This video came with the delux version of Continuum on iTunes. It only came with the ourchased album, until recently. It's called In Repair: one day, one song.
Its cool, because now after getting into charlie hunters stuff, I can totally pick out what he plays in the song. Its fun to hear different peoples distinct styles
whoa!! speechless by the amount of pedals there!!!. john mayer is the best when it comes to creativity from the heart and expresses it by playing the guitar. so glad he was born and became a musician!!!
I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that the "worst sounding pedal EVER" from 2:00-2:08 is an Electro-Harmonix BIG MUFF... from the "Every garage band" quote. I had one it was probably the WORST tone ever. Me and my buddies always referred to it as "Butt Tone" when I'd turn it on... It's like taking a crappy no-name chinese practice amp with a 2 inch speaker, dousing it with gas inside, lighting it on fire and covering it with a soaking wet shag carpet... don't waste your money!
If you can make it work in your sound, great... I'm not bashing it from that standpoint... I use some unorthodox gear tecniques as well. My main gripe with the pedal is that the product description is misleading. It's one of those pedals you have to try in person and with your rig or one similar before you buy it. The "violin sustain" and "low-noise," the pedal claims are non-existant (unless you run it through a noise reducer or a compression sustainer pedal).
Jimi Hendrix didn't use one as the add claims (He used a Dallas-Arbitar Fuzz Face)
Carlos Santana uses Mesa and 2 Dumble amps($16-$25k... woah) with an Ibanez Tube Screamer
The only true users of the pedal that I found were Korn and the Smashing Pumpkins (keep in mind that Billy Corgan also has 7 other fuzz/drive pedals in his rig as well as a 5150, JCM800, and a Mesa Trip Recto for distortion tones... overkill).
I will say the USA B.M is alot better than the russian one i had.
I donn't mean anything by it other than to stop some poor kid from buying it without trying it and then be dissapointed they wasted their money... I had my Big Muff for years, and I tried and tried to make it effective. I tried it out everytime I changed my amp rig in hopes it'd improve, and finally traded it for a used tube screamer... The USA and Big Muffin variations may be better... I had the cheap russian one so let me put that out there. No harm, no foul
Haha ok no problem. I do get the sustain (I dont own the pedal btw), but the claim about low-noise is obviously a joke. Cool that you know so much about gear.
Yeah, the P.O.G is almost 300 bucks I think... There is one version that can do 12 string, 18 string, and the organ effect as well as a slight detune to give you more of an organ "warble" sound. It'd be an awesome pedal in the studio, but you'd have to write down all your settings and be quick to change it during a show
On the new POG2 that's comming out you can store 8 settings! I think it will make this pedal stand out from it's predecessors... Still a bit too expensive for a pedal you won't be using that much...
dude john and steve are quite hip, but charlie hunter? although he's a good musician what he says when he meets steve and a couple other times shows he's a bit of a dork...insecure
Giving a heartfelt and well deserved compliment shows that he's a dork? And insecure? I've been making my living playing music since 1976, and I'm here to tell you it's the guys that are afraid to give someone else a compliment because they think it will make them look like a dork - THOSE are the insecure ones. Think about that.
i really want someone to put up the try documentary i cant find it anyway i saw it once and it had out of my mind acoustic...could someone who has it put it up or give me a link?
@notonekind think logically everything has a form whether its sports ect..., in music the most basic is ABA then going on to AABA, everything has a system music is not just random stuff(somewhat I guess but you know)
