  • 3:29 Rob Zombie killed James?!!!!!! Stand strong and unite... Against who? Rob Zombie or Metallica? I'm confused.

  • Bond, James Bond...

  • BEST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I made a video of my classmaes using this song (6:09 - 7:10) and I think I'm getting them more into DT, which is awesome because they are rather unknown in my area. :D

You can watch it on my channel, please! I would really like your oppinions.

  • If this isn't one of the most powerful choruses of all time...

  • 6:37 - 6:53 My favourite part! This song is just killer!

  • @Bartekdex There's a chorus? All I recall is guitar and piano solos, haha.

  • haha ive just noticed on the tight rope there is a split but he is still riding on it somehow :S

  • this is some of the stupidest guitar masturbating i have ever heard. just pointless.

  • @shahwhaever how?

  • great song ! dont´s like that rihanna shit going on on 1:49

  • At 10:35 When its live its freaking awesome but nvm ALL THE SONG IS GREAT!!

  • Έρχεται η επανάσταση. ΕΛΛΑΣ.

  • ... this song changed my life for ever - dream theater is the best band in the world. ♥

  • lol dream theatre is gay

  • @dmdollinar08 You're gay, you dont even know how to spell theater....

  • @supercj8899 that'd the british way of spelling it. just like we spell centre with the r before the e.

  • @dmdollinar08 cant even spell their name right, pussy. too bad dream theater sells out stadiums, and too bad theyre one of the most influential bands in the world. every member in the band, is one of the best in the world what what they do. mike, legendary drummer. and john is a GOD of men at guitar. he doesnt just do amazing shredding, but he has soul. hes amazing. dream theater gay? please, your idols look up to dream theater. every real musician does. dream theater is music.

  • @dmdollinar08 fuck you bitch!

  • This song is PERFECT the way it is, however the music makes me think of Evanescence and now I'd love to hear Amy Lee sing it.

  • Ok i'm just curious how is you tube still up and running when it clearly has copyrighted material (like this song right here) on it. Isn't that the very thing that megaupload was shut down for? (For the record i do not agree with mega upload being shut down nor do i support any of that Sopa/PIPA bullshit i'm just curious)

  • @HelloFade2 While I do not support PIPA or SOPA, I do have to say that MegaUpload, while useful, and I liked it, they WERE in fact infringing on copyright. And they knew about it, promoted it even. If you noticed, many music artists post their own music under VEVO copyright agreements, and their respective record companies. While yes, you are right, much of youtube is all copyright. I believe some of the loopholes include not being able to download it, (through YouTube anyway).

  • @HelloFade2 And they haven't been shut down, probably because SOPA hasn't passed yet. Hope this helps!

  • 0:44 love it

  • 0:44 eargasm

  • Take a look to my channel (my "Outcry" (intro) cover) :D

Great song! I can't wait to see them on live (for the third time) ;)

  • @DreamTheaterFan78 good job! :)

  • is nit just me, or has LaBrie ressurected his old voice???

  • @queenguy1 yeah, he is fucking brilliant as always

  • I'm a huge Dream Theater fan, and this is one of my favorite songs all time by them.

  • Is it just me or did anyone else catch that this song has the same outline as Metropolis Pt. 1?

  • Listen to this and play Castlevania: Lords of Shadow at the same time. It fits PERFECTLY!

  • Who else had their mind freaking blown by this album? I mean, with DT I always expect a good album.....but this just absolutely floored me.

  • @15viceandvirtues Mate I feel the same. This album is absolutely mind blowing and I still feel the same amount of love for it as I did the first time!

  • @15viceandvirtues blame magnini ;) his style is lots more power then portnoy, and you can here it in this album. (nothing bad about portnoy tho)

  • @spredspred Now that's what I call clowning.

  • Epic elevator music:

    8:42 - 9:04

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!

  • This entire album gives me goose-bumps every five seconds. Absolutely unreal.

  • 5:21 7-7-3-5-5-7-3-9 fuuck

  • 8:41 is the best beautiful part

  • @p629pickles i agree, but it always reminds me of the Navy CIS theme :D

  • @TheCamdo More like Silent Hill

  • Comment removed

  • 2:49 somebody farted...

  • @VainMuch It was JORDAN I SWEAR!

  • @VainMuch i Didn't know Farts could sound so AWSOMEEEE

  • I never really had a problem with their last album, they had some alright stuff in there. But it must be clear to any listener that they really have raised the bar with this album. Fantastic :)

  • At the beginning when I listened to this music, I felt like a light breeze blew my nape.

  • I love this album so much, in all of it's entirety. Even the cover, it's my desktop wallpaper.

