I do this with screwdrivers at work. I work alone, so I have developed a very good knack at using things like lag bolts, nails, screwdrivers and sawzall blades in order to defend myself in case someone wants to try to pirate the shop. It's a good skill to know, and yes the goal is to stop or incapacitate in a dire situation, not to kill for fun. But, like said, if stopping the target involves killing, then I believe kill or be killed. For there is no mercy in love and war.

I buy the 10" tent nails for $2.00 at MENARD'S here and then sharpen the tips on a grinder, and practice on an oak stump in my backyard. I can't do the 'no-spin' technique yet but my spin is finally consistent so not too worried about that. :)

This was a lot of fun to do. I really had a blast. I think in the future I would like to try to get a few more of these and really take the time to sharpen them nicely and also polish them up to a very high shine. Maybe even some more engraving? Who knows?
