There is no front facing camera because "it is the phone to separate us from our phones". They didn't put it there so you understand that driving to that person's house and talking with them face to face is not all that bad.
@gomez494 actually thats what the proximity sensor is for,so when its in your pocket and within a certain PROXIMITY of your hip it will void the keypress of the camera button. ftw wp7
how is being able to use the camera while the phone is locked a good thing??? The camera is probly going to be going off like crazy in peoples pockets what a stupid idea that was...
@OrangeSodaLover I've been reading 4-6 hours talk and around 10 days standby. Normal use see's a couple days in the real world. If you are on the thing all day, only 5 hours or so.
i have the iphone 4 and it loses service to much could this phone have better service or is the service the at&t network? and should i sell my phone and get one of these?
@praisewiththestrings Some phones do, some don't. If it does turn on, then there ya go. My Droid does, but several other Android deviced don't. I'm glad to hear this one does, since I'll have one tomorrow
@bluealbedo I don't know, but it seems you can ask AT&T to give you one with the SD card put in it already. Otherwise, I would get the fastest one you can afford...
Cannot snooze the appointment reminder for different times. e.g. 1 hour or 2 days. How could they make such a big mistake? Will we get an third party app to fix this? Had to hack registery on HD2 to fix snooze after HTC removed the function.
Btw, the MyTouch isn't released yet but it's suppose to have the new 45nm 1Ghz Scorpion processor, and the new gpu... I forget what it is... anyway what is literally the best the phone?
@TheShatteredPieces Technically spec wise the galaxy series is still ahead with processor and gpu. Software wise the galaxy series hasn't recieved 2.2 so we don't know how fast it will be. But theres leaked roms of 2.2 for some of the galaxy s that reaches pass the 2000 benchmark in quadrant.
Question for Pocketnowvideo user! Main thing im worried about. Does it matter the class of microsd card you use in the device? I ordered a 32gb class 2 sandisk..Im wondering if I should go lower to a 16GB and get a class 10 microSD card? If anyone knows let me know please. No person has been able to answer my question if it affects performance or not if the class isn't high enough.

@ditter360 Yes!!! The FCC filing indicates the i917 Cetus has a front facing VGA camera. Is it not on there or is EVERYBODY IN THE MEDIA JUST COMPLETELY MISSING IT? Hello? Anybody there? Is there a front facing camera? For the last six months all indications were that it has a front facing camera. Now that it is released, is there really none? Are you going to grill Samsung about why? How about some answers?
@dimka7g The phone actually has 512MB. It was somehow misinterpreted and spread, a rumor, that it has 256MB. Essentially, we now know though company charts and updated gadget sites such as Engadget, that the phone has 512MB of RAM.
Additionally, this phone has 1GB of NAND flash to store the OS, instead of 512MB...I don't know why and what it is used for other than just storing the OS so that it can be booted into the RAM, but regardless it has double the norm for the WP7s.
This phone would be perfect if it Samsung had just taken the captivate, and installed Windows Phone 7. I want to love this phone, but that fake chrome bezel and button throws it off but that Super AMOLED screen is BEAUTIFUL to be seen in real life. I know Brandon said it wasn't slow, but WHY couldn't Samsung have used their Hummingbird platform instead of the Snapdragon?
I will still probably get this phone the week it releases, but Samsung was so close to having a winner with this phone.
WP7 is qualcomn only for now but as shown it's very optimized , with the sensitivity of the S-AMOLED screens and the speed of WP7 it'll smoke any android phone pretty easily in terms of speed.
my question about the changing of the mem card is, can you use your computer to transfer the data from one card to the other to avoid the hard reset if done(while the device is completeley off)
Hello all,
What about sound quality? Is it worth to have Samsung Focus as a music player
