  • this was a easy game to pass

  • Daaaayum. You've got a MOTHER 2 cartridge?! Awesome!!

  • The little flying skeleton guy is named "Tom Guycot". The band in the Scott Pilgrim series, Clash At Demonhead, has a drummer named Linette Guycott. See a connection? :D

  • Was that a pokeball at 9:00?

  • I remember when I played this game, I explored mostly. I had no Idea where I was going, I just chose directions I never went before. This game kinda depressed me after a while. I haven't played it since i was 11.

  • My grandma had this game when I was younger. It would piss me off to no end!!

    Classic!!!

  • dude go buy a xbox 360

  • @evilteddybearlover10

Why? There are perfectly good NES/Famicom, SNES/Super Famicom, N64, and Sega system games to be played.

  • Mother!!!!

  • Bryan Lee O'Malley's first videogame <3 'S where he got the name for Envy's band.

  • Intro is way too long.

  • You know that pack man was actually named puck man. You would think it was because he looked like a hockey puck but it was because paku paku is the Japanese term for opening and closing your mouth.

Actually it was changed because they thought it would be too easy to vandalize it by scratching out the P and drawing an F in its place.

  • @ClassicalMMAChef Okay, I'll leave you alone forever now. XoX

  • The hermit looks like the old man from Zelda.

  • It sounds like someone wants to get....funky...

  • @Dwarmin hahaha nice, but totally wrong video

  • Fun fact: They copied Billy's sprite pretty much EXACTLY and put him as a cameo in World 5 (Halloween/Day of the Dead Party) in Scott Pilgrim Vs The World...with Tom Guycot appearing as a common skeleton enemy.

Also, they used Guycot's last name for Lynette, the drummer of the band 'Clash at Demonhead'.

Clash At Demonhead was the first video game bought by the creator of Scott Pilgrim too.

  • 0:09 mother earth my ass

  • i wouldn't be surprised if there's a game called sex bob-omb

  • @leonardoluiss02 Bob-omb is the name of the little walking bomb enemies from Super Mario Brothers 3.

  • @MostlyPerfect i know that, but, i wouldn't be surprised if there was a whole game called sex bob-omb or just bob-omb

  • @MostlyPerfect actually they first appeared in Super Mario 2/Doki Doki Panic

  • @Evilmonkey66699 I THOUGHT so! It's been a decade since I played that one I wasn't sure. I was sure they were in 3 though. For some reason I loved the ship and tank boss levels I'd play them over and over.

  • Wii- tards unite!

  • you must upvote this if you thought this had to do with the band "Clash at demon head" from scott pilgrim vs the world

  • 0:21 I thought he said "You presumptious little Twat!" lol

  • lol the smiley face at 7:08

  • Catchy background music.

  • Where is envy adams?!?!!?!? XDDDDD lol i love this game

  • this game sounds complicated as fuck

  • Well, shit. I didn't even know that the band was a game reference. Crash and the boys, Clash at Demonhead, Sex Bob-omb is Mario 0.0"

  • Wow games like that back then looked really HARD! Glad I stuck to Mario!

  • drummer for clash at demonhead is lynette guycott, fun fact

  • I saw this game mentioned in "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World", and remembered this classic! Thanks for keeping the memories alive! :)

  • @hypnodance the game isn't mentioned, it's the name of his ex's band, but the name comes from the game.

  • I saw Brandon Routh with a Clash at demonhead T-shirt at event of Scott Pilgrim vs. the world.

    imdb.com/media/rm2614067200/tt0446029

  • @thesumo24 That's because "The Clash At Demonhead" is the name of the band in the movie that he's in.

  • i borrowed this from my friend back in the day;it turned out being one of my fav games..this and xexyz..

  • scott pilgrim anyone?

  • @aristottlesdeathwish It's kind of sad that everyone suddenly knows about this game because of Scott Pilgrim, when I was renting it as a 10 year old kid in 1991 when nobody understood or gave a shit about these kind of games.

  • @phubans I think it's cool cos it brings attention to these games. I knew about this game from a rom, didn't play it when my sister had a nes...

  • @phubans why is that sad? nobody still really gives a shit about these kind of games, but wouldn't another person that knows about it now and can nerd out with you on it be a GOOD thing?

the thing about games like this and Ufouria and other forgotten NES gems, is that they SHOULD be enjoyed by more people. sheesh, not to troll but i feel like you're treating it like it's some post-punk band that green day referenced so now its not as cool to like it or something.

  • @warmghosts No, it's not the same if they geek out about it with me, because they'd be geeking out about it for entirely different reasons. A select few people like myself DO give a shit about games like these out of nostalgia, and we're a group of people that experienced them first-hand when nobody else did... So it's just kinda lame that now the top-rated comment is "scott pilgrim anyone?"

