It won't get much better until you're in college, young one, but stay strong; those who reject idiocy and embrace beautiful authenticity are few and far between but we do tend to find each other. The 97's are great--fantastic musician's producing a tangibly quality sound, with usually raw, heart-on-the-sleeve lyrics. You don't need to look anywhere else when you're in such good company. The old 97's are great. And while most rap is terrible eventually you open up to a lot of new music. I once hated rap as you do but after while you'll find a place in your heart for all music my friend and if not. Different strokes man. different strokes.
