101 and has all her hair hehe <3 she seems so energetic for her age :) bet she lived a good life an might still do thanks to the girls and theyre sanshin :3
I understand. But if Yoron is a part of Amami, why are these girls playing Okinawa style Sanshin with Okinawa bachi instead of Amami style sanshin (yellow strings, and bamboo pick)?
a good example how humans can be humble, warm hearted, caring, giving respect... it gives hope in this world of brutality, cruciality, violence too often we forget, that a human can be of good character... another message of this clip: politicans (and power people/elite) should take it as an example how generations can live together in harmony, learn from each other and not to forget... laugh and enjoy life...
I found this video quite scary... it reminded me of the scene in the Kung Fu Hussle with the two 'blue brothers' ... lol I love Okinawan music and culture, the world could learn so much from their approach to life, happiness and living. Get the US bases off the island and let them keep their traditions.
You are right, The Okinawan Language us hard XD, And i am japanese too!
Singer in four bands, I am making a new one, if anyone is interested in being in the new Vk band coming into thw world soon please message me!!, My english is bad sometimes! XD
Impressive the difference between the subtitles in normalized Japanese and the Japanese that the girl speaks in. I didn't know that uchinaaguchi were so different from nihongo.
It really moved me! I know well what it means... There's nothing better than to see the happiness of an elder person listening to the sound of sanshin... It is priceless to play sanshin for an elder. Their happiness is truly genuine and pure.
Sanshin, for us Okinawan descendents, touches our spirit. This video encouraged me to keep on doing my best to improve my sanshin skills.
Thank you very much. It was the first time I heard Amami minyou.

I showed this to my mother and she cried. My grandmother used to sing this song to her as a child. They are from Tsuken Jima. Thanks for the video.

Very heart warming.
I think Okinawa is one of the greatest culture of Japan, and Japanese people should cherish Okinawa much more!

I've heard that Yonaguni dialect is even more different. Even "mainland" Okinawans can't understand it.
