I studied piano under her tutelage in Virgina Beacb back in the early 80's. She was a wonderful lady, a great teacher and tremendous talent. I ran into Spike Lee, her nephew, on the streets of NYC a few weeks ago and learned of her death. I was heart broken in that I had wished to see her again. Heaven has another true natural talent.
She is an un-crowned queen of the piano and a true original, a pioneer. I hope she gets the recognition that a true genius deserves. I cannot sing her praises high enough. Incredible!
