This is a massive fail. Its 4mb for a single player save on cod4, and the patches take up hdd space as there downloaded. patches on ps3 take hours. this is confusing for a dumbass
I've got to say Pard, the best thing to do is to stay out of any movement, the first thing that happens is you get sucked in to their own little brand of Black Hole. I'm very carefull not to get associated with any Groups, Organanizations or Movements; number one because they always have to presure you for money to stay afloat, and two, they're often times users and if they don't throw you under the bus, they wind up throwing you away when you cannot contribute anything any longer.
The PS3 4x BD-ROM's maximum data transfer rate (NOT spin speed) happens to be slightly slower than the 360's 12x DVD-ROM. An 8x BD-ROM would be considerably faster than it.
The specified multiplier refers to maxmum spin speed with the highest useable format. When using a DVD, the BD-ROM spins much faster, to the point wher it will try to read the data at the same rate that it reads a Bluray disc's data.

That is very well known for MGS4 its actualy bigger then the dual layer BD disc. That is why a lto of people got mad at the nice size install...i loved it though for speed and look pair that with MGS4 gameplay and story....sweet, am i right?

it is actually true that microsoft has to downgrade multi-platform games. GTA IV, FFXIII, metal gear rising all suffered from the abomination of microsoft. they don't care about the consumer bill gates with all his money uses his half assed excuse of a last-gen console to make himself even more money by buying out everything he can. microsoft makes good software but they aren't cut out for hardware.
meh, i've played CoD WaW on both 360 and the ps3. i found that plants disappeared on the 360 version and all of them stayed there on the ps3 version. probably the 360 versions are downgraded and not the ps3 versions
Xbox360 has Netflix and it's apparently the winner in the whole blu ray/hd dvd fight. So, Xbox360 is on top for that. (These are facts) For online: PS3 is at number 4 for most online play being beat by the Wii that's at #3. 360 is at # 2 under PC. (also a fact)
As for games there's only two games I'd like to play on PS3 "God of War 3" and "Infamouse". Xbox360 had great exclusives till "Bioshock" and "Dead Rising" went to PS3.

You actually think Sony wanted to place HDD in there systems just cause the games might need it? No Blu Ray disc speed is SO SLOW they need to practially install the game just to play it..
Consoles are supposed to be put in and play not Installs,you go to the store to buy a new game and all hyped up for it just to find out a 10 minute install is waiting.

you know how more games now require an install or stream off the hard drive. well there talking about the people out there who dont have a hard drive. the people who bought arcade systems and how it will be difficult for them and the developers to make games because they don't know how many non hdd xboxs are out there on the market. You also have to take in account that games are now taking up more storage. =) which is why MS will need a new media because not everyone can download.
#1 Price. too damn expensive, If I am going to spend that kind of money on video games I will upgrade my computer.
#2. Controller ... Wii has dominated this factor and is a main reason why it is outselling both the PS3 + 360 combined. Standard controllers are horrible for FPS or RTS games and the Wii controller is much better for driving games and sports games.

Did you listen to them? They are proposing an alternate installation with lower res textures for users who have hard drives but want to save space. It's not an excuse to be honest. <_< I just think the PS3 is mainly for CoD4/5 and Square Enix games. (I just listed the ones I thought were good on PS3). Plus I DID play PS2 before Xbox, but it was just mainly anime games. GameCube had better games back then to be honest. I just think the reason why the PS3 is so 'Godly' is that it has EXTREMELY better graphics than Xbox and Wii put together. God, I sound like a nerd. xD The PS3 is better than the Xbox, but I personally like the Xbox better.
Well I didn't have a PS2 so lol. Plus PS2 games don't run on my 80gb PS3. So that leaves me with Resistence 2, Ultimate Ninja Storm, and Metal Gear. Square Enix games are lame. FF hasn't been good since 7. Every other game almost is multi-platform. Really the Xbox has more games, they have many more exclusives. Although IMO the PS3 is still my favorite. Love the ps3 triggers and analogs, plus I'm not spending money on batteries or the PSN since it's free.
That was a pretty stupid move by Microsoft but this hasn't changed anything as of yet and both of those games are out. I think it might affect things down the road though but for now my PS3 will be collecting more dust until they add trophy support to MGS4.

1. Need HDD upgrade fast, installing games eats HDD space taking away ability to download games, demos, movies, music, etc.
2. PSN drops connection a lot, I use wired connection on a comcast 8mbps connection can't stay in games because host always drops connection. Never a problem in XBL and when host does DC it just selects auto new host rather than drop everyone out of match (COD4 prime example).

PS3 didn't lose all their exclusives, just the ones that have ever hit #1 on NPD's top 20 sellers... hense, the ones that really matter. MGS, Resistance, Uncharted and Ratchet are BARELY a reason if one at all to buy the system, and I own all four of the games... Like it or not the 360 has a far better exclusive library and PS3 is not gaining ground in this area, it truts along like the little engine that could... but in the end I am not certain it's gonna get over that hill...

