  • A 6/16/96 Daily News report by Michael KATz chronicles boxer Roy Jones Jr.’s two-sport adventure the previous day, playing USBL basketball for the Jacksonville Barracudas in the afternoon before defending his middleweight title vs. CANADIAN Eric LUCAS in the evening. Jones won the bout before 7, 211 fans at Jacksonville Memorial Coliseum. Unrelated to “SOUTHERN POLITICIAN” themes: the coliseum was demolished eight days later on the same day U.S. Sen. Strom Thurmond (250-64-5145) died: 6/26/03

  • @bilskie1 I couldn't help but notice your channel page says you joined YouTube with this account on the same day Major League Baseball pitcher CORY Lidle (555-15-8840) flew his small, private aircraft into a New York City high-rise, killing himself and his flight instructor passenger, Tyler Stanger (607-09-2700): OCT. 11, 2006. Lidle spelled his first name with the same "skipping E" version of traditional COReY as Newark, NJ mayor CORY Anthony Booker.

  • I graduated from high school in the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Coliseum. It was a wonderful building with a long history! RIP !!!!