While I agree that these games deserve more exposure, it shouldn't be through something more popular.

  • @phubans Hey, it happens. Just roll with it.

At the very least, it's not THAT popular, considering it only made back half its budget in theaters. :P

  • @Sprocketman Let's see how much it makes in dvd & blu-ray.

  • @aristottlesdeathwish nahhh really duhhhhh

  • I guessed a code for this game back in the day and it actually worked.

  • It's nice to see Ron Jeremy and his son have a store in this game.

  • i rented this when i was a kid being a kid i got bored after playing the game for a few minutes now that im older i realised how much of a mistake i made i had forgotten the name of the title for years now i know what its called and i now know how awesome this game is i was a kid so i didnt know i was about 4 or 5

  • i love the your character's dying animation in this game lol-best dying animation of al time

  • I always loved how games like this and Megaman that looked so Jap Anime, but had such horrible box art, like something from a 1960's sci fi film. The Megaman ones were reaaallly bad though.

This was one of my favorite NES games as a kid too, I still love the music!

  • TALKING TIME!

  • I've always laughed at the name Tom Guycot. As you said, it seems to be such a strange name for the evil skeleton leader of the seven governors, which is a good example of why I love this game so much.

  • I just got this game last week. I love this game. I used to draw the charecters for a comic I wanted to work on.

  • I don't see how anyone can beat games this long back in those days without a memory card. I could only beat short games, long ones like this game even though it was one of the best games ever was too hard to sit in front of ALL day.

  • maaaan.... its been aaages since I last played this game

had it when I was young, always got far, but was never able to beat it.

and now, 16 or so years later, I still have the box, but find myself unable to find the game :(

thanlfully my old nes is still alive and kicking ^_^

  • EPIC GAME

  • Man, I have fond memories of this game. You're right about the grinding, all the cool stuff required hours of grinding.

  • muahaha! i remember punching in a random password for this game and the ish worked!

  • yup. worked on a few other games too. megaman 2 comes to mind as one of them.

  • great game!

  • The monsters remind me of the ones in Legacy of the wizard

  • cool game, and ur a good player

  • FIghting Rowdy can be simpler. Duck and just rapidly fire staying ducked. He freezes from each shot and dies in seconds before reaching you.

  • who the hell is rowdy?

  • I find it wierd that Bang looks like Goku

  • @LightStreak567 I thought he looked more like Yamcha.

  • This game haunts my child hood. You know, I was so desperate for help for this game when I was a kid I went to the lengths of counting the bad guys in the instruction book (32 btw) and entering the password, ' 1ofthe32baddudes'. It sometimes worked. I'm going to really enjoy this playthrough... especially because there are a few bosses in this game I failed to conquer. AAAAARRGGHHH!.... Too much rum.....sry.....

  • he looks like.....Yamcha from DBZ! :-O

  • you took the words out of my mouth

  • @SheenaMarieBach And the shop keeper looks like Ron Jeremy.

  • @SheenaMarieBach

    HELL NO!

he loks like the thief goku meets, duh

  • Professor Plum's been kidnapped? Colonel Mustard must be involved!

Reminds me of Golgo 13 in some way, I think Vic Tokai was behind those games as well.

  • Yep you are correct.

  • 9:00

Wait... Did I see... No... Pokémon wasn't invented by that time period... It must be just some sort of mistake or coincidense.

  • alright i haven't played this in years

  • Are you playing this on an emulator or on a real nes?

  • The shop mechanic doesn't look too bad. Besides - it's good to see that Ron Jeremy found some work.

  • The problem is if you miss that shop icon when it falls the shop call will be wasted. Also, running out of shop calls sucks. Alot.

  • seems like a cool game. ive never heard of it but now i wanna play it.

  • Very interesting game, I need to try this out. I really like the idea of multiple stories on one main quest.

  • Man, I loved this game as a kid. My favorite part was shooting a friendly character an having that little "NO!" bubble pop up over their heads. (Like I said, I was a kid...)

  • Man, love that music at the beginning...great review/walkthrough as always.

  • I had no idea this game was so good D: !

I mean, i've played it in the past, but i just wrote it off as another simple sidescroller and never touched the game again, now i feel obligated to play through it myself ^_^ !

    in fact, i think i'll play along =3 !

  • Denied!!! Nice vid as always

  • has anyone in formed u that no one CARES

  • what the fuck! i never comented this vid. someone mustve used my account.SHIT!

  • oh nevermind, i did say "first." i coulnt see the comment. thought i said something like "this video sucks".

  • lol I was wondering what was said.

  • @mack123123123 ... Judging by the amount of comments and views, people who like classic gaming do. I dont understand people like you.. if you dont like a video, then why in hell are you watching, or searching for it for the matter? Troll.
