hi there, i really love this tune, i am trying to learn it on my jazzmaster, however, i am no jazzmaster, haha, did you learn this from ear? would you be able to help me to learn this but naming the chords for me or something like that? I would really apreciate it!
@Caveira138 jazzmaster was made for jazz, but then surf groups started using (i.e. The Ventures). Fender saw this, and tried to capitalize on it by making the jag. similar body shape, but brighter sounding pickups, more chrome...to appeal to the younger crowd.
Very nice playing. I played a Jaguar for the first time a few weeks ago and was very surprised by how nice it was and how good it sounded for jazz. I always expected a Jazzmaster to sound better, but it does not.
you're one of those guys that makes playing guitar look hard. My face doesn't go weird when i do a bend. I must be doing it wrong. Amazing guitar though.
This is just fantastic. And nobody who knows the Jag well would say you can't play jazz on it - Joe Pass himself played one quite a bit around the early 60's.
Luke, I would just like to let you know that your playing and songs have actually influenced my playing style, and thank you for giving youtube such great music.
Oh, so nice! This is how I'd like to play - sort of.
As a newcomer, it's seeming more and more that it's so much more the player rather than the instrument which determines the sound. Well, maybe the amp setting, too.
i love the beginning and the tone is so good. haha im still stuck with my squire. by the way luke this is your cousin tim and you should lend me some of those guitars xD hehe just kidding. but you should come back to the states soon and give me and my dad a visit. thatd be pretty sweet
i would sell my kidneys or liver for this guitar...i really would.this has been my dream guitar for over 14 years...it seems to me i'll have to wait another 20 years to be able to buy this beautiful guitar.love this guitar,it's tone is just amazing
i'm still debating on either getting a classic or a HH model... i wanna get something w/ single coils, but the HH sounded great! i also couldn't find a classic a guitar center...
No, I tried them, and of course they sound great, but I use the guitar for all kinds of stuff, so flatwounds don't really do it for me, also because of the wound G string.
REALLY? Cuz I have small hands and thick necks already kill me, but scale length is important too. I havent played a Jaguar yet and the Jazzmaster had a nice sound. BUT really what I want is a guitar that comebats the single coil sound, which one is furthest from that sound?
Jazzmasters are a bit bassier. You'd probably enjoy that guitar. If you really don't like the neck, you could always change it out for a jaguar neck. The shape is very comfortable though.
I play in my Jazz combo at school and I use a 60's fender strat. Its nice, but...too...single coil u know? I am investing in a proper jazz guitar and I want to know your opinion on whether to look into a jaguar or jazzmaster. An archtop is out of the question cuz they are too expensive.
actually, the jazzmaster came first intended for jazz, and became popular with surf. The jag was fenders new and improved jazzmaster. The jag has a shorter scale length to acomodate heavier strings, which were popular. It also tried to sound like a mix between a strat and jmaster cus those were the 2 popular guitars. jag was designed for surf, and just happens to be great for so many dif kinds of music.
it can handle very mutch and is a very good combo for those who wants the killer clean sound but also want to be able to bang out some heavy power chords and solos:)
good job man! great sound! being a telecaster guy myself I often find myself intrigued by the jag's many switches & trem-bridge.
as for the tune - it's good practice to solo over the whole thing. blues licks are great & all 'till the changes start moving around - then it might be nice to be able to blow through them... great feel - keep smokin'!
Tell me... why do you choose a Jaguar...? What are the pro's and con's of the Fender Jaguar...? I know it's a short neak, but is that for people with small hands or what other reasons would one have to choose a Jaguar..." My curiocity...
I don't know, man, I just fell in love it. It's great for almost everything I like to play. In terms of scale length I just put heavier strings to get a good tension.
Great palying and lovely tone.

The BEST Fender Jaguar related piece on YouTube!
Beautiful tone and playing; exactly the emotive and expressive style of Jazz guitar work Fender had in mind when designing the Jazzmaster and Jaguar.
