  • whhy all the hate? I like this!

  • sweet video man keep up the good work the only shot that was a little iffy was the last green screne scene

  • Great video keep up the good work.

  • What did you use to make the intro?

  • Everyone does smoking footage!!! omg

  • LOL

  • Love the soundtrack, sounds like trent reznor.

  • Great stuff! - I love the mirror shots partic...

  • do it in black and white

  • you buy an expensive camera for this short that is shit come on your wasting money !!!!!!!!!!

  • @pilot7am the camera is not expensive/

  • Great look, but where is the story and why are you calling this noir, because it's deffenity not.

  • @TheGator95 What about it isn't noir? The lighting is, the props like the cigarette, the black felt, the lonely troubled male lead...only thing this is missing is a femme fetal.

  • @allianceFiLifeDotCom First of all you don't need a femme fatal for noir, watch DETOUR, and because you have props that are associated with noir, does not make it noir. The key element that is missing is story.

  • @TheGator95 You don't need a femme fatal ok thanks for admitting that. this is missing nothing then.

  • @allianceFiLifeDotCom What about the story? You have none. Not to knock your short, but anyone who knows anything about film noir will agree. If this is a film noir, what film noir would you say it closest resembles? Also did you check out "Tell Tale" on vimeo? Now that is a film noir, very Jim Thompson.

  • @TheGator95 The story is right there in the video. And this is a noir as the video states. It uses enough elements of noir to qualify it as a noir. It is a 2:20 second film with no dialog how much detail of a a story do you expect?

  • @allianceFiLifeDotCom You want to see noir goto vimeo and checkout a video called "Tell Tale", now that's noir.

  • Kevin MacLeod at work. Kudos.

  • 1:36 That's a lot of hairs and a lot a lot of pixels.

  • that piano track sounds like a NIN song "Something I could never have". Great videotography as well. It amazes me how far digital cameras have come in 10 years. I remember being psyched about DVCAM and Adobe Premiere like it was the hottest thing ever.

  • Very interesting... indeed.

  • Thank you.

  • @aithendodge danish right?

  • Bad.

  • I hear you.

  • @BayardStudios I know how you feel. Sometimes works in progress get shot down, when the only person who has the video complete is you. I find its best to not share until you are completely done, but I also feel the need to show off your work as well.

  • I liked it. Atmosphere was right, camerawork really nice.

  • Thank you very much.

  • wait...was this a comedy?

  • To some I'm sure, haha!

  • WOW..thats some real crybaby-up-your-own-ass shit right there..

  • Haha, yes indeed.

  • Excellent stuff. I thought your use of colour and shadow was brilliant. Filming in such an iconic city worked well with its filmic feel. Brilliant camera too.

  • Thank you, the camera continues to do well under circumstances

  • Beautiful scenery, iconic time lapse, and an exciting city perfumed with dramatic music. So wtf did he shoot himself? It makes no sense, unless he is a shamed and out-of-work investment banker, in which case I say, "Go for it!"

  • Thank you and haha, I agree.

  • So the story is, he's not happy then?

  • Great video, hope to see some more soon. Maybe a stupid question but how did you shoot the NYC city scape time segment? How is it possible with this camera, surely you cant fit a whole day on a SD card?

Thanks - keep up the good work

  • Fantastic Work!

  • Arigato!

  • I was told that this camera did not perform well in low light conditions. This video seems to disprove that. Did you use special lighting for your indoor and evening shots? Also, how much is this camera? I am hearing different prices.

  • I think the GH1 performs very well under low light. To my eye, so long as you keep it at ISO400 or under, the footage will hold up to HD streaming. I only used one 500W tungsten lamp in the darker shots from 4-8 ft. I believe it will be $1,499 when it comes out in the US.

  • Somewhat of a good news. I was hearing somewhere between $1800 to $2400 for this camera. I was hoping that it would cost less than a Nikon D90. But I guess I was just dreaming.

  • The $1,499 includes the special 14-140mm stock lens which retails for about $1,000. The GH1 body alone retails in Japan for about the same as the D90.

  • fantastic. Then $1499 is a great deal then. I am looking forward to saving up for this one.

  • very good work (bravo!!)

did you use the 14-140 mm in this movie??

    thierry (Paris-france)

  • Yes, this was my very first shoot with the GH1, the camera had literally arrived the day before :-)

  • you think this little cam would be good for film festival submissions... particularly blown up to 35mm?

  • Yes, with proper cinematography and handling in post production.

  • thanx for the response and BTW great work... looking forward to see more.

  • Nice cinematography.
