No, you can't say it like that, man , I think the Floyd was falling in a big depression after syd has leaving the band. It was a hard way for them to handle, what was happenned to Syd. You can see and feel the kind of pain in all the following stuff. Thats what I am thinking For sure. But all in all it was Syd's idea to start a band like this!!! The Pink Floyd sounds much more fresh, sometimes very funny and healthy with syd.Unlike the Waters/gilmour sound most time makes me sad.
My favorite pink floyd was actually after syd left, but I don't think anyone else in the band would deserve something like this. I think its all the mystery surrounding the man.

Syd Barret no fue ningun genio. Lo unico que hizo por Pink Floyd fue liderar la banda por un corto tiempo y darle nombre. Su talento musical fue mediocre mientras estuvo cuerdo, despues fue nulo. El no influencio el estilo de Gilmour, fue al reves como muchos saben. Le doy credito por haber inspirado las mejores canciones de Floyd, no mas. Su disco "Piper..." es un asco comparado con todos los demas que hizo la banda, su conducta fue totalmente irresponsable

Sus letras hablaban de estupideces y trivialidades, nunca alcanzaron la profundidad de Roger Waters. Como guitarrista y vocalista no tiene comparacion con David Gilmour y como compositor se queda muy corto comparado con todos los demas. Comparen el dark side o wish you were here con el piper.... existe acaso alguna prueba mas irrefutable?. El tipo era un principiante, ademas no invento nada.
Su escritura , sus liricas , estan basada en la corriente artistica llamada AVANT GARDE ,tienen muchas lecturas , arte ingenuo ,ciencia ficcion ,etereas ,A DOMINE ,por ejemplo , eso primero ! luego , como compositor , fue el mas brillante de P.F , de echo jamas pudieron hacer un disco tan brillante como el primero , me refiero a originalidad , sentido de la composicion , un album totalmente rupturista a su epoca , lo que hicieron despues solo fue su saga .
