Brazilian jiu-jitsu proved itself time and time again in fighting competition and forms the base of most current UFC fighters games along with muay thai kickboxing. The shaolin kung fu stuff has been unable to prove itself in MMA competition and that's the closest thing we can know about it's effectiveness against other styles

I disagree. At the academy I train at, we do a little concept of "striking for jiu-jitsu" in which we work on ways to take a person down using kicks and punches as a setup to close the distance and establishing a clinch.

if you want to be a respected fighter you need a non compliant training partner. Then you will be able to tell the difference. It think for demostration purpose the Sensei should do both, one woth a regular opponent and another with an opponent that attack you full force and want to resist and counter everything you throw at him.

when we spar with the guys down at the mma gym it all depends on the rules. both sides have one tournoments, so we got some good experienced players. it depends on the person more often though. its also just a fact that mma guys train alot more physically then the twice a week basic karateka or kung fu man. real kung fu and karate, is very very deadly. north americain stuff is very watered down though, and the peoples lifestyles are bad.
thats the thing. im starting to wonder if all these bjj vids of guys beating strikers is a lil bit set up. striking is a perfect grappling deterent, yet most strikers dont utalize proper striking, yet wonder why they end up on the ground being tapped. at our dojo the first thing we learn in street self defense is never to shoot at an experienced fighter. we mix our karate with sambo. if you train and know how to use the proper strikes and escapes you shouldnt have a problem.

its obvious that he isnt that good at kung fu. Even though he has been practicing for ten years. There are a lot of great kung fu hidden techniques that are only passed down from master to student. If he were a little expierienced in kung fu he would easily beat his opponent. I would suggest mastering Crane and Tiger there are the easiest to learn and are most effective.
@xXNatanael jui jitsu is ground fighting even if his stand up was superior the kung fu fighter would still have 2 stop the single leg,double leg,trips,throws,pulling guard and a variety of submissions from mutiple positions(guy in the black shirt was barely trying). Porém, falar que um lutador, praticante de uma arte que consiste em quedas não consiguirá derrubar outro de uma arte em que praticamente as quedas não são treinadas... pensa bem. Jiu Jitsu envolve muito judô e alguns lutadores também são experts em wresteling, sem falar nas quedas do próprio JJ.

he had people jab at him with a 5ft 2x10. it was a quick jab. the board wasnt rigged or anything silly like that, he didnt break it either, but he did crack it with a pretty nasty chop. it was just a second to. the type of hand he made too a while for the muscles in his hand to get normal again since he flexed it so hard and shaped it in a special way, it wasnt just some basic chop. so i dunno, with that power, i wouldnt wanna shoot a guy like him. problem is.... not everyone is him.

theres some karate and kung fu guys that you just cant get close to. i dunno why they dont go in the ufc. seriously though, they strike so fast and hard with precision dexterity and force its unreal. like i said, the last thing you would want to do is shoot at them. i just really cant figure it out, yet there so slim to. theres this old shihan that came and showed us why you dont wanna grapple. illl explain what he did.

when we spar with the guys down at the mma gym it all depends on the rules. both sides have one tournoments, so we got some good experienced players. it depends on the person more often though. its also just a fact that mma guys train alot more physically then the twice a week basic karateka or kung fu man. real kung fu and karate, is very very deadly. north americain stuff is very watered down though, and the peoples lifestyles are bad.

thats the thing. im starting to wonder if all these bjj vids of guys beating strikers is a lil bit set up. striking is a perfect grappling deterent, yet most strikers dont utalize proper striking, yet wonder why they end up on the ground being tapped. at our dojo the first thing we learn in street self defense is never to shoot at an experienced fighter. we mix our karate with sambo. if you train and know how to use the proper strikes and escapes you shouldnt have a problem.

dude you are a dumbass you know that? that guy is not using any kung fu at all. not saying that kung fu would beat jiu jitsu but still. first the guy's stance is straight up and down kung fu stances always have the knees bent no matter the form. and second, he wouldn't be grappling back he would be using strikes and blocks. i bet he is just the jiu jitsu master's student or helping him demonstrate.

its obvious that he isnt that good at kung fu. Even though he has been practicing for ten years. There are a lot of great kung fu hidden techniques that are only passed down from master to student. If he were a little expierienced in kung fu he would easily beat his opponent. I would suggest mastering Crane and Tiger there are the easiest to learn and are most effective.

@xXNatanael jui jitsu is ground fighting even if his stand up was superior the kung fu fighter would still have 2 stop the single leg,double leg,trips,throws,pulling guard and a variety of submissions from mutiple positions(guy in the black shirt was barely trying). Im not going 2 bash kung fu but come on majority of the moves dont even work they just look cool.

I know that jiu-jitsu is a great martial art ive been studying it myself for quite some time. My respects, but all i wanted to imply in my last coments is that the kung fu practitioner isn't as expierienced. Even though he has been practicing for some time. By the way they use submition in kung fu too and there are many diiferent types of kung fu aswell.

i think the main trouble of such kind of fight, that they aren't real. the power of jiu-jitsu is a close distance, if skills are equal ji-jutsu will win always. because he will be able get to the closer distance --> because fighter will allow it --> because fighter in the training will never use full kicking/punching power

@01mymarlon Cara, realmente o Lutador de Kung Fu ai é fraco, na verdade nem parece lutador, e nem parece q o cara luta kung fu. Porém, falar que um lutador, praticante de uma arte que consiste em quedas não consiguirá derrubar outro de uma arte em que praticamente as quedas não são treinadas... pensa bem. Jiu Jitsu envolve muito judô e alguns lutadores também são experts em wresteling, sem falar nas quedas do próprio JJ.