Lets not jump to conclusions SC4 is not even out yet so lets wait and see on that one. If you keep up with gaming news someone made up a rumor that the PS3 version of the game would need a 6.7GB HDD install for the game and a 2GB file for the save and that rumor was confirmed to be false. The 360 version says HDD required on the back of it but nobody knows what size the file will.
Also the reason Sony put a HDD in the PS3 is because they knew the the system was limited by the RAM and the speed of the Blu-ray drive. Also Sony had no clue on how bad the the mandatory HDD install would become or they would never have released a 20GB version.
SC4 is out and all the rumors are untrue the 360 version doesn't require a HDD in order to play it and the PS3 version doesn't need a HDD install and neither versions need a large save file. Either version is great although not having rumble or trophies on the PS3 version kinda sucks. I'm guessing those rumors where started by Wii fanboys because all they got is Soulcalibur Legends which was one of the worst games of 2007.

True the main reason for modding a system is to play ripped games or play retro games of a HDD. Just to chance the subject for a minute why do they sell 1080p TV's that are less then 40" since from everything I have read and heard in order to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p you have to have a TV that is 40" or bigger.
to be honest. i sold hdtvs for 4 years and saw hdtvs everyday of my life. You can hardly tell the dif between 1080i/720p/1080p. Ive seen HD demos from the samsung,sony,mitsubishi that are 1080p and they are just gorgeous and nothing out at this moment looks even close to it. Ive seen 1080i demos that looks exactly the same as a 1080p demo.I don't think you see a differnce in size besides the size of the picture. If anything you notice more flaws(MS/refresh rates) in bigger hdtvs.
Also depends on contrast ratio as well. A small hdtv with good resolution and contrast could look just as good as a 40" 1080p hdtv.And they sell smaller tvs to people who don't have the space as well and its cheaper. 40' and below sell way faster then anything about 40" cause anything above that just cost way to much.

360's don't red ring anymore at least systems made in the last 12-14 months.
Vast majority of systems that do are systems that were made before the smaller chipsets and bigger heat sinks.
Sucks the PS3 is trailing in hardware sales. 360 just spanked it last month by over 100k units.

You actually think Sony wanted to place HDD in there systems just cause the games might need it? No Blu Ray disc speed is SO SLOW they need to practially install the game just to play it..
Consoles are supposed to be put in and play not Installs,you go to the store to buy a new game and all hyped up for it just to find out a 10 minute install is waiting.

The person above you doesn't no shit about anything. For one, a PC needs a HDD or else you'll be looking at a black screen with a flashing white line. So, I think (Unlike the 360) the PS3 is built like a PC, cause it needs a laptop HDD. Now, Idk if you can play games without it, but it seems is though it won't go to the user selection screen. you know how more games now require an install or stream off the hard drive. well there talking about the people out there who dont have a hard drive. the people who bought arcade systems and how it will be difficult for them and the developers to make games because they don't know how many non hdd xboxs are out there on the market. You also have to take in account that games are now taking up more storage. =) which is why MS will need a new media because not everyone can download.

Reasons why I don't want a PS3
#1 Price. too damn expensive, If I am going to spend that kind of money on video games I will upgrade my computer.
#2. Controller ... Wii has dominated this factor and is a main reason why it is outselling both the PS3 + 360 combined. Standard controllers are horrible for FPS or RTS games and the Wii controller is much better for driving games and sports games.
3. Bluray. have absolutely no use for it until the movies are the same cost as DVD's

Did you listen to them? They are proposing an alternate installation with lower res textures for users who have hard drives but want to save space. GTA nor Call of Duty are MMO's the 1up guy was just retarded. Guess what, PS3 games already tell you the HDD space needed. Why is it a big deal that the 360 does now too?

It's Microsoft and you're saying they CARE about something because WE pay for it? No, they drop customers like flies. Example is the XP system. Superior in gaming to me and many people I know compared to Vista. MS saw that more people preferred XP and thus stopped support and replishment of the item in stores. I paid for XP, many of us PC gamers did and now MS abandoned us for their new OS.

It's not an excuse to be honest. <_< I just think the PS3 is mainly for CoD4/5 and Square Enix games. (I just listed the ones I thought were good on PS3). Plus I DID play PS2 before Xbox, but it was just mainly anime games. GameCube had better games back then to be honest. I just think the reason why the PS3 is so 'Godly' is that it has EXTREMELY better graphics than Xbox and Wii put together. God, I sound like a nerd. xD The PS3 is better than the Xbox, but I personally like the Xbox better.

