  • Great palying and lovely tone.

  • You can play Jazz with a surf guitar :-))

    Bravo!

  • Nice!

  • I was going to listen to about 10 seconds and move on. I listened to the whole thing. Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You hit the spot, man. Hit it so good.

  • What gauge strings do you use on your jag? Are they coated. Just wondering because of the amazing warm tone you have going

  • You couldn't ask for a better Jazz tone...great playing as well !

  • awesome

  • The BEST Fender Jaguar related piece on YouTube!

Beautiful tone and playing; exactly the emotive and expressive style of Jazz guitar work Fender had in mind when designing the Jazzmaster and Jaguar.

    A1 Sir!

Thanks for sharing and peace out.

  • Just awesome.

  • Hey I love the tone you get from your Jag! Are the pickups stock? And what kind of strings are you using?

  • hi there, i really love this tune, i am trying to learn it on my jazzmaster, however, i am no jazzmaster, haha, did you learn this from ear? would you be able to help me to learn this but naming the chords for me or something like that? I would really apreciate it!

  • I thought young Tarantino was playing.

    Bald and Jaguar.

Cool axe and nice playing, too.

  • Bald and Jaguar.

Cool axe and nice playing, too.

  • hey man you should make some lesson on youtube :D

  • Cool playing! One question: what are you using to loop your tracks while you do your solos?

  • I've heard tone is all in your fingers but having a good amp doesn't hurt, right? How do you get it so nice?

  • Wow! Amazing tone! Are those the stock pups? What amp are you running through?

  • I believe Joe Pass used to play on a Fender Jaguar aswell..

  • ok, I'll just hand up me guitars right now! lol

  • *hang

  • You've become an inspiration to my playing as a young guitar player. Love all of your video's and your style. Your expression is just fantastic.

  • hi I would love to know what song this is youre playing, ive been trying to learn more about this style of jazz lately

  • How do you get that tone? Its great!

  • shave that head.

  • Nice! Love it man!

  • Looks like you have a Fender amp chambered off and miked behind plexi. Secret weapon or my imagination?

  • Hei guy, I think this version's wonderfull. There is any chance to have a guitar pro or midi of this?

  • Lovely chops there dude. very impressed

  • great playing, and you look a bit like tarantino methinks.

  • dude i love ur playing.....great stuff, how long have you been playing for? you have a great feeling.....

  • these were designed for jazz in the first place unless I mistaken all it is is a shorter scale jaZZMASTER with regular single coils

  • @Caveira138 jazzmaster was made for jazz, but then surf groups started using (i.e. The Ventures). Fender saw this, and tried to capitalize on it by making the jag. similar body shape, but brighter sounding pickups, more chrome...to appeal to the younger crowd.

  • Beautiful tone, man - what amp are you using?

  • Very nice playing. I played a Jaguar for the first time a few weeks ago and was very surprised by how nice it was and how good it sounded for jazz. I always expected a Jazzmaster to sound better, but it does not.

  • It reminds me an old video of Joe Pass playing on A Fender Jaguar...

  • you're one of those guys that makes playing guitar look hard. My face doesn't go weird when i do a bend. I must be doing it wrong. Amazing guitar though.

  • Smooth. I really FELT this song.

Anyone know if you could get the same tone out of a MIJ-Jag? Are the pickups the same? Thinking of getting one..

  • hi, which guitar amp is used for that great interpretation?

    cheers

  • God, it's wonderfull! What is the name of this song?

  • beautiful love.

  • awesome sound and tune!

do you run the stock US pickups? Im looking at puting some aftermarket ones in my candy apple red jap reissue.

  • i've got 9 guitars including a jag, but i play gypsy jazz on every one of them. nobody said you can't play jazz on a jag.

But i prefer to play on my art en luthery-ami steel, it's a little parlor guitar, you should check it out. (y)

  • Really feeling it!! nice!! love your solo

  • This is just fantastic. And nobody who knows the Jag well would say you can't play jazz on it - Joe Pass himself played one quite a bit around the early 60's.

  • Wow, That made my morning a bit brighter! Thanks! PS: The Fender JAZZmaster has been used for surf for years, so why not

  • yes nice and smooth silky smooth.

