Some bands and singers sound just horrific live which I thought they would but she sounds just as good live as she does in videos and on CDs. Man I hope they come to San Diego, CA soon I would love to see them live! Great job Within Temptation.

lol ... do you even realize how extremely high that is for the voice? That's in that super octave Mariah Carey range ... NOT easy at all. Sharon does a fine job singing live, especially with no professional vocal training whatsoever. So, I would venture to say when can all allow her to pitch some of her little ooh's and aah's a bit lower. :)

I really think the live version of this song is horrible. She put so many new, beautiful high parts in her songs, yet doesn't sing many of them in concert except in Truth Beneath the Rose. Yes, this solo does go way up there, but you'd think she could at least warm up high enough to attempt it at the beginning and end. It would be truly impressive then. And she'd probably struggle less on high notes...

The song isn't religious. Its about personal hardships that the band members have faced. The cross refers to a cross you bear, like a problem. They were just continuing the symbolism with the Judas reference.

I love this song... Its my favourite from the album.

I don't honestly think that it's necessarily either way. I think they were just using religious symbolism.

"Even Judas knew he had lied" refers to Judas' betrayal of Jesus. Well, if you believe such things occured.