  • next time someone comes to me with that crap of nothing being perfect, I make them swallow the f*cking Dream Theater's discography!

  • 4:44 to 9:00 is the love child of every instrumental passage DT has ever put out, and its fucking amazing.

  • This is just f*ckn' brilliant! See you in Luxembourg!

  • This song cured my erectile dysfunction.

  • @MrJonny89 hahahahaha GENIUS

  • Yes the intro is truly powerful.

  • begin is wonderfull ........

  • this is my favorite song

  • I love Rudess's keyboard work on this song, its just madness!

  • HISP

  • 10:36 EPIC

  • love this... but breaking all illusions is the true masterpiece of this album!

  • D.T. gives me strength to live... :D

  • @MlKEPORNTOY 1,000 relevance points right there. taco bell really is delicious though, and we all deserve some.

  • dream theater is never disapointing!

  • Myung's growling bass at 1:47 and 3:52 MUST be listened to with headphones. Sick!

  • This is my song of the year for sure. One of DT's most powerful songs

  • Maybe better technically , but not with the feeling and the original sound wich made them , this album made me a fan of Portnoy , and no more DT.

Altough Petrucci is a String God,

  • Mike Mangini is a better drummer no doubts, but DT sounds like s shit in the last few albums! The glory days have gone!

  • @Samyaza69 I am soooo sorry that you fell this way man. this band hasn't reach its full potential yet. i see a great future - "strong and unite"

  • True Dream Theater Form and Style !!!! These Rockers will never Slow DOWN !!!!!

  • @TheExplodingPumpkin No rules. That's why prog rules.

  • @lukaszzz93 Początek utworu to monument.

  • Mike's accuracy's just insane. Luv this song so much! <3

  • This song is just earsex

  • Dream Theater are so underrated. They can stand beside world's greatest bands such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones etc. with absolutely no doubt in their amazing work!

  • @Eggeon You're dead wrong. They stand ABOVE all these other bands, great as they were/are.

  • @Eggeon they can stand beside mozart, beethoven, seriusly, not because their are all good the same, because of the things they give to the genre

  • @jere9992 they ARE the genre :P

  • @Eggeon they are among the top three bands in my book. 1: Queen 2: DREAM THEATER 3: rhcp

  • this is a killer song.holymasterpiece

  • I wish I could like this video a thousand times..

  • Fucking coooooooooooooool!

  • EPIC

  • I get eargasms everytime i hear this song

  • is it 'wait for THEE outcry' or 'wait for THA outcry'? this always nags me whenever i listen to this song...

  • @dtadeo2006

LaBrie sings 'tha' ('the'), I think 'the' is formal and 'thee' is informal.

  • @LiquidTheaterDrummer why? i thought its pronounced 'thee' when preceded by a vowel word.

in lost not forgotten james sings "reigning against the odds" with 'thee'.

  • @dtadeo2006

"Tha" is just a lax form, where English-speakers get lazy with the vowels. This works when the following word begins with a consonant, and is usually used in these cases. But if the following word begins with a vowel, one should say the proper "thi" because the lax form isn't well-defined enough. Of course, if one inserts a glottal stop (a break between the two words) rather than flowing the words together, then one can still use the lax form. Singers take liberties in any case. :)

  • @DreamWorldwide thanks. very interesting. i never heard anyone anywhere speak 'thee' all throughout. perhaps a really REALLY long time ago.

  • @dtadeo2006

True, it would be hard to imagine someone doing that in modern times. It's pretty much always a mix, depending on the following word.

  • @GabrielDhalaman

Did Petrucci really write the drum parts and make Mangini follow it note by note on threat of death? I think not. Mangini is probably still getting used to the band. Hopefully, as time goes on, he will feel more comfortable being more creative.

  • @HDaviator Well, he don't appear in the credits of the album as a composer

  • @147pablox

He isn't going to compose anything on his first album for a band that is almost 30 years old. It takes some time.

  • a wo

  • all lies they tried to trick me. Jesus Christ is the only way. Don't listen to them they are trying to kill us all!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mysteryrevealedorg not right ... haha there are no gods anywhere ... an if yes Satan rules! F**k the church , F**k your God 666 forever

  • well, ghadafi has been killed, looks like the outcry has been reached! this song really speaks out to the war and oppression that happened over there, i love the line "war to end all wars" and the "cost is buried in the ground" lines, they're so powerful

  • This song live; it made my life

  • Awesom album....still DT by 99% but the missing 1% makes serious difference...:(

  • 4:36 to 9:15 has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the song. What the flying fuck?

Why don't you separate songs instead of making four songs over 10 mins in the same fucking album.

