It really is a shame that this book never received that much public acclaim. Even today it's considered the weakest of his books by many people.

But you know what? To hell with all of them!

This book is a work of art. It's deep, it's epic, it's ambitious in scope, it's everything a fan of fantasy literature could want.

But alas, only a handful of people, like us, will ever really give this brilliant book the recognition it deserves.

It´s a shame that audio was deleted, but I decided not to remove this video because of its beautiful artwork. Maybe you like it even without music ;-).

If you have the LotR soundtrack, you can listen to the tracks "The Prophecy" (FotR) and "The White Rider" (TTT) while watching this vid ;-). That´s what I´ve used here.

sounds right, i think its melkor, as that would be chronologically right, looking at the order of the pictures. the next picture is the trial of melkor when he was brought back to valinor.

i am a fan of both as well.... allthough its all too easy to get frustrated with the movie luver's ignorance...ironically theres ALOT i havnt read.... but i know the major events that took place.therefore i realize the genuis of this vidio blending the too... the music is too good for the movies... but the books are too good for the musics. evens itself out. FINE WORK(raises glass in a toast the the prestige of the vid-maker)and dont forget... we havnt seen that last of Eol's dark blade Muhahaha

Silmarillion is by far Tolkien's greatest story [just my opinion]. Greatest work of fiction ever. The scope of Tolkien's genius is far outside my abilities to fully understand, but I enjoy it as I can. Ha a huge impact on my development of a code of ethics as a young man. Thanks for putting this on---excellent tribute.

yes i agree...ALLTHOUGH u cant really talk about the Silmarillion without talking of the tales in The Lost Tales. Although they are seperate... they are conjoined. i.e. the children of hurin. no movie can display proper comprehension of these stories...  NO country is that rich 8 )
