@jessicaborgnis I was just thinking that.. I thought that it sounded different, and then I realized that there were four beats a measure! I guess it must be done to fit that Latin style...
It's actually in 8, if you see in the description of the video, it says this is a latin version, it has more like a samba/salsa rythm, which are in 8 most of the type..so not the typical take 5 ;)
this is purely amazing! i play the french horn and will never be this good...but i DO play jazz on piano or guitar, and this is a great jazz piece. i'm lovin it in 4/4!! and that would be because it is the LATIN VERSION, not because they can't count to five!! artistic liberty means nothing these days....:P
Our jazz band has a horn as well, it's really cool. This thing isn't used in jazz nearly enough, it has a really cool sound to rival any jazz instrument.
I wasnt there to see this in person .6 THUMBS DOWN!!! xD

Wow, you should rename this one "Take Eight". What a horrible way to mess up a great five-beat song.

@brycycle8 Because they can't count to 5. Dave Brubeck would be disappointed.

This is the coolest version of Take Five I've ever heard. The latin style fits surprisingly well, and I wish I could improvise like that! :)

bloody brilliant. i always thought the horn was absolutely no jazz instrument. but this is amazing.

Nope, even Miles Davis included horn in some of his stuff. Check out Julius Watkins and Tom Varner for some excellent solo jazz horn stuff too.
