That's funny that you think country singers tend to have the same voice quality - there maybe be two that sound alike but for the most part they are recognizable for me - it would be difficult for me to tell rockers apart because I don't really know them or the songs - Jamie and Carrie's voices really compliment each other here

I hunch, if you were pair them together today with this song. I think Carrie probably would probably outdo Jamie, remember this first time as full fledge country singer and debut, she said could have done better, if she wasn't so nervous, but she did excellent job.

if you remember this was Carrie's coming out after winning Idol and she said after doing this she was very nervous, performing someone's else song, even though this genre. plus all country veterans that were there. Give her credit, she did excellent job, lot better than lot of people just as nervous.

I think it's all what someone prefers - I prefer Carrie's and Jamie's version because I like their voice quality better than the other versions - the duet itself is amazing they sound terrific together and yes, this was May or June 2005, if they were to do the duet today it would be even better. CMT actually put it into their daily video rotation because they thought it was that good and it is the most streamed live performance video on the CMT website
