My Nike Vapor Jets will do the same thing and they look a heck of a lot better. Cutters are better gloves to last, but for gameday only gloves I'll take my Nikes any day.
hey man, i got these things for christmas and they don't work well at all. Like the ball i was passing with was an old one and has been scraped off the street pavement alot so at first i thought the ball i was using was'nt in good shape untill i used my cousins nike gloves and they worked just fine with the ball i used, the cutters are slippery as hell on this ball compared to these nikes that retailed for only 30 bucks. what is wrong with my gloves?
To all Glove wearers out there. When you guy rate gloves on grip. Don't judge gloves by their "Stickyness" because that is applyed to alll gloves but when your talking about grip you got to judge the traction. all gloves loose their sticky after a couple weeks. but as you notice gloves like vapor jets or any other nike gloves become less frictional to each other.but I have had my cutters for 2 years now and they are still in great shape. with cutters on wash hands w/ bar if soap to get traction.
I'm a tight end and I have a pair of vapor jets and they suck they lost tack like the second day and I've had em for a couple of Months should I get cutters or NFL equipment
Where can I buy these gloves I'm a freshman nd I'm gnna start plain football I don't have amazing revceieving skills but I have to work on it with these
on my sophomore football team, i am pretty the best receiver & we run a spread offense, so that's sayin quite a bit. but there was a kid that had no athleticism & was not coordinated at all, but he used cutters & seemed to catch more than the decent receivers on my team. i used em & they were great. but it seems like nowadays, it doesn't take much to be a great receiver. with these gloves available and all.
cutters are durable but over rated, the tak is so so so thick u have no feel of the ball what so ever, reebok and nike on the other hand are very thin and offer great ball control but last less longer...
@kevinliu2010 ha ha, i was thinkin the same thing.. i like cutters but he should have gripped the ball farther up. o well, nike and underarmour can do the same thing. the difference is over time. right out of the package all gloves are very similar.
I knew about cutters gloves for year, but I dont want to get use to having to use these gloves. I want to use my bare hands unless it is cold or crappy.
No wonder its a stupid sport.. you use body armor and sticky gloves.. whats next ? spoprts should be about PAIN and SKILL. Sure there is pain and skill in american football but its not 100%
@NoxNoctisUmbra ha ha, what do you mean not 100%, thats an incredibly vague statement. saying it is a stupid sport is a subjective statement. body armor? i hope you realize that football used to be played without pads and it is much more vicious today. the "body armor" is used much more as a weapon than a defense system. also, if "body armor" makes something wimpy then why do soldiers wear armor? its because what is coming at them could kill them. same thing in football.
cutters are really good gloves, and im getting the new ying yang style but 7surplus is right, the stitching does start to come apart after a few months. OTher than that they are great gloves.
The stitching is the weak point. The grip remains but the gloves fall apart. They need to be double stitched. After a month the fingers are shredded at the seams. Sucks, especially at 50 bucks. I like the gloves when they function but jeez. A month and they are already screwed. Sure they're sticky but what good is that when the fingers are falling apart.
Does it depend on the pair. I am a QB with QB gloves. Mostly I just wear the left hand and throw with a bare right hand. By doing just this they are falling apart. Like I said they were nearly 50 bucks. Is there a more expensive durable pair?
@7surplus7society7 Im not sure bud. Mine are the yin yang style and are now the old model. I have yet to test out new ones because these still work fine. When I play qb in pickup games and its wet outside I play with both gloves on and have no issues. Maybe you should try the receiver gloves?
@DoleUSMC yeah actually there's a better way to buy cutters, go to cutters.com and click byog which stands for (build your own glove) when u choose that link, it sends u to a page with the sports, baseball, football, golf, and regular training, depending on which sport u choose, u can build your own glove! the way u like it. in my opinion i like the original receiver glove, it's one of the newest models, i also like original lineman glove really good c-tack and not too bulky! check it out!!!
@DoleUSMC i just bought the new cutter receiver gloves 2 days ago, i had a 7 on 7 this morning and i tell my teammates..if you touch the ball with these on your gonna catch it,..but as far as QB goes..i wouldnt wear gloves... or if you prefer them id try a par of the open-palm cutters
hey DolUSMC! You should try these gloves called UA F2 they r under armour and i tried doing the fingertip thing with the football and it worked with these too! i think most receiver gloves r the same haha! u should check those gloves out they r pretty good!
@DoleUSMC yeahhh they are amazing i bought them last year ying yang and everytime i made a amazing catch they blamed it on the cutters haha btw im a running believe me our qb sucked so alot of bad pitches
