Thank you so much for all the videos, Pebber! I learned more on one day watching your videos, than in my last 10 years. I am so glad that I found your channel on the web. the is so much bullshit on the internet.. that makes me even mor ethankfull for your island of knowledge! :) Your Sarod Style is really awesome, but I have problem with a slippery pick ( isweat alot) and with the volumne of my strokes. but i keep working on it :) its funny that django uses this style too! :)
I know that you are very busy, and that I have already requested a lesson from you in a personal message, but if I were to upload a video of my picking technique, would you watch it and critique me? I have been working at the sarod style a lot recently and I can play with a lot of accuracy, but I cant seem to get the kind of speed I want. Thanks..
Thank you Pebber! I play in the way the fingers are touching the body, and I always wondered if I could still do Sarod as opposed to alternate picking with the fingers out.
hey pebber is MI a good school for musical education? some people I have talked to said it was great and others have said it was a waste? can you help please? thanks man.
Currently experimenting with SAROD (which is oddly the same technique I used when I first picked up the instrument 20 years ago but was told it was wrong), and I'm having some encouraging results. As I said, alt-picking/string-transitioning with SAROD is much easier, I'm just having trouble getting it fast and clean, hey, maybe I can have multiple picking techniques? I like the 3-fingered index because it allows for alot of power and control, fast downpicking, but string transitions are tough.
My technique is somewhere between James Hetfield's and Steve Morse, (3-fingered index), but SAROD allows for a much easier transition while alternate picking and shifting from one string to another, as you're lifting the pick up on it's way to the string you're transitioning to, meaning that you will clear the one you're on. I've spent the last 5 years working on my technique, and I'm not done yet. It's a bitch.
Hey Pebber, you´re an excellent teacher and i´ve been watching these videos for a long time, I have a problem keeping my wrist relaxed and would like to know if you would have some time for online lessons or something like that. It would really mean a lot for me. And about that dvd-post I saw when I read the comments above, is it possible to get a dvd from you? Great videos, you´re one of the best!
Thanks a lot - DVD's are in pre production right now - maybe some more YouTube videos will be available pretty soon. Shoot me an email so I can send propaganda on my DVD'.s
It's good to see someone with the experience you have giving great lessons for free and thank you for that. Most of the guys around my parts are kinda stingy and think about the money before anything. Keep em comming chief.
I watched your picking vids and tomorrow I'm gonna start practicing. Practicing a lot. Thanks for the awesome lessons. You are a great teacher and I'm glad you put those lessons up. Peace
I've been practicing the sarod picking technique and have made huge leaps in my playing. I'm more relaxed and I'm able to articulate each note better. Pebber, you're an incredible teacher. Just the fact that you take time out of your busy schedule to answer your emails and post these clips says a lot about your integrity as a teacher. Thanks, man! These lessons are a big help! You rock!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I've been practicing my picking for a couple years(using a metronome). I've noticed an increase in my speed and accuracy, but I was still struggling to find a consistant way to pick. This is a BIG help!!!
Not "pepper" its Pebber spell it correctly please.
Ahh Stairway stuff - Page doesnt want anyone showing accurate TABS onoine or anwhere unless he gets a large cut of the revenue. I got slammed by his people.
can find me and do something to me legally whereas most of those other guys are difficult to squeeze. Anyway I have a career and a huge recording studio and I dont need a lawsuit right now - those lawyers COST a fortune...
Should the angles that the pick hits the string be the same on the upstroke and downstroke? When I've been practicing, the downstroke hits the string at more of a parallel-to-the-string angle (not entirely parallel though) and when I come back up for the upstroke the angle is a bit bigger. Also should I sit "casual" style or "classical" style? Maybe you could do a video discussing the two. Well thanks for the advice, it's pretty helpful.
hi again pebber ... how can i build more speed on struming on just 1 string ... i practice like 5 min every time i get to my guitar now i lost some of my rigidity on picking ,, but i lost the speed a bit ,, any suggestion ?
I put these videos up here less than 6 hours ago so you cant possibly tell me you are having problems. You have not even begun to start practicing. What you think is practicing is barely a blink in the eye of the cosmos. Try these techniques for 6 months solid and work them - dig in hard - dont be a wimp practice hard at least 2 hours a day MINIMUM - then tell me that doesnt fix it.
5 minutes? you cant except to improve if you play for 5 minutes, playing for 5 minutes is like if your really busy and your just picking up your guitar so you dont lose your skill, practice for a few hours. like i did, ask your guitar teacher to come up with a little tremolo picking riff for you to practice, or find a song you like that has tremolo picking in it and practice it
Hey Pebber Thanks For The Vids After 17 Years Of Playing Finally Someone Who I can Understand. Thanks for the jumpstart. Just What I Needed..

yeah why me? There are TONS of guys who put up
