Can understand where Mancini is coming from.. I personaly thought that Johnson's tackle was worse than Kompany's was, as soon as it happened I expected the ref to show red, as a liverpool fan, we we're lucky not to have seen the red card, but Mancini shouldn't have ago for Rooney trying to get Kompany sent off an then do the exact same thing =S.. it's the ref's job..
BASICALLY...Gerrard is telling Mancini that Rooney was trying to get Kompany sent off and Mancini is now doing the exact same thing for Glen Johnson and so in other words he is calling him a hypocrite. Rightly so too.
Nope.Mancini is just saying that Johnson's challenge was much worse than Kompany's and so, if Kompany's was a red card, then Johnson's was definitely a red card.
@RPFS2008 You've got it wrong, Gerrard is upset because in midweek Mancini complained to the press about Rooney trying to get his player sent off. Yet in this match Mancini jumps off the bench waving fake cards around trying to get a Liverpool player sent off. The tackles were similar, yes, but Gerrard is angry about the hypocrisy concerning the act of trying to get someone sent off.
You complain about something in the middle of the week then turn around and do the exact same thing?
@TheKashmunny Gerrard is rude. You do not interrupt a managers interview picking a fight. Ultimately Mancini was absolutely correct..Johnson's tackle was worse than Kompany's and Mancini understandably made a point of highlighting that it should of been a red card if there is any consistency in refereeing decisions. There is a huge difference between a manager waving an imaginary red card on the touchline and a player doing the same on the pitch in full view of the ref. Not the exact same thing!
@80sLizzie no Gerrard was pointing out the double standards by Mancini. He was standing up forhis teammate as the captain should. Mancini should ahve said that Johnsons was worse but still wasnt a red, instead of waving an imaginary card which he had just critisised rooney for.

it may have been a bit rude, but no one seems to confront the "mind game" coaches... who do this sort of thing, complain when another team tackles them harshly, then the next game call the other team divers or sissies when it is their team doing the harsh tackling. steven may have been rude, but he was right, wasnt he?
am a united fan, fair play steven gerrard for stickin up for wayne rooney like united liverpool are a a big club with great history, not like man $ity trying to buy the league if utd don't win the league love to see spurs do it.
@fergiesunited FAIR play to ya, Stevie G is a cracking footballer, on a parr with Giggs and Scholes for their dedication and loyalty (and before any chelsea fans start, your money meant nothing) to a team. I'd love Spurs to win it, I reckon yous will though, as much as it pains me to say it! But fair play to you and respect where its due. Gerrard had every right saying what he did, Kompany was unfortunate but they've had some lucky decisions this season too...well said stevie lad
@CallMeWakul yes i would city are not united's rivals liverpool are all city have is money liverpool have history like united , respected is were repect is due even though it pains me to say that
I think the reaction might stem from Gerrard being good friends with Rooney thus wanting to defend his mate, but that's just a personal opinion, I try to consider behavior in context as opposed to reacting blindly to it
That's bollocks. He's not trying to get anybody sent off. He's just trying to make a point that Johnson's tackle was worse than Kompany's against United and he's right. Gerrard is disrespectful inturupting his interview!
@paulherbert1977 you are an illiterate prick with, evidently, a very poor knowledge of the game. Johnson flew in with both feet studs up to the player. Kompany's tack carried very little momentum and his studs were not showing.
@graemetheplumber Johnson's wasn't a tackle, it was an interception. Lescott never touched the ball and there was no chance of inury since the tackle was parallel to Lescott. Kompany's tackle was perpendicular to Nani, and had Nani not jumped, there was a serious risk of injury since Kompany's entire momentum was focussed on Nani's position.
@paulherbert1977 Kompany made his tackle earlier, it was obvious he would be first to the ball and he stood up straight after and Johnson's one was tighter, he slid in with more force, if it was half a second later he could've broken the guy's leg easily. One thing you people who like this lumberjack football need to understand is that sliding forwards is a very unatural move for a footballer and this way most damage can be caused as players crush into each other from opposite directions.
@paulherbert1977 Paul, what I'm trying to say is what's already been explained to you by Graeme the plumber :) who obviously understands the game unlike u. That's exactly how Eduardo's leg was broken by Taylor and it was only 1 footed. Can't slide in forwards like that. Its unnatural. Why we never see Ferdinand or Nesta sliding on their asses? Coz they're technical players, not lumberjacks. And please dont insult me as I'm talking to u with respect.
@LiveForTheReds dont listen to that kid,he was speaking through his hole on a Utd video i was watching aswell. some glory circle-jerking city fan thats been supporting them since the terrorists took over

RPFS2008 1 month ago
@RPFS2008 no because kompany's was from the front with both his feet so he could injure both of nani's legs as they were parrell
but johnson's was from the side so if he did hit him it would have only hit one of his legs
kompany was way more weight than johnson too it would have been devastating
