  • I just read Mark Seymour's book, Thirteen Tonne Theory, the story of Hunters and Collectors...what a fucking riot...great stories. Find a copy and read it.

  • Hey, i didn't know Guy Pearce could sing as well...talented bloke that fella.

  • fkn love aussie music, had a mixed tape with spy vs spy next, dont tear it down - oooh you chewb remanisce sesh tonight yay

  • How the hell does this song get any dislikes?....4 people are uncomfortable with singing 'you don't make me feel like I'm a woman anymore'

  • great song!

  • Great song and love the special guest appearance of the HD holden.

  • Brilliant!!

  • @AntipodeanAl lol- hr's dont break down either.

  • Beautiful sorrowful work, it's in the base, in the chest cavity behind that breast bone she ground that finger into and said that devastating thing that every career journeyman (or woman) surely knows.

  • Wish I could quit my job and make a living of promoting long lost bands from the eighties. (among my responsibilities would be re-educating youngsters who listen to absolute shite)

  • Hunters are the best! Can have all your new crap I'll still be listening to them or Mark Seymour - he's still got it!

  • awesome song.

    playing again...

  • THank to ALL that go to the trouble to upload these amazing aussie bands!! LOVE YA!

  • REMEMBER BEING ON STAGE AT THE MANSFIELD TAVERN,WITH THEM , I THINK THEY GOT TIERD OF PUSHING ME OFF, THE ONLY THING WAS I HAD MY WIFE TO BES HAMBAG ON ME ARM .LOL

  • @spassy13 hahaha!! .... was that with Dave Grainey and the Coaral Snakes in support circa '93?

  • @spassy13 hhah ... was that circa '93 ...with Dave Grainey supporting?

  • Sensational. Little known fact : the drummer (Doug Falconer) was working as an intern in a Melbourne hospital when he chose to join "Hunters". Interesting career move. So much for those "drummer" jokes!

  • I'd love a HD, there are not that many of them, they had to change the front panel because it stuck out to much over the headlight, dangerous or some such thing, so they them brought out the next model, was it the HR? anyway the one before the HK

  • At least you could fix that crappy HD yourself, unlike the shit today..

  • @1wiremu Whats more, you can sing a great song while your fixing it!!!!

  • Yeah... the HD Holden really was a crappy car.

  • hey Ryan...can you get their song "99th home position" ? It was on the same album as this song, Human Fraility ! Cheers!!

  • He is only pint size but he sure makes me feel like a woman too! And what a great voice.

  • I loved the 80s music and the Aussie rocking out bands.Memories of drunken smokey pubs packed with sweaty punters raging to H&Cs..yeaarrh those were the times..

  • she ground her finger into my breastbone!!!! teehee

  • fuck yeah

  • good song but their working class gimmick always was a bit lol

  • @joshualucas yes I remember them at melbourne university, a bunch of very arty Fitzroy inner city types, the white t shirt arrived mid 80s and then it was all faux-working class angst

  • Well he sure makes me feel like a woman....

  • Eat their dust garbage!

  • Against the rawness of the punk era (as much as I loved it) a band with attitude AND a classically trained horn section was really something to see - especially live!

  • Their bassist is awesome, and the horns are great!

  • Awesome Band ever makes you proud to be an Aussie...and I have to say that Mr Seymour sends shivers down my spine and every time I hear this song it makes me all tingly I guess that is a good thing being a female, must be how raw these guys are....

  • hard to believe it's 1986 huh....classic

  • Awesomo song dude love all your posts mate :)

  • Great clarity great song.

  • Great song.

Not sure what Mark is trying to do under the bonnet of the HD sedan?

Those vehicles rarely had problems, thanks to the hard work of our fathers.

She looks pretty clean cobber. Holla for a Marshall?

Sorry, just nit picking on what is one of my all time fave songs.

    Cheers,

    The UTE!

  • I used to listen to them on CFNY in Toronto. This was one of the songs I remember...I know they had another song more familiar to me...nothing else has come to mind yet..

  • marc great aussie track mate, but come on the naked truth is that HD holdens never ever brake down ,i will give you my old valiant to put in the next video.

  • this lead singer is a remarkably similiar singing style to that of The Clash!!