Well I didn't have a PS2 so lol. Plus PS2 games don't run on my 80gb PS3. So that leaves me with Resistence 2, Ultimate Ninja Storm, and Metal Gear. Square Enix games are lame. FF hasn't been good since 7. Every other game almost is multi-platform. Really the Xbox has more games, they have many more exclusives. Although IMO the PS3 is still my favorite. Love the ps3 triggers and analogs, plus I'm not spending money on batteries or the PSN since it's free.

That was a pretty stupid move by Microsoft but this hasn't changed anything as of yet and both of those games are out. I think it might affect things down the road though but for now my PS3 will be collecting more dust until they add trophy support to MGS4.

Legit reason:
1. Need HDD upgrade fast, installing games eats HDD space taking away ability to download games, demos, movies, music, etc.
2. PSN drops connection a lot, I use wired connection on a comcast 8mbps connection can't stay in games because host always drops connection. Never a problem in XBL and when host does DC it just selects auto new host rather than drop everyone out of match (COD4 prime example).

PS3 didn't lose all their exclusives, just the ones that have ever hit #1 on NPD's top 20 sellers... hense, the ones that really matter. MGS, Resistance, Uncharted and Ratchet are BARELY a reason if one at all to buy the system, and I own all four of the games... Like it or not the 360 has a far better exclusive library and PS3 is not gaining ground in this area, it truts along like the little engine that could... but in the end I am not certain it's gonna get over that hill...

Bcause the online is crap - PSN is terrible.
And the PS3 lacks exclusives (don't gimmie a long shitty list of every game they have, because you know half of them are shit)
Even MGS was shit - and the graphics are not the worth the price - th 360 is cheaper and looks just as good, besides - nobody gives a damn about graphics aymore (except crysis)
The most annoying thing about ps3 are its fanboys though, god they never shut up - eve when I've owned one!

Lets not jump to conclusions SC4 is not even out yet so lets wait and see on that one. If you keep up with gaming news someone made up a rumor that the PS3 version of the game would need a 6.7GB HDD install for the game and a 2GB file for the save and that rumor was confirmed to be false. The 360 version says HDD required on the back of it but nobody knows what size the file will.

Also the reason Sony put a HDD in the PS3 is because they knew the the system was limited by the RAM and the speed of the Blu-ray drive. Also Sony had no clue on how bad the the mandatory HDD install would become or they would never have released a 20GB version.

SC4 is out and all the rumors are untrue the 360 version doesn't require a HDD in order to play it and the PS3 version doesn't need a HDD install and neither versions need a large save file. Either version is great although not having rumble or trophies on the PS3 version kinda sucks. I'm guessing those rumors where started by Wii fanboys because all they got is Soulcalibur Legends which was one of the worst games of 2007.

In your video you say reviews are just opinions? well when a game has 10 reviews giving it an overall 7 on meta critic that means it sucks balls. games disliked by a majority are not gonna be good games. So shut up and admit that your just in denial, becuase you realise you have bought a console with no good games standing behind it.

This is from a site called next gen biz and the head of valve one of the best game designers who made half-life and portal said he hates the ps3.

i got my facts from some eb games,futureshop,bestbuy etc store owners who say about 33% of there 360 consoles are being exchanged for new ones because of certain "issues". im not saying they are right but by the looks of it the 360s failure rate is pretty high. if you say that its lower than the ps3s you need to check your facts.

so to simplify this, microsoft is telling developers to tone down everything on a 360 game so that a either 2 things will happen
1)core 360 users don't need an hdd or
2)patches and stuff will force the consumer to buy one of the 360's overpriced hdd.
nice huh? knowing that micro$oft, the company that made the apparently "godly" console, xbox 3shitty, wants the developers to make games crap compared to the ps3 counterparts. proves that micro$oft should have gone with newer tech like the ps3

With a PS3 you will eventually need a bigger HDD also because so many games feature massive installs (DMC4, Hot Shots Golf 5 just to name a few).

True the main reason for modding a system is to play ripped games or play retro games of a HDD. Just to chance the subject for a minute why do they sell 1080p TV's that are less then 40" since from everything I have read and heard in order to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p you have to have a TV that is 40" or bigger.

to be honest. i sold hdtvs for 4 years and saw hdtvs everyday of my life. You can hardly tell the dif between 1080i/720p/1080p. Ive seen HD demos from the samsung,sony,mitsubishi that are 1080p and they are just gorgeous and nothing out at this moment looks even close to it. Ive seen 1080i demos that looks exactly the same as a 1080p demo.I don't think you see a differnce in size besides the size of the picture. If anything you notice more flaws(MS/refresh rates) in bigger hdtvs.

Also depends on contrast ratio as well. A small hdtv with good resolution and contrast could look just as good as a 40" 1080p hdtv.And they sell smaller tvs to people who don't have the space as well and its cheaper. 40' and below sell way faster then anything about 40" cause anything above that just cost way to much.
