  • Really liked this movie. But wait for all the credits to role. Vital flashback clues pop in.

  • good music, but i didnt like the film, I prefeer John Carprnter's The Thing

  • @VictorHeavyMetal95 this movie is a prequal to John Carpenter's movie, both go together to form a continuation. Remember the opening to Carpenters movie, this is how this movie ended, so you are talking two different movies that are tied together

  • @dogbert2010 Take away the ending credits on the 2011 film, take away the opening credits to the 1982 film, make special end credits(cast, crew from both films into one).

Add them together and presto, your done with one big film!!!

  • I'm thinking of making a Fanfiction story of a The Thing and Adventure Time crossover. =D

  • I like it and the original both. Both have a creepy vibe.

  • I really hope that this is awesome like Carpenter´s version.

  • @Paranoid575

It's really good. It's not bad as people say it is. It explains a lot.

  • Ok, one of us is the thing, and I know it's not me because I'm jewish!......... Ok I lied. I just know I'm not the thing cause the last time I recall I was the one holding the Flamethrower ;).

  • I think that this isn't too bad. I like the original Morricone version a bit more since it is a great example of "less is more" in terms of music themes. But this is a tribute, and I think that it is a tribute performed carefully enough and showing the proper respect, which is what matters in the end :)

  • Sucks! Wasn't it enough to make a cheesy remake of the movie? Was it really necessary to take over the soundtrack an then add stupid shit to it? Filmmakers that put out stuff like this are just uninspired fakers!

I love the original soundtrack and therefore DESPISE this incarnation!

  • @An007dy You probably haven't even seen the prequel, especially since you think it's a remake.

  • @googab07 yes, off course! :)

  • Can I use this for a new home made horror movie? :)

  • did you love the re-rendition of this theme in the prequel?

it was so amazing, i loved these beat.

  • it's a shame the actual movie didn't hold a candle to the john carpenter film. The screenwriter should have been fired for producing such an action paced mess of a film.

  • 1 out of the 30 of us is not human...You (points with flamethrower) "Open your mouth"

  • Thank you all!

  • 1 of us 31 people are the thing. I guess we'll see what happens next.

  • lady runs passed the guy with glasses

    "RUN!"

*glasses guy stands there watching the thing run towards him*

*thing impales him with a sword like manifestation*

    RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGHHHHH!!

  • Long live The Thing!

  • Shoot that fucking dog! Why do you suck so much at aiming?! shoot iiiiiiiiiiiit!!!!!!

  • @arcticridge I was like .. poor dog, and then FUCKING THING , couldn't you choose any random black guy ? xd

  • I saw the move yesterday, and thought it was AWESOME! It's one of my favoritest movies now. Very creative, and its not exactly a remake of the movie, its a prequel.

  • best part 1:20 - 2:00

  • 1 out of 21 of us is the thing...

  • I like it!

  • This is just tedious, sorry.

  • @RogueRotting360 don't worry. Thank you for comment. :)

  • @RogueRotting360

    You're Tedious.

  • @madhammudeux Is that the best you've got?

  • @RogueRotting360 If you've never seen the 80s movie before, you wouldn't know that this is SUPPOSED to be slow paced and plodding, almost like a soft heartbeat. This isn't an action movie with loads of explosions an' whatnot, it's a quiet, creeping sort of thing that fills you with a sense of tension and uncertainty that today's "scary" movies with their cheap jump scares just can't compare too. This prequel they just made re-captured that pretty well, though, despite having some more action.

  • @NickonAquaMagna2 I've seen the original film dozens of times, and this is nothing like the music brilliant Moriconne composed for the film. The original theme has a very tight, eerie yet simple harmonic structure. This just meanders aimlessly with obnoxious sampled digital fx. Very unlike The Thing.

And yeah, i was the guy who voted this down.

    Blood test, anyone?

  • @RogueRotting360 Oh... My mistake, then. I thought you were saying the melody itself was bland, not this remix specifically.

  • @NickonAquaMagna2 Nah, I love the original melody. The thing this remix has got in common with it is the bass pulse and drone.

  • @RogueRotting360 That's all.

  • @RogueRotting360

    Yeh I've got more.

You're a stinky fart smelling cows arse!

  • @madhammudeux Thank you.

    My compliments to the chef.

  • @RogueRotting360

You're one of those fucking things man!!

    I CALL A BLOOD TEST!

  • @madhammudeux My chest...

    SOMEONE GET ME A DOCTOR!!!!

  • The orinigal is better. More brooding. No crescendo. The music just 'is'; like the The Thing is just 'the thing'.

  • Heh, your soundtrack is better than the one in the film, actually. Good work!

  • CHECK OUT THE FACEBOOK OFFICIAL FAN PAGE THING FEST ! AS WELL AS MY CLIPS.....THE THING !RULES

  • I Like how you looped this together to make an interesting "Thing" Theme.

I'm working on a machinima fan-sequel two both the carpenter original, and the prequel

I'm not as good as you, but

I have made some music for it. Check it out on my YouTube page if you get a chance.

  • Is this an official track? Sounds great by the way.

  • @GOJIRAxTAIxBIORANTE

    yes its official

soundtrack comes out on october 11th on cd's in stores everywhere,

while film comes out october 15th :) <3

  • Excellent tribute to the original!

  • Excellent tribute to the original!

  • Although I enjoy what you have done with this track, I thought that the main 'theme' of the film (the famous 'dun-dun....dun-dun....') was Carpenters composition, and that Morricone was quite unhappy with how Carpenter didn't use his score in a very significant way, choosing instead to add more of his own music instead (the electronic works)? Don't get me wrong, I love the soundtrack and listen to it often, but you can see the strong differences in style between Carpenter and Morricone...

  • @FormerHuman I agree with you, FormerHuman. =)

  • @FormerHuman I'd really like to know for certain, as the original theme has Carpenter written all over it, but he is not properly credited as a composer anywhere...maybe I need to watch the special features of the DVD some more to find out...