  • @DeneBalogh Wish to withdraw previous comment, was very drunk at the time

  • @zephranna01 Ahhh, you should have seen how brilliant they were one night at Thommos, in Mooloolaba, yonks ago, far out, filth day , good swell, then across the road, into the pub, for one excellent night, ahhh, still get tingles thinking about it, effing awesome, will never forget! :-)

  • Oh zep..... The funny thing is that for all your pathetic threats and even more laughable boasts.... You are the one who had to block me when you realised that I had fooled you.... Fuck you must be so ashamed of just how pathetic you are.

  • But zep... You think you're one of the "intellectual" types don't you?...... After all you are so proud of being a TAFE student.....

  • FANTASTIC :) Memories plus!! Love it.

  • It was totally outta control.Just the energy from the crowd pumped ypu up.. & back then you could get up close & personal with the band. Some of the best (drunken) times if my life. LOL!!!!

  • The bands that Australia had in the 80s were simply incredible live,Midnight Oil,The Angels,Aussie Crawl and Hunters and Collectors to name a few would ALWAYS play the house down....

  • @kkyliegeda

Totally agree! young kids today don't know good music if it came up and smashed them in the face

  • I was there sweating my ass off in Coogee Bay Hotel many times. We were packed in & the crowd went MENTAL!!!

80's Pub Rock... you had to be there!!!

  • @fergsnando yes m8. we probaly rubbed shoulders at the bar a few times. good fkn memories.

  • There will only be 1 H&Cs. Mark is just a sexy honey and he makes me skin tingle.....meow he could make any woman feel like a woman :)

  • oohhhh.. so sexy at 2:22 I am stuck to my seat. Mark Seymour was (and still is ) soooooo sexy and such a talented human being.

  • very good!!

  • The song came out the same time I got my first car, a $400 1966 HD Holden (same as in the clip) which occassionally broke down on country roads. Was having gf issues at the time too, so as a young guy was really able to connect with the song and clip. ....So many memories!

  • An all time fave. The bass is hypnotic.

  • U dont make me ....Surfers 1987 The Schnitzel Bin

  • wow almost 25 years back and i still remember Sydney mid-1980s seeing these guys three times at pubs, great sounds with brass on stage, crowd going nuts... awesome aussie music.

    greg, sydney

  • This song has always been in my personal top10 of all time . just a great great song, with the best bass line

  • there was a world class star in Hunter and Collectors but it wasn't Mark Seymour, it was John Archer.

That bass live was like a howitzer, I can remember it so clearly

    IMHO

  • my fav hunters song!! yes the 80's were the heyday for ozzie music, i live in the uk now so i dont hear much nowadays. i caught a bit of mark seymour, john farnham and barnsey at the grand final, ah we all get old dont we :-)

  • takes me back

  • Such a great song- takes this old man back to the Coogee Bay Hotel covered in sweat and going mad. Saw them one night play with Big Pig - so much sound!!

  • First saw these guys at the Oil's Red Sails in the Sunset Tour, at Kooyong [2nd best gig of my life]. They opened with this song that they were to release only a week or so later.

I became such a regular at their Melbourne gigs [standing to the right & front of the stage] that I could talk to Mark on the street, as he know who the f8ck I was [which blew my mind]...but then again, I was usually the tallest dude in the room...lol

    HUNTERS!

  • Saw these guys so many times in Sydney. One time at The Venue in Dee Why as Mark was belting out this tune, he had a posse of lookalike fans, all buff guys with sleeveless shirts on, fists pumping in the air, all singing "you don't make me feel like a woman any more" along with him. Pretty surreal moment.

  • at the venue?

  • these guys were f*#king legendary. I saw them a couple of years in a row in wellington - one of the best live bands I've seen anywhere.

anyone wondering what they were like should get hold of "Living in large rooms and lounges".

  • One of my top 5 fave songs of all time. Thanks!

  • another top australian band we hear to little of

  • Those were the days.

  • just shows the aussie bands are well up there with the best -80"s were big with dragon-aussie crawl -mondo rock could go on but any aussie music lover knows what i mean

  • Go Hunna's!

One of the most underrated bands EVER, and not just in Australia either.

Thanks for posting this vid, nzoz1986.

  • it's cool

  • best aussie rock band ever.

  • Uber group, one of the best (from Australia anway). The filmclip is absolutely fantastic, the song can stand by itself as well :)
