I think they are true Christians for one mayor reason, they follow the Bibles teachings of not eating meat. In the Bhagavad Gita also Krishna says that if one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower or some water, I will accept it.

The word Christ comes from the Greek word Christos which means "the anointed one". Again, the word 'Krishna' in Greek is the same as 'Christos'. A colloquial Bengali rendering of Krishna is Kristo which is the same as the Spanish for Christ 'Cristo'.
