME its still a shooter, no matter how much RPG you have in it, and ME2 feels more solid.. still i like the graphics in both, the thing is both of games are priceless, and we enjoy that much :D ME3 cant w8
@Paperkut16 As a shooter, this game doesn't stand on it's on. The cover system is broken, the ally a.i. is idiotic and the inability to turn off aim-assist can be detrimental on the harder difficulties when trying to hit a moving target that's out of cover.
I play these games as RPGs first and foremost. Without customization they lose a layer of depth to the strategy involved in combat. I beat both games on Insanity, I just value the experience from the first more. :)
@ContortedWhisk I'm guessing you played on consoles? I seem to remember being able to turn autoaim off (Might be wrong though. Maybe I'm confusing myself with 1), and I always though the allies were pretty damn useful, ESPECIALLY on Insanity as a Sentinel. Still, I will agree, the Combat wasn't all that good.
@ContortedWhisk ME2 Combat was far superior to ME1 but I will definately agree that the story was better in 1, you were driven, uncovering new aspects of the story as you went along, totally in the dark. In the 2nd game you get hand fed a little bit, you always know what to expect because the illusive man pretty much tells you everything you'll encounter. Still an epic story, but more driven by your own choices, whereas in 1 the story is set in stone.
I'm there again... tingles shooting down my back... GAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH *BWOOOP* DIIIIEEEEEEEE DAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAKA COVERING!!! *BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM* I am assuming direct control of this form NOT TODAY!!! *Schwing* *bbwwwwwwooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOBLEEPBLEEPBLEEP* *FUMP SSSCCHHEEWWWWW....* *KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMNSPLUSH*
I have got to say, this is one of the best games(if not the best game) I have played. I have gone through the game probably ten times and the ending always feels epic.
@KlosterKatt they need to keep doing mass effect games, none of these including dragon age is enjoyable for me as mass effect games, the worst news I heared is that mass effect series ends with ME3 :(
star wars knights of the old republic 1 and 2, Jade Empire, Dragon Age 1, and 2. Both Mass effects. All bioware RPGs like this from Bioware. You just need to go get an xbox or buy Star wars and Jade Empire off steam for your PC. Maybe older but great games!
@Tearlesscoconul i suggest playing The Knights of the Old Republic beats the new films easily. i like the clonewars period but it's over done while the time before the rise of the galactic empire is under done. I would love to see a movie set around Revan's time when jedi/ sith knew how to actualy weild the force
Try keeping the volume on this to somewhere between 1/3-1/2 until about 1:30, bringing it to 1/2. Then when it gets to about 1:48 have -everything- up to full. For me, I got chills like it was the first time all over again.
@ELFoglalt17 the boss was a bit of a let down. By the time I got to the boss battle, everything was as ironed out as could be so taking out one guy from secure position was..easy
@ELFoglalt17 I wish I could get the chance to play this again for the first time. Getting the "No one left behind" achievement on my first shot is probably one of the best experiences I've ever had in gaming.
@ELFoglalt17 Haha well done :D i lost Jack and Garrus initialy while starting Suicide Run... ! lost Samsara by holding up her shield, half of my crew got crippled while i neded to look them and then Miranda turned mad on me and had a dispute with that Jacob guy, which resulted in her death....!
@bipbophil because if you did every possible combination then you would've noticed people dying, otherwise you're not playing ME2, what would be the point in having all these different storylines and decisions if when you did them in every possible combination you get the same result?
@smeghead666 i did every quest and gained loyalty of my whole crew and bought all upgrades for the ship thts how they dont die and im not slow at the parts where the the characters life is timed
@ineedafkinusername i had no blue bar (forgot name) no trust an no ship upgrades :P lost 4 people on the way, the ground team and the rest inbetween. i think theres a vid on youtube showing the sequence of everyone dead.
It won't load your character up, confirmed in an IGN interview that if your character died in ME2 then you can't load it up for ME3 unless you've passed the final mission without dieing.
BTW...
Mass Effect 2 > Mass Effect 3
Sad but true.... ( from my point of view )
