it's hard not to see compassion in the mother bear's eyes...I know it's anthropomorphizing a wild animal, but she definitely has a tenderness for the cub. (Of course, she has to, evolutionarily, but that doesn't stop some animals from neglecting their cubs). So cute. Baby predators are so helpless before they become natural predation machines. And as fellow predators...what hurts them, probably hurts us too.

Another time I was sitting by a glacial pool in Banff, looking over my notes, when a female cougar slid noiselessly out of the water less than 4 feet away and carried on as though I wasn't even there.

i am waching all kinds of amimals haveing birth try to wach a kangroo haveing birth
it is so cute how a baby craws into a baby pouch and try to wach a royla white tiger haveing birth and a dolfin giveing birth and when the baby comes out it is amazing how it knows to swim when it comes out and a snake so gross and try to also wach a tiger give birth and a horse giving birth so wach it all.all so cute!!!!!

Why do hairy mammalian killing machines tug our heart strings when they are young?
It doesn't make sense!!! I'm just as guilty of falling for them. I don't understand why it happens. They'd destroy us given half a chance and a few more years.

Yes, this was pointed out by another person that I 'corrected'. As I said to him, I stand corrected - I thought you were both mistaking the narration...I did not even notice the text under the clip.
I guess there is a whiff of irony about this - I have a PhD in zoology and have studied polar bears directly !

@nordhorny The narrator was not the one who said that the MALE gave birth, the information below the video said "Witness these amazing shots as a polar bear gives birth in his hibernation hole."
