  • hey richard im coming

  • One was the driving force ,, One was the heart , One was the Soul ,, Once was the keeper of the sanity ,,, you decide which is who ,,

  • superbe titre , mel collins on flute ,

  • The flute solo from 2:09 is making me thrill. A piece of music I would choose for my entering into the next world ... if it ever exists

  • Comment removed

  • this is clearly to syd

  • @santiagodebellavista Not at all ;)

  • @santiagodebellavista yes i think so to but no one ever mentions it

  • Where is the good old time !!

    RIP Mr. Wright

  • i dislike pink floyd. this is exception

  • @clauderoubillie why? lol...and all the other beautiful stuff you apparently have not heard...lord

  • This could perfectly be a Allan Parsons song

  • Rest in peace Richard Wright July 28 1943---September 15 2008

    Oh, By the way...Your Pink

  • Great! So much memories, just genius!

Glad to hear him, but sad that he's dead now...Richard, back!

  • Your Right! This song has NOTHING to do with Syd!! Rick had a Music Teacher living with them in the 70's - who happened to have a nick name Pink!

If you read the sleeve, the Word were by Lulliet Wright! So not everything is refered to Syd...

  • Wet Dream is one my favorite albums... Great songs...

    RIP Richard!

  • This song is very clearly the answer to the VH1Classic question "Which one is Pink?", which is the title of the documentary they dedicated to Pink Floyd.

It is clear that if there ever was a "Pink", it would have been Syd.

  • this was always my favorite to sit outback in the yard on a hot summer day in the sun and daydream while drinking beer and searching my soul. what can i say, this album speaks, feels all!

  • @frippstar47 wow, nice, appropriate comment man unlike 99 percent of all the other bullshit you find on here haha. Just a simple explanation with no lazy, pain staking argument to go along with it...good

  • how could this be NOT about syd?

  • Rick has always denied this was about Syd, but about a family friend who really was named Pink...

  • Where did Rick deny it?

This song is clearly about Syd.

Syd watch them play. He lost himself and had to leave.

This is about Roger Barrett for sure. I never heard Rick say it was about anyone because it was always assumed to be about Syd. Just listen to it.

  • The most recent you can find it in is in Mark Blake's excellent Pigs Might Fly biography (page 258 in the Aurum Press paperback), but also all other biographies tell the same story.

  • And that quotes Rick as saying it was not about Syd?

I still can't believe it. It is so clearly about Syd.

  • @FelixAtagong He also once remarked that the solo albums by Syd were awful and basically called him a nut job. I doubt he really meant everything he said to journalists.

  • Wet Dream is a great album (my favorite Rick Wright solo album). I'm glad I got this on CD in December, 1994 (my dad bought it for me) at the old Sound Chaser record store in Hanover, MA. Looking for the CD was a chore until I heard it was available. My dad plunked down the $12 and I can still play this album beginning to end. This song, Holiday, Against the Odds and Summer Elegy were great songs Rick wrote and the instrumentals kicked ass.

  • Beautiful song RIP Rick and Syd

  • I've never heard this before. It's a beautiful ode written about Syd, who I'm sure holds a special place in the hearts of Pink Floyd's members. There seems to be a genuine 'tear' in Rick's soul... Thank you for posting this :-)

R.I.P. Rick Wright & Syd Barrett

  • This one's on my mp3 player, and it never gets old. Years ago, I read a book on the Floyd, and learned about the time when they each (with the exception of Nick Mason) took a little time to do their own thing. So i tried to get this album, but it took forever!! It was worth the wait. R.I.P Rick Wright.

  • There is no member of Pink floyed that did not complete the other. this band was assembled to be one of the best. all of them are good and special together. listen to waters for a while and you think you have made your choice. then listen to gilmoure and you change your mind again. its a mind game of excellence that takes you back and forward untill your soul is satisfied with beautifull Music

  • If Rick didn't provide the total "direction" of Floyd, at least he had the "look" of the face of Floyd. A kind, mellow, carefree "look". RIP BRO

  • Soothing yet sad.

  • - Let me go, I cannot stay...

If we could, we'll disallow you to go. But what can we do now? Sleep well, Rick. We'll lack your music and your voice.

And, btw, for all that drama about other Pink Floyd members: cool down, internet-boxers. They made best album ever - DSotM together. They made dozen of great albums before and after that. They made many great solo records, and as for me, I like them all (atleast Rick's, David's and Roger's - I haven't heard any of Mason's side projects).

    Peace

  • i heard masons albums for the first time just the other. 'ficticious sports' is great and 'Profiles" is ..... well when i play it my arm keeps going to turn it off!!

  • Fictitious Sports was awesome. I remember when I got the cassette, I would not stop playing for months. Then I got the CD but since I got it on vinyl (which I thought sounded better than the CD), I sold the CD for some good cash. Profiles was mish-mashed 80s fluff.

  • "Profiles" is almost all instrumental except for 2 songs

Of those, "Lie for a Lie" has David Gilmour on vocals and is pretty generic pop, and "Israel" sounds kind of cool, but I'm not a huge fan of the singer's voice (forget his name) or the lyrics

  • As I hear Rick's voice, I feel like a gentle

wave of fresh breeze rushing through the open window and splashing so quietly

onto my face. It's actually a fresh dose of

encouragement that today is going to be

a good day. Rick left to a better place and

I for one shall cherish the day when I see

Rick and Syd in that promised tranquility

    of Heaven.

  • This song is without a doubt about Syd Barrett. For me, Syd and Rick were my favs of the FLoyd. Mainly because they were the ones who suffered the most from the other bandmates. Syd refused to become a commercialized pop icon, Rick just wanted to keep fans happy in ways opposite of what waters had in mind, Mason was on every album with no sweat, Waters and Gilmour both seem to have a chip on their shoulder. The 2 most pure of the floyd have died. Nothing gold can stay....

  • This song totally chokes me up everytime i hear it now. Rick Wright was awesome.

    Rest in Peace Rick.

  • piękne

  • też tak sądzę ;)

  • Good luck onto that "Great Gig inthe sky"..

  • i wish you stayed

  • I am still distraught, Rick will never be forgotten

  • Just a great awsome song. Love you my friend.See you soon.

  • I think this song is absolutely about Syd.

Rest In Peace Rick we miss you!

  • RIP man

  • And I must go, be on my way

Let me go, I can not stay

Let me go, I must not stay

And I must go, be on my way

Let me go, I cannot stay

Let me go, I must not stay

    RIP Rick.

  • Farewell, Rick. I'm so sad you could not stay.

  • Perdy.

  • I think its about but Rick said absolutely opposite.

  • I think its about syd but Rick said absolutely opposite.

  • What's the opposite of Syd?

  • Dys?

  • ROFL