  • beautiful tone, fantastic playing. great job man. i'm extremely jealous of both your guitar and playing.

  • I'm sure you can play jazz with a surf guitar since I saw a Joe Pass video with a Jag! :D

BTW, great tone and really good playin'! ;-)

  • My god that's a wonderful guitar. And great tune. Thank you.

  • es parecida a la de una gibson

  • Very nice. First time i heard this tune was was when Joe Pass played it.

  • really pretty

  • Nice Sound !!!

  • Fantastic!

  • Really good for jazz actually. Didn't think it could pull it off but yeah.

  • its rare ill sit through 4 minutes of someone random, AND comment. Excellent.

  • what's the track called

  • I almost cried!

  • Such a beautiful tone man =D

    Great Playing too.

  • Luke, I would just like to let you know that your playing and songs have actually influenced my playing style, and thank you for giving youtube such great music.

  • bendings in this song.. ? ;)

    anyway.. sounds realy great. realy!

  • great arrangement... did you arrange it yourself?

I listen to this all the time. Must have put a lot of work into it.

  • who wrote this ?

  • Didn't know a surf guitar could sound so great playing jazz! Lujem you any relation to Miley by the way (just kiddin)!

  • das ist ganz fantastisch, ganz bezaubernd, ich werde jetzt deine Interpretation für mein Gesangsprogramm verwenden, sei gegrüßt, M

  • Great playing and tone. Thanks for demonstrating that once again, any Fender guitar can get the job done.

  • Oh, so nice! This is how I'd like to play - sort of.

As a newcomer, it's seeming more and more that it's so much more the player rather than the instrument which determines the sound. Well, maybe the amp setting, too.

  • I want a tatb for this, what song is this?

  • i love the guitar and i love your playing. brilliant tone

  • woah, you this blew my mind!

i'm going to make it my task to watch every video on your channel

  • I wish I could play like that and I had a decent guitar like that. It sounds so wonderful.

  • What scale are you noodling around in at 1:20?

  • major pentatonic scale

  • Awesome! you got a real tone in your fingers. keep on.

  • @NeilFraudstrong

    Dude, Rogaine.

  • @NeilFraudstrong

Dalai Lama, Michael Jordan, James Taylor...

  • this is sick

  • i would sell my kidneys or liver for this guitar...i really would.this has been my dream guitar for over 14 years...it seems to me i'll have to wait another 20 years to be able to buy this beautiful guitar.love this guitar,it's tone is just amazing

  • wow

  • absolutely amazing tone and playing!

  • Great guitar, great player, great song.

  • i love that guitar, and you play it very good, loved the song

  • i'm still debating on either getting a classic or a HH model... i wanna get something w/ single coils, but the HH sounded great! i also couldn't find a classic a guitar center...

  • HH --- more nirvana sound

    Classic ---- more surf sound

  • ok cool thanks man

  • Oh my god, thats amazing, I love the music, and the guitar. :-)

  • Argh u cant decide wether to go witht he Gibbo SG with as it has the bridge i prefer or the fender jag for the pure beauty

  • beautiful playing and tone, man! Are you using flatwound strings on this?

  • No, I tried them, and of course they sound great, but I use the guitar for all kinds of stuff, so flatwounds don't really do it for me, also because of the wound G string.

  • Great playing. I just picked up an early 90s HH today. I just wish it had some single coils :(

  • Tap them. Its easy enough, theres tons of how-to's out there on how to turn them into singles.

  • this so sweet,im a srat cat addict!! but i want to have a jaguar.the tone is so amazing!!!!

  • nice

  • You just blew my mind, great job.

  • fuck how can you get that jazz tone with a fender

  • what year is that jag?

  • Have you read the title of the video?

  • dude.. I feel like such a dumba**! I didn't even recognize. we had a 1963 Jag at our house. they are nice guitars

  • Nice video! what strings are you using here?

  • What model amp are you using in this vid?

  • this sounds great, mate!

  • amazing !

  • REALLY? Cuz I have small hands and thick necks already kill me, but scale length is important too. I havent played a Jaguar yet and the Jazzmaster had a nice sound. BUT really what I want is a guitar that comebats the single coil sound, which one is furthest from that sound?

