A game doesn't have to have an everyone was happy ever after ending to be good. The fact that he would sacrifice the entire world just for Elika is more beautiful than any everyone makes it out alive ending I have ever sen in a game. When he walked away from that temple with Elika, even as she was questioning him, I honestly felt that "this is a character who is more human than most people can understand." I commend this sad ending.
I really like the ending. It's inconclusive and tragic, but at the same time, it shows how the prince has stepped down from being a selfish to brat. Now he goes so far as to release the devil to bring back the girl he loves.
The Prince of persia feel doesnt come from the gameplay but mostly from a story book feeling like the first sands of time the originals and this one ww, and the forgotten sands didnt really have that feeling thats why they werent liked by the fans that much but thats why I love this one and the first sands of time they had a mythical magic feel to them so wheres the sequel to this game already

man , i really onjoyed playing this game! (it was a pain in the ass in some spots, but still) but the ending, i did not see that one coming, i thought that they would kill arihman, and then rule the newly-healed kingdom together, but insted she dies, and then the guy has to destroy everything to bring her back! all the effort and all the trouble through the entire game for nothing!
I also think that the Prince is actually really in love with her and I think he was afraid to get close to her for fear something would happen. And look what happened. He also figured, why should Elika die for everyone when Ormazd was there to help at all. It wasn't fair. And it wasn't right. So it couldn't let that happen.

Yes you don't have a dying ANIMATION in the game so? Elika is a walking checkpoint here which is really cool feature.
And the ending of the game is really impressive and not cliched hapy ending.
I think the gameplay was a bit more boring comp. to prev. games but the awesome visuals compensated me for that. The fighting system was totally different too but it wasn't bad just different and cool on it's own way.

Hey yo,nobody is dead...yeah Arhiman is free ,but that's no biggie:D...Elika is alive and her sacrifice wouldn't have stopped Arhiman...not for long.Anyways this ending was at least unexpected but what it does is to show the prince' love for Elika ...you can find out more by playing the DLC (which is called Epilogue)...Unfortunatley that DLC is not for the PC...
@Erickpowers14 The Temple had already lost its power to contain Arahmin when Elikas' mother still alive. her mother sacrifice herself in order to keep the energy within the temple to contain the evil. Thus Elikas follow her mother's step. but this is not what her father wants. he lost his wife and then his daughter this leads him to make a deal with Arahmin. he wish to take his daughter's place and let Elikas to be free and live. and so think about it when it happens to prince. he did the same.

I was kind of disappointed with this ending. I would have been happier if they choose an ending in which the prince and Elika would end up togehter happily. All of it seems so pointless, seeing how basicly nothing has changed.
And on Xbox 360, you get an achievement at the end which is litterally called: "To be continued..."

There is a DLC epilogue plot that finishes the story.Taken straight from wikipedia:
"In the DLC content, it is shown that The Prince and Elika survive, and retreat to an underground palace. Elika leaves the Prince, however they both end up battling Elika's father once again. They escape the first battle......"

idk why people rip on this game so much. i mean ubisoft is a great company and most of their games are a list... i am soo emotionally attached to these characters similarly to shepard and stuff and that what makes the games great because of the attachment ppl share with those characters. yes, i do have a life and friends, i just find the story engaging and touching at the same time

Hey yo,nobody is dead...yeah Arhiman is free ,but that's no biggie:D...Elika is alive and her sacrifice wouldn't have stopped Arhiman...not for long.Anyways this ending was at least unexpected but what it does is to show the prince' love for Elika ...you can find out more by playing the DLC (which is called Epilogue)...Unfortunatley that DLC is not for the PC...

@Erickpowers14 The Temple had already lost its power to contain Arahmin when Elikas' mother still alive. her mother sacrifice herself in order to keep the energy within the temple to contain the evil. Thus Elikas follow her mother's step. but this is not what her father wants. he lost his wife and then his daughter this leads him to make a deal with Arahmin. he wish to take his daughter's place and let Elikas to be free and live. and so think about it when it happens to prince. he did the same.

I liked this game. At first with the graphics I was kind of like.... eh. But I got used to it, and it was a really entertaining game. Graphics aren't everything.

I was kind of disappointed with this ending. I would have been happier if they choose an ending in which the prince and Elika would end up togehter happily. All of it seems so pointless, seeing how basicly nothing has changed.
And on Xbox 360, you get an achievement at the end which is litterally called: "To be continued..."
How lame is that?

There is a DLC epilogue plot that finishes the story.Taken straight from wikipedia:
"In the DLC content, it is shown that The Prince and Elika survive, and retreat to an underground palace. Elika leaves the Prince, however they both end up battling Elika's father once again. They escape the first battle......"
If youre interested you could go and download the DLC. Good luck.

@zapperxxx Dude you don't know how this game ruined old Prince of Persia game, this game doesn't have any puzzle or doesn't even need skill to play it it's just a scripted platforming. If you ever played Prince of Persia 1, 2, 3 you have no idea how those games are good. You just can't compare this to that.
