@TheSampson22 YOU ARE A RETARD, just because you cant hear them doesnt mean they arent there....there is far too much road / wind noise in the video to justify what you said. being stock, you wont hear a great deal as the stock intake is very good at sound deadening. you really only get a lot of turbo whistle with a free flowing air filter setup like open pods.

Erm ... no. At least not the ones sold in Germany. There were two versions. Both three liter engines. One with twin turbo and 330PS/HP and a non-turbo version with 220PS/HP. So it could be a Supra without turbos...

When you remap a car, you're reprogramming the various engine processes. With standard engine parts, a remap will reduce its life expectancy as these parts weren't designed to run faster or hotter... so yes remaps run a greater risk of ruining an engine.

You could minimise the risk by also equipping more custom parts designed to work with a remapped engine... fuel pump, injectors, tougher valves, springs and cams etc, but nevertheless it would still need regular servicing and premium oil.

@lewisaccent At the time these model supras were released Japan had a limit on Kws. 205 or 206. The 2jz is built to withstand a decent amount more. The gearbox/driveline is rated to 550, the 2JZ comes standard with forged internals and a metal head gasket. Im not saying your wrong when you say remapping will put more stress on an engine, of course it does, but in the case of the 2JZ you have a lot more head room to move than most engines.

@ScrewFearMe well on a supra no because the 2jzgte comes from the factory turbo and tuned to be boosted... im not sure if the NA ones are tuned for boost ive never worked on one or knew anyone with one... but if yu up the boost yes it will tear the engine up quicker. i know wrx's run like 16 psi stock and my friend upped his boost to 19 and he blew his shit in a month

That's good power for a stock car. So many are tuned but as stock it's a nice break to see. Looks stunning and good power. MkIV Supra will be my next car. Can't wait. Might sound silly but I would rather have a Supra than a Ferrari, just something about the looks of a Supra MkIV and what they represent.
