  • Thanks for the video! I recently bought a pair of Meindl Badile boots, which are also made with sil-nubuck leather uppers, but without the GoreTex lining. The attendant in the shop in Prague where I bought them sold me a tin of "Sil-Proof" , which I applied as instructed, but the stuff completely wrecked the color of the boots and they are still damp and tacky to the touch after 24 hours. Any ideas on that? Have I been instructed to wreck my boots? Thanks for advice!

  • @Katzenflitzer All treatment products do affect the colour of leather to a greater or lesser extent. For looking after your boots, we recommend Nikwax Waterproofing Wax for Leather, and as the leather gets drier, you can use a standard Beeswax or leather conditioning cream to re-hydrate the leather. Without knowing what the attendant has sold you, I can't comment exactly, but I hope this helps.

  • i paid 250 euro for a pair of mfs boots on august 4th size 10, after only a couple of hours of easy walking to break them in the toe of the right boot collapsed in making it impossible to wear.back to the retailer they went who told me that they would have to send them to the uk for inspection i had to pay the postage another 35 euro and a three week wait to get them back, no explanation from meidl no offer to pay postage no appology..the guy in the shop tole me i got a bad batch

  • @kayakwest61 That definitely sounds like a problem with your retailer rather than Meindl. Meindl do not charge for postage, it's the retailer that does. For the record if you ever have a faulty pair of boots bought from Webtogs, we cover postage back to us, out to the brand and back to you again!

  • they might be good boots but meindl are the worst company ever to deal with they will not even reply to emails i wont ever buy meindl again

  • @kayakwest61 Sorry to hear that. Any returns should always be made first through the retailer you bought them from. Any purchase via Webtogs, we will always deal with them for you. In our Experience they are prompt and attentive at dealing with returns

  • I bought these boots - they are superbly comfortable and do keep your feet dry. However I am having problems - not the boots fault but the fairly rigid sole make me inclined to catch my feet on rocks etc, leading to a couple of trip-ups and close shaves. Also, I don't feel particularly stable when negotiating rocky areas. I feel as if my foot is unstable. Perhaps I'll get used to them but I'm wondering if I should have gone for a softer soled boot.

  • @alanstarkie2001 Just an update. After wearing these boots on several walks, I can say without reservation that they are the worst yet most expensive boots I've ever owned. Just beware - these are great boots with a pedigree and brilliant satisfaction ratings from users but they won't suit everybody!

  • @alanstarkie2001 Great point Alan, one thing we didn't say in the video is that they are a particuarly wide fitting boot, so may not be suitable for people with narrow feet. As always, do take advantage of our Zero hassles returns policy to try them out at home first.

  • @webtogs I agree - you need to deal with a retailer like this who will allow you to try them at home.