    Fucking wankers man...

  • @MoGaDeX Sure, why don't they play like 80% of the other rock/metal bands out there, right? God forbid a band for making music as they please.

  • @Fezek0 When did I ever say that? I'm just saying, they're playing this semi-emotional song which is good and all and SUDDENLY everything stops for 5 minutes of obligatory self-absorption in which Petrucci and Rudess do some crazy theatrics that do nothing but distract from the point of the song until the focus is finally regained. They did it right on Breaking All Illusions where while there still are those obligatory 5mins, the focus is not dramatically shifted.

  • @MoGaDeX I get your point, but for me, Dream Theater was always like that. My favorite DT song is A Change of Seasons followed closely by Metropolis Pt.1, songs that have "obligatory self-absorption" and "crazy theatrics" thoughout their long and unconventional structures which happens to be exactly why I love this band and these songs so much. Do you know why I don't mind these things you mentioned? Because for me, it's the sound of a group of guys having fun while playing to their best. >>

  • @Fezek0 well said

  • It never fails. There has always been songs, or albums by my favorite groups, VH/DT, that i hated at first but kept listening and i just love this damn song now. So powerful in many ways. I hated "A rite of passage.": I hated "Jump" and "Why can't this be love" by VH. Now? Ha. Love the damn songs as well as others, too many to mention........Ok, maybe one more. When i read the lyrics to "In the presence of enemies Pt. 2" i thought "what?" but think its their best ever!

  • @mr198221 Yeah. That happened to me when I listened to the ADTOE album. I disliked it at first, but then, after a few thorough listens I fell in love with it. Now it's my favorite DT album along with IW and Scenes. And I agree with everything you said about Repentance, Nightmare and Octavarium. Sometimes DT "lose" it and keep their songs too damn long, maybe that's why I love this album, songs aren't full of "filler". Could you mention some good VH songs so I can begin listening to them?

  • @Fezek0 Good VH songs. Too many to mention, but a few are "Light up the sky" "I'm the one" "Unchained" "Push comes to shove" "Right now" "Amsterdam" "Poundcake" "Somebody get me a doctor", so many.

  • @mr198221 I think you really have to hear how it comes together in the totality of the album to appreciate everything about it. That's why I love DT so much, I love the interconnections they draw between songs and between albums... not to mention the AMAZING music.

  • @MoGaDeX >> However, I understood what you meant in your second post and honestly I think you have a completely valid and reasonable opinion. The instrumental DOES detract from the overall feel and make the song lose its focus, but they don't do that in every single song they write. Like everything regarding music and other forms of art, it ends up being a matter of taste. As they say, love it or hate it. (Sorry for my english, it's not my mother language)

  • @Fezek0 Fuck me, an intelligent person on youtube. Yeah, its true, its all a matter of taste. 1st I was kind of angry because I liked where the song was going and it became something completely different in all of 10 seconds. I do get that its kind of their thing to these kind of "interludes" and I guess some of that uniqueness is what makes them have a lot of fans. While I like some of their material myself, I'll admit that some of this is not for me but I can understand why others may like it.

  • @MoGaDeX Yeah, I saw that you were angry in your first post so then I replied with the same temper, sorry for that. But I wouldn't believe that it is only these interludes that make DT have so many fans. I think it's also that they've covered almost all the moods and styles of rock they could've thought of. You know, happy, dark, epic, power, acoustic, mellow, all that. That way they've come to have a very diverse fanbase, which is something rare in the music industry nowadays.

  • @MoGaDeX I respect your opinion. You gave an nice explanation for it and backed it up with examples. I think your opinion is completely understandable.

  • @MoGaDeX well, i heard a war in their instrumental section so for me i think its perfect. I understand what they did.

  • @MoGaDeX "Fuck me, an intelligent person on youtube. Yeah" ...you do know that using this phrase makes you look stupid for many reasons...i m just saying....

  • @Greekou Such as...

  • @MoGaDeX i think it doesnt worth analyzing if you mean it.....saying it just to make a compliment to the other guy is ok...

  • DT is so timely. Notice those 'Occupy Wall Street' protests are going on, and you listen to the lyrics of this? Gotta make you say 'oh shit!'

Love the double bass at 4:01. Sick. Hated this album at first, but damn this shit is brilliant.

  • @mr198221

DT would have nothing to do with those socialist protesters. They are capitalists, and are making money by producing music. Don't drag DT through the mud by trying to associate them or this song with the dirty hippies at Occupy Wall Street.

  • @Brewzkier "Dirty hippies" LOL CAPITALISM.

  • I'm no longer deaf! 0:43