  • Jazzmasters are a bit bassier. You'd probably enjoy that guitar. If you really don't like the neck, you could always change it out for a jaguar neck. The shape is very comfortable though.

  • They're different scales though, so I'm not sure you can just swap and drop a jag neck for a jazz one.

  • beautiful guitar :)

    and very well played :)

  • I play in my Jazz combo at school and I use a 60's fender strat. Its nice, but...too...single coil u know? I am investing in a proper jazz guitar and I want to know your opinion on whether to look into a jaguar or jazzmaster. An archtop is out of the question cuz they are too expensive.

  • Don't overlook the Ibanez Artcore guitars. They are cheap Hollow bodies, but some of them sound great.

  • Profi,cry!

    Thank you!

    Zsolt Hungary

  • it made me cry

    very well played

  • very beyond cool......what kind of amp are you playing thru ?

    Thanks for your videos !]

  • Great tone and great playin'!!!

BTW, I saw a video of Joe Pass playing a Jaguar...that definitely means you CAN indeed play jazz on a Jag!;-)

  • What string gauge do you use?

  • 11s...

  • wow. that was fucking awsome

can you tab the chords you use? im new to jazz guitar

  • "Who said you can't play Jazz with a surf guitar?!"

And who says this is a surf-only guitar:) no-one thank god!

  • yea, jazzmaster is the surfguitar

  • actually, the jazzmaster came first intended for jazz, and became popular with surf. The jag was fenders new and improved jazzmaster. The jag has a shorter scale length to acomodate heavier strings, which were popular. It also tried to sound like a mix between a strat and jmaster cus those were the 2 popular guitars. jag was designed for surf, and just happens to be great for so many dif kinds of music.

  • I heard that the 60s surfbands played much Jazzmasters and Jaguars to be different to the boring Stratocasters.

I love my sexy Jazzmasters and my Jaguar, but the Jazzmaster is the more versatile guitar for sure.

    Twang cheers to everybody!

    Ralf Kilauea

  • also cus they had brighter sounds, like a gretch, and cus they have some natural reverb from the bridge design

  • yeah but not a surf-ONLY guitar:)

it can handle very mutch and is a very good combo for those who wants the killer clean sound but also want to be able to bang out some heavy power chords and solos:)

  • good job man! great sound! being a telecaster guy myself I often find myself intrigued by the jag's many switches & trem-bridge.

as for the tune - it's good practice to solo over the whole thing. blues licks are great & all 'till the changes start moving around - then it might be nice to be able to blow through them... great feel - keep smokin'!

  • Dude You inspired me to start playing jazz!

keep up the good work and rock on! (b'.')b

  • Beautiful!!

  • That was sweet playin' man, love that tone!

  • one word!! SMOOTHHHHH

  • yeah agreed, smooothhhhhhhh

  • fuck yeah brotha!!...go get em!!

  • absolutely spectacular

  • great job !

  • how the hell does one feel a song TO much...?

  • oh!

    very great!

I have the jaguar of the generation same as you, too.

However, your performance is better than me.

    Are you professional?

  • brilliant! sounded like SRV, knopfler, & kenny burrell all thrown in a blender resulting in a very tasty ear cocktail....cheers!

  • nice

  • Nice playing and guitar. Do you have flatwounds or rounds on that guitar?

  • Hey thanks! Those strings are plain old roundwound 11s. Rock on!

  • Great playing man you really make this guitar sing, lovely tones.

  • Classy stuff.

  • dude, I am amazed!

  • that was realy great. good job!

  • Tell me... why do you choose a Jaguar...? What are the pro's and con's of the Fender Jaguar...? I know it's a short neak, but is that for people with small hands or what other reasons would one have to choose a Jaguar..." My curiocity...

  • I don't know, man, I just fell in love it. It's great for almost everything I like to play. In terms of scale length I just put heavier strings to get a good tension.

  • love your playing!

can't find the tabs, will you send a link please?

  • Hey thanks!!

Sorry man, there are no tabs. I worked it out myself.
