Ultimately Mancini was absolutely correct..Johnson's tackle was worse than Kompany's and Mancini understandably made a point of highlighting that it should of been a red card if there is any consistency in refereeing decisions. There is a huge difference between a manager waving an imaginary red card on the touchline and a player doing the same on the pitch in full view of the ref. Not the exact same thing!

Kompany's tackle was perpendicular to Nani, and had Nani not jumped, there was a serious risk of injury since Kompany's entire momentum was focussed on Nani's position.

@paulherbert1977 Kompany made his tackle earlier, it was obvious he would be first to the ball and he stood up straight after and Johnson's one was tighter, he slid in with more force, if it was half a second later he could've broken the guy's leg easily. One thing you people who like this lumberjack football need to understand is that sliding forwards is a very unatural move for a footballer and this way most damage can be caused as players crush into each other from opposite directions.
