  • It'd be a better striking force for having a British-designed/built cruise missile, ditto the Vanguard Class for nuclear missiles. Reliance on the US always brings external interference/control into operation.

  • whats funny is the water makes the sub shrink as it gets deeper. Scary!

  • we're lucky UK is our allied today *_*

  • nicer chair at 2:23 lol

  • syamsitemperor, There are 7 Astute Class submarines being built, not 4. They are going to replace the 5 de-comissioned Swiftsure Class submarines, the 1 Swiftsure Class Submarine still in comission and the oldest Trafalgar Class, The remaining Trafalgar Class are being heavily modernized.

  • First ship of the class HMS Trafalgar was launched in 1981-commissioned in 1983 and the last HMS Triumph was launched in 1987-commissioned in 1991. They are already very old and their replacement HMS Astute has launched in 2007 but still yet to be commissioned delayed by technical problems! and only 4 are planned to be built

I think almost the same case in T42 - T45 Destroyer, except the T45 wasn't experiencing tech problem

Does it mean that the Royal Navy capability is deteriorating?

  • Not at all T45's are as capible are 4 type 42's put together with ease, and there are six astutes planned with option for upto four more traffies are getting old but no where near the age of the american 688 fleet mid to late 70's they still are main fleet submarines.

  • There are 7 Astutes planned, and the 7 Trafalgars are all getting upgraded with 2076 which is a quite extraordinary piece of kit....

Underestimate the re-fitted Traffies at your peril.. :-)

  • torbay trenchant tireless and turbulent have all ready recieved the 2076 upgrade do believe trafalgar is next, when i was there we were told only 6 astutes but to hear 7 is even better. and 2076 is a massive leap compaired to our older stuff

  • hey 121548 it fucking is something to be proud of and my god we are!! u argie's invaded we fucked you over! av that u cunts! (hoping to earn my golden dolphins over next few months! can't wait) british submarine service - the elite!

  • Are Trafalgar class sumbmarines nuclear?

  • yes. current subs are all nuclear

  • great video, great subs

  • Oh dont worry about the NHS, buy a submarine instead.

  • The Trafalgar class is one of the greatest sub classes in the world along the the American Seawolves they are both awesome sub classes along with upcoming Astutes class, but almost all the Russian SSN,SSGN and SSBNs suck.

  • Akulas are as quiet as an american improved los angeles infact the last akula was commissioned in 2001, they dont all suck many of them are incredibly good platforms i served in British submarines myself and i respect the russians simply because they do acctually have better ASM missiles and to a point ASW weapons than the west, not only that as of recent years we have helped train some of thier crews.

  • Yeah I know but they aren't par with today's Western stuff. Yes I know they have better ASW stuff. I also know that we assisted in training many of thier submarine crews.

  • you are obviously a submariner so can you answer me this. Is it true that on very long trips every submarine has a georgous chic on board whos job it is to give out blowjobs and wanks to the crew but they are not allowed full penetrative sex? my mate who worked on them said it is but i dont no if he was kidding or not?

  • i think youll find he was having you on, if not where the hell was i ?

  • HAHAHA love your comments juggernaught01 but the Argentinians will never beat us are army airforce and navy are second to non. Im in Afganastan at the moment but even now the senior navy staff talk about thier expieriances in the falklands war.

Im proud to serve in the best army and protecting the greatest people on earth gog bless and merry christmas. I know its a bit early but I'll be out here fighting. love you mum.

  • Brilliant

  • Awesome11

  • Cant wait to see footage of HMS Astute when its done its sea trails.

  • Que mieeeeedoooo jajajaja. Que os jodan ingleses de mierda

  • Vay toma no olho do teu cu karalho.

  • aww. guessing youre argentinian eh? unlucky with the rugby and unlucky with the falklands.. i think it was a british sub that sunk that 'battleship' of yours eh? nevermind, meybe one day you can win a war.

  • jaja! "Que os jodan" he is not argentinian he is a spanish guy...we argentinians don't use those verbs and tenses...and by the way everybody knows that british navy is a great navy (and one of the oldest too) But those days in the MALVINAS they sunk the BELGRANO out of the war zone, and i think that you should not laugh because people died there (english and argentinian people)because some crazy politicians send them there, and war is not something to be proud off winning.

  • actually the aft is pointier than the forward end

  • gorgeous and capable boats.

  • pity some of the video is of a swiftsure class (dicks) and thats the navy getting it wrong on their own boats no wonder i left

  • An amazingly majestic vessel. Rule Britannia.
