I was really scared of The Grudge for the first time i seen the movie. I had an extremely long trauma. I was so afraid for her, i took up the movie agian, i watched it agian. Then. I understood it. Kayako, is killing, because there is no other way to be listent to. So from now on. I will never ever be afraid of sleeping anymore, because, i was feeling that she was looking at me, she would kill me, because i did something wrong, but now i know, its a movie and she kills for attention.

@termometen Haha, I get that question a lot from my friends too xD I guess that's her way to make people see how she feel. I mean, she was in love with an other person and her husband flipped and killed her. It's not like she cheated on him, so she was innocent too. So I guess she want people to feel the pain she feels for getting killed when she didn't do anything wrong. That's just what I think and how I understand the movies, don't know if it's true.
When I saw The Grudge for the very first time, I falled in love with Kayako. She isn't an evil ghost at all, she just scream out for help. I feel so sorry for her. The evil person in Ju-On/The Grudge are Takeo.

@TheWildThingRocks Kayoko (in one of the Japanese films) is shown to be terrified of her husband's ghost, and that she can sense him approaching. Unfortuanatley, Takeo has a very minor role in the grudge 2, where in all the other films he's a central character.Hope I helped.
I absolutely love Takako Fuji! She's beautiful and very talented!!! her portrayal of Kayako Saeki in in the first 2 sequels of The Grudge is AWESOME!!!! DA BOMB!!!! (the other actress, Aiko Horiuchi, played Kayako Saeki in The Grudge 3). She's one of the luckiest actresses - she didn't have to say one single line in the movie. There's probably going to be another sequel of The Grudge - The Grudge 4, because of the way the 3rd sequel ended - Rose is now cursed with the spirit of Kayako.
@protectorofillinois2 You should check out the original Ju-on films, in that case. Fuji's performances are better yet. Hopefully she'll reprise the role of Kayako, for future films.

Did she start the curse? I don't believe so. The evil spirits were taken from many of her patients. They were just channeled into Kayako.

@Waterdragonspidey watch the Ju-Ons. they are a lot more clearer on what Kayako is. And read the book too. In The Grudge 2 (US remake), more of Kayako's history is revealed when Aubrey visits her mother.

@tina9463 Say what? I like the 1st sequel of The Grudge, but the other sequels are getting to be way too much for me personally (some of the scenes are quite boring). I just want to see the final sequel where Kayako's spirit is finally laid to rest.

@Waterdragonspidey she keeps killing because this is the curse that controls her spirit, driven by the evil spirits she possesses, that her mother fed her (who was an exorcist). She'll probably never be set free and be understood, because the curse is strong.

@Waterdragonspidey Well, that was her mother. She would take the blood from the cursed victim's mouth and cup a small amount of their blood in her fingernail and feed it to a young Kayako. Did she start the curse? I don't believe so. The evil spirits were taken from many of her patients. They were just channeled into Kayako.

@aussiechick00 she is a ghost! and holy water always works! is there anyway to stop her!? just heres the real question. they dont really show anyone in the movie that really had a close connection with her. the only 1 was her sister who later becomes the new grudge which i find pretty cheesy.just yea they never showed a super close friend who really missed her. so how can we be sure she would attack them. i need to speak to the director.

@Waterdragonspidey watch the Ju-Ons. they are a lot more clearer on what Kayako is. And read the book too. In The Grudge 2 (US remake), more of Kayako's history is revealed when Aubrey visits her mother.

@Waterdragonspidey Isn't the theory that even if you are not connected to any part of the house but you set foot inside you become caught up inside the curse and then it can follow you around? Your escape is inevitable.
Watch the Japanese versions. Much more concise and clearer.
