@l2a3sterling Sort of see my Starwars E11 Balster which is the same thing.
watch?v=fAYna4_INc0 there is a guy on the WW2 airsoft forum making several of them as airsoft guns in steel go and check it out look for the link in the blaster vid info.
@snickers763 Yes they were used in the movie just like the British Sterling SMG became the E11 blaster and the MG42 of WW2 Germany was also used. see my Blaster rifle watch?v=fAYna4_INc0
@0ddba1l seems like star wars has some obsession with using ww2 weapons. ive seen them use rifles that look alot like mg42s and the broom handle gun was used by han solo.
@terminator0405 Yes I think it was going for a slight WW2 feel to the movie even the bad guy looked like he had a German helmet and the officers uniforms also looked NAZI then you had Storm Troopers as well.
Hi odball, I am making a m1a1 myself right now. I do stumble across one problem while buidling it: what are the dimensions and placement of the hole on the upper reciever where the sear sticks out to hold the bolt? Help would be very welcome.
"without the holes in the barrel, or better yet a real one,a beefed up reciever this would work?"
The barrel is solid at the end. It also looks like it's welded to the rest. Rendering it entirely incapable of firing. Making it work would be so much work it'd be easier to start from the beginning.
My brother had a genuine German M98 from WW2 for a while. I think that was about £2-300. Don't know how much an old tommy gun would be.
whoever said this was illegal is an idiot. it depends on your zoning or state laws. in arizona, you can build whatever you want as long as it's not shooting a propelled explosive or automatic. weld away and be creative
@marineman825 Sorry I am too busy to make and sell them but there are a number of others using these plans that may as you say. See other Thompson videos on youtube.
Hello!! Im from Argentina. Im a student od Cinematograpic ad television, and i will make a shortmovie, suited in the 30' here in Argentina. Here, the thompson was a rarely gun, but also a popular one. im gonna try to make th 1928 version, but this is gonna be one of my first jobs in metal. I have an important question. This can fire Blanks? Thanks!! Long Days and Grat nights!
@RoyMustang2 I was making it to fire blanks for a friend then he decide he didn't need it so I didn't go any further with the blank fire version. I don't give plans for the blank fire parts, as people would say I am telling people how to make machine guns, which I am not.
Hello!! I bought the materials! and i start to cut the stel. I have a question for you mister 0ddba1. ¿its posible that the receiber for the 1928 version was more big thet the m1a1? Thanks!! And gretings!
@0ddba1l Hello!! Im making good advances on the m1. Please, ¿Can you send me a Diagram or the sizes for the sights? Also, here in Argentina is almost imposible to obtain a Magazine for this weapons, and i downloades a very large number of photos that tell me the job on this part is not much difucult. But i dont have the size of the Magazine. ¿You have ones? Thanks For all your time 0ddba1l!
@RoyMustang2 Can you buy an airsoft Thompson mag from China etc also look at the NFATOYS links they may help with some dimensions. Will see what I can do if I have time.
@RoyMustang2 The main point of the oil blue/black is just for a hardwearing dark finish rather than to stop rust. However I do feel the hot oil does help in some way as it penetrates any small joints in the metal and stays in there. The carbon from the oil darkens the surface of the metal hence I feel old engine oil works better. Like black mild steel it is the carbon that makes it look dark.
I don't hate the thompson but all i can say is that mp-40 is lighter, simpler, quicker to make, cheaper, uses same round, has just as maintainable recoild and kick, the only true performance difference is the sound but that doesnt matter that much... Its a gun not a stereo!
@slayere23 Yes as do I mostly this is the M1A1 but I had the 28 stock and my friend liked the idea of sliding the stock off to fit in a small bag or using the gun with the stock off firing blanks.
@airborneguy123 Thanks mate I have got a long way to go to get all my subs and frends back, I will try and re-make some of the gun videos I have lost.
I have a Chinese made lathe but you could make the barrel out of different sizes of pipe and weld them in steps then file it.
Please pass this video on to your friends if you like it, I have had to reload all my videos in the last 2 weeks so have lost 1500 subs that knew how to find me.
What would happen if you use real ammo? an explosion in your hands? Yes it is a dumb question.

@RoyMustang2 Yes the 1928 has a larger diameter receiver than the M1A1 but I am not sure of the size.
Look at the link in my video info and get diagram 6535512.pdf that may help with the 1928.
