i saw this on the style network a few days ago and the transformations of these little girls were dramatic they looked nothing like themselves after all the hair and makeup especially the little girl at 0:50 she had the biggest transformation she went from looking like an average 6 year old to a 21 year old - but I guess its just like dressup for them when the make up comes off their just little girls again and they seem to enjoy being on stage

I don't think they're bad for psychological dev. I really do know a girl who did pageant as a kid, she stopped but she said they were fun. She just comes to school in tees and sweats(how she does it idk)and gets surprised at how I put on makeup every morning. And I wasn't even in pageants! :(

i've actually never heard about pageant for children outside the u.s.! pageants are not as popular in - as an example - western europe as they are in the u.s... and if there are pageants around here, you have to be at least 16 to participate.
