  • am i the only one that noticed that was the same language her and ethel used in women from mars episode where they get paid to do a publicity stunt?

  • @1firstbro1 "That's a moo moo" lol

  • Enga ooten bloc tung vein zeegotz ung deitz. En fluk en deitz.

  • she is SO funny!!!!

  • Isn't there another show that's exactly like this from that time period?

  • Love the way a true gentlemen stands up when the woman approaches the panel. Classy.

  • Ironic that she promotes the Heart Fund, when she herself died from heart troubles. She was one of the best, and is missed.

  • every time she was on this show she was asked if she was a man

  • @nnothin2dobututube lol I was just about to post that, then I saw your comment! And I love her face every time they ask! :P

  • Oh, Lucy, you so silly!

  • I just LOVE that jacket she is wearing!

  • Such a GREAT show ...xooxoo

  • Lucy has beautiful handwriting. And she was a classy lady. Loved her whether she was doing I Love Lucy, The Lucy Show, or Here`s Lucy

  • "...eets a moo moo."

  • i love lucy!! jajajaja

  • I love Lucy to death, but I've never seen her milk a joke past its expiration date like she did with this gag. It stopped being funny after the first time she "spoke Martian". Not so funny for the next 8 minutes.

  • @Peppi94 You need a sense of humor transplant. Guess you don't find her show funny either.

  • @PetraKenobi I've probably Loved Lucy more years than you. I know everything she did, and watched all her Lucy shows from day one. As I said, I love her to death, but this one "bit" wasn't funny, and wasn't worth her talent. Don't make snotty comments about a lack of a sense of humour. Grow one yourself.

  • @Peppi94 I understand you didn't like the length of "the bit" but, What's My Line is a game show not a comedy act. So my question is, what else would you've liked her to do? If you haven't seen this show before, she can't really talk normally. Most people try to disguise their voices by talking nasally or things like that but, Lucy's idea is more original. And she's not supposed to change her answer pattern once she starts. It's not really her fault it took them so long to guess her correctly.

  • @xHeavyMetalPapillonx I wasn't familiar with the rule that the mystery guests had to stick with the answer pattern. That explains it. I just found it very unusual and a bit tiresome for her to keep stringing along that one "bit", To your question, what else would I have liked her to do, I guess I was looking for a bit of variety in her responses, like the time she was on with Desi, and they changed back and forth. At any rate, thanks for explaining that rule.

  • @Peppi94 No problem. :)

  • @Peppi94 I know of no such rule. It was a creative suggestion, but it doesn't fit the facts. Roz Russell, Robert Wagner, Debbie Reynolds, etc., as mystery guests made all kinds of changes. No, I think Lucy stayed the same throughout because she was extraordinarily well-known. The "Martian talk," as Daly puts it, was a way to throw the panel off of concentrating on her voice. The panel was well-trained at "getting" voices and mystery guests had to be very clever to last long. She did well.

  • @romeman01 I'm at that age where I was old enough to remember the show, but too young to really know much about it, or make knowledgeable comments on it. You make a valid point about her attempt at "throwing off" the panel, rather than trying to be funny. My only comment here is that it wasn't funny after a while. But like you say, it wasn't only about the "funny".

  • @Peppi94 I remember Wally Bruner as the WML host very well, but I seriously doubt I ever saw John Daly as host. The major problem of the mystery guest was to deceive the panel. Danny Kaye did so by lying. Cesar Romero, Raquel Welch, Woody Allen, Ann Miller are very amusing guests who stumped the panel. Robert Q. Lewis called Lucy, in her segment on my channel with her husband Desi, "the world's greatest comedienne." It's really hard even to hope of stumping the panel if you're that famous.

  • Deborah Kerr looks amazing.

  • Lucille Ball was a genius.

  • Simlish in 1954... And THAT, my friends, is why Lucille Ball is one of the greatest comediennes ever.

  • too funny!! I laughed through the whole thing! Love her nodding yes/no to Mr. Daly, too cute! Fantastic to see Deborah Kerr on the panel as well! true legends!

  • Holy crap this aired on my dad's birthday...like the actual day he was born! So cool...I have to show this to him! :D

  • Now, THAT'S a signature! I love Lucy! :D <3

  • This aired on my birthday.... 28 years before I was born, but it is my birthday! I sure love my Lucy.

  • This is amazing for many reasons. For my part, I am thankful for people who upload FULL video of popular shows from the past; it is so amazing to get a glimpse back at what my parents must have watched when they were kids. Thank you so much.

  • The looks she gives the host, and reactions to the questions, are enough in my book to be more entertaining than anything out there today. Remarkable talent.

  • great vidio

  • I'm going to see the I Love Lucy play in LA in January!! SO excited!

  • what penmanship