Cutters are durable gloves. When you have them and u think that they are losing grip, they are not. If you are an experienced catcher and are good with your hands then they are the best gloves. But if you are not very good the best are Nike Vapor Trails, but they are less durable and suck in the rain or snow.
i can catch like a beast but i wear nikes, cause i dont like the looks of the cutters, but i can catch so i dont really care for having the best anyway, haha, just what looks good, im graduated tho, i play backyard tackle
@squishhy actually if you wet vapor trails and vipe em on ur jersey or something clean, they get their gripback. the only thing is you have to keep doing it if it gets dirt on it or something
can someone help me plz! i bought a pair of cutters and they are starting to get foggy. does that mean they are getting worn out? i also wash them and when i get them wet, it only stays sticky for like a minute. havnt had them that long
yea wash them but use like a lot of soap or detergent w.e. thats what happened to mine but i used mine in all practice drills and games... so idk about you. if they are just bad then buy a new pair or i think u could get them like fixed where they put new grip on it
u can get em at any sports store im obssed wit the varittey i have 17 pairs from since i was like 8 playin little legue im a sophmore its the best 45 -50 dollars you will ever spend
I prefer Reebok's NFL Equipment gloves. Especially their "fade" series. They're lighter than Cutters, have great grip, and they fit my hands better. It's all personal preference, but I personally prefer the Reebok gloves. They also do the "2 finger trick". So to all people impressed by that trick, don't be. Most gloves should do that!!!
You say "you can actually hear the grip...." no shit?...ALL gloves sound like that AND grip like that right out of the pack...wow this was 2:04 of wasted time. Thank you.
true all gloves sound like that out of the package, but if u take care of cutters right they will always sounds like that, just machine wash every now and then and its like a new pair of gloves
i am playing high school football and i am a receiver. they work i have them and all u have to do is put some water on them or spit on them. but they do get smelly lol
you can hand wash them in your sink, with cold water and regular soap, it works but im looking forward to try the whole syrup and soda thing. because my cutters loose grip during my games and im constantly spitting and wetting them down....over all the awsome nothing can compeat with them
the bad thing about these gloves is that the stick only last for about a month.....i have 2 pairs and after 4 games they both lost thier stick already ......a good trick is to wash them in the laundry machine, then let them dry and before a game poor then rub a little maple syrup or soda on it and the stick will last for the whole game (rubb water on it or spit on it everytime you get a break, that'll make it last for even longer)....they're amazing gloves though
you cant wash the tack away it is apart of the material, thats the beauty of C-TACK, you can wash them and hang dry (best) or if you want something quicker just take a damp cloth and wipe the C-TACK, during a game i would yake water pour it on them wipe my gloves together then wipe them on a dry towel or my pants
Oh yeah and the sizing is CORRECT! Do not order a size up there just too big unless you want to use them for your next season. THE SIZING CHART IS CORRECT TRUST ME DON't MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE.
Eastbay has awful pairs and the shipping takes mad long mine took like a week or so and I did the 3 day shipping. Great gloves might order another pair for next season for private school.
yeah idk if u have a place called footlocker around where u live but u can buy something called stick it, it doesnt meet specs but they will never relize
My hands are about 7 and 3/4 inches. I'm thinking about ordering size XX-Large because my real size is X-large. Are the gloves big or small ? Could I fit in the XX-large?
As far as I can tell they run true to size. Im more of a baseball player and I wear L batting gloves. These fit just about the same. these are not tight on the wrists so I think that if you were to have to squeeze into them you would have some room.
yeah brotha... sorry I think what I might end up doing is record the original playing on my computer with my digital camera and just cut it into two videos. Eh, who knows
Thank you again though the Ryan cards are PIMP and the ufc stuff is killer bro!
I got my cutters today and I cant wait to use them at my game tomorrow. I got the black pair of gloves because my team colors are Blue, white, and black. I had my dad throw the ball to me from about 40 yards away and I couldn't catch better. These are a must have gloves!!!
i got gloves like those except there all white

Pretty good, but just like every other gloves after a month of pratices/games they don't stick anymore.

Maybe Terrell Owens and Braylon Edwards should invest in a pair of those!

I got my cutters today and I cant wait to use them at my game tomorrow. I got the black pair of gloves because my team colors are Blue, white, and black. I had my dad throw the ball to me from about 40 yards away and I couldn't catch better. These are a must have gloves!!!
