ive read the book and i liked it... but i guess theres nothing extra ordinary about it. the story line is very simple which the author extended to make it a 4 books. which i think is totally unnecessary... the only thing we wanted to know is will bella end up with edward... and that's what exactly happened in the first book already... no need for other 3 books right? he could have bitten bella at the first book already if that is the only reason why there are 3 other books.

Dan's play on Broadway is almost the worst in terms of box office. Only two other plays have fewer seats sold than his. I think his play will close early. It is not doing well.

I don't get the Twilight/Harry Potter comparisons, either. They virtually have nothing in common. One is a love story with vampires. The other is a "heroic quest" type of tale with wizards. Yes, they're both popular, but so are a ton of others books.
When Harry Potter becomes a series revolving solely around Harry and Ginny's relationship, with no real plot showing up until the last 20 pages or so, then we can have the Twilight/Harry Potter comparison, lol.

I think if you compare all the HP movies and this Twilight movie, you'll see which one is hands down the best. I don't know why people would or are comparing since they're both completely different stories, but HP movies and books 100% authentic and original. The major difference between Twilight and HP is that HP sucks in both movies and books. Whilst Twilight books by Stephanie Meyer were great pieces of work (not my fav. since i'm a Stephen King fan but still good). Twiglight movie was okay mainly because it remained true to its book counterpart as much as possible.

I've read both Harry Potter and Twilight and in my opinion Harry Potter is clearly better. It doesn't make Twilight a bad series. It's okay, I mean it's not great literature but it's fun to read and I too became obsessed with some of the characters from it. I think it's stupid to compare them though because they are so different. Harry Potter is epic, it's a coming-of-age adventure story and Twilight is a love story. They are very different and shouldn't be compared.

Stephenie Meyer writes too much 'swooning' and 'fainting' and 'couldn't catch her breath' crap. Bella is always fainting and stuff like that. The vampires are 'beautiful beyond anything'. Excuse me while I go and throw up. Five hundred pages of 'swooning and lusting' gets kinda boring real fast. Especially when there is no spark in Meyer's writing. Her characters aren't memorable. I read four hundred pages of Twilight and I cannot even recall a single scene.
It's not as comlicated as Harry Potter is, but they are still really good books. The Twilight series does have that dark romance that I love, but there's not as many levels to Twilight as there is to Harry Potter. Still, Twilight has Edward Cullen and he is just perfect and amazing and so easy to fall in love with...
It's a really tough choice for me, but if I had to pick one or the other I would pick Harry Potter just because it's got more depth.
Harry Potter is amazing. It's not predictable, & anyone who says it is has either not read the whole series, or is a complete & utter moron. The HP characters have so many levels to them, & you have to be able to read well to see those levels. You have to really understand them. To me, Harry Potter books are for intelligent people, & that makes me love them even more because I'm part of a fan base that isn't full of idiots.

ive always been able to tolerate the changes they make in the harry potter movies and the stuff they cut out because at least the acting is always fantastic and so believable. but twilight was just an awkward mess and whoever wrote the script should be shot. Equus is a very demanding role. can you imagine how much hard work it is for him performing a play for consecutive nights? and still give the same level of energy every time. Of course Dan takes acting seriously. Have you even read or seen Equus?

Yes, it seems that they DO know some pacifying techniques. I took the Sorting quiz in the website when the first movie was coming out and I was sorted into Slytherin...been one ever since, although Ron was my all time favorite. Only now did I fully appreciate the awesomeness that is Malfoy. Strangely enough, despite his brief scene in DH, I'm more of a Scorpius than Draco or Lucius fan. Since Jo Rowling said he'd be a better person than his family, I can't help but think he'll be like Sirius.
And it might be because Draco would be a much different father figure than Lucius was. The war brought him down a few pegs. (hopefully he still retains some inner snark in there somewhere). But he has that grudging respect of Harry that Jo talked about... I hope all the meanness hasn't dissipated. XD

Easy... I am a huge HP fan - I was one of those people who, upon finishing DH, flipped back to the first page and re-read the whole thing again.
BUT - I am also a Twilight fan. I acknowledge that Twilight never will reach the success of Harry Potter, not even close - but I can still appreciate the books and the film. There is no reason to bash Twilight fans just becuase you don't personally like it.

It amuses me how annoyed the Twilight haters get by people enjoying Twilight. Does it really matter that much? honestly? Does someone enjoying something impact THAT much on your life?
Potter & Twilight rock, but if you don't like either of them then I'm not going to start chucking insults at you and 'hoping you bleed to death,' because frankly I couldn't give a rats arse if you like it or not. It's a movie and ultimatley has no effect on your life. They make me happy. thats it.

i think that twilight is working really hard to sell itself out. you always see it in the magazines because of rob and his "love triangle" but harry potter doesn't need that because harry potter is actually a good movie. i mean, twilight's alright, but it's nothing compared to harry potter so twilight feels the need to keep the spotlight on theselves by doing all this love triangle crap...i'm actually getting sick of twilight for that....

ive read the book and i liked it... but i guess theres nothing extra ordinary about it. the story line is very simple which the author extended to make it a 4 books. which i think is totally unnecessary... the only thing we wanted to know is will bella end up with edward... and that's what exactly happened in the first book already... no need for other 3 books right? he could have bitten bella at the first book already if that is the only reason why there are 3 other books.

I don't get the Twilight/Harry Potter comparisons, either. They virtually have nothing in common. One is a love story with vampires. The other is a "heroic quest" type of tale with wizards. Yes, they're both popular, but so are a ton of others books.
When Harry Potter becomes a series revolving solely around Harry and Ginny's relationship, with no real plot showing up until the last 20 pages or so, then we can have the Twilight/Harry Potter comparison, lol.

I think if you compare all the HP movies and this Twilight movie, you'll see which one is hands down the best. I don't know why people would or are comparing since they're both completely different stories, but HP movies and books 100% authentic and original. It's brilliant and all the little twilight fanatics hating on them need to grow up. I don't hate twilight, but I know which one is the best. Dan is artisitc, although I think he might need a little help in the acting department.

The major difference between Twilight and HP is that HP sucks in both movies and books. Whilst Twilight books by Stephanie Meyer were great pieces of work (not my fav. since i'm a Stephen King fan but still good). Twiglight movie was okay mainly because it remained true to its book counterpart as much as possible.

I've read both Harry Potter and Twilight and in my opinion Harry Potter is clearly better. It doesn't make Twilight a bad series. It's okay, I mean it's not great literature but it's fun to read and I too became obsessed with some of the characters from it. I think it's stupid to compare them though because they are so different. Harry Potter is epic, it's a coming-of-age adventure story and Twilight is a love story. They are very different and shouldn't be compared.

Stephenie Meyer writes too much 'swooning' and 'fainting' and 'couldn't catch her breath' crap. Bella is always fainting and stuff like that. The vampires are 'beautiful beyond anything'. Excuse me while I go and throw up. Five hundred pages of 'swooning and lusting' gets kinda boring real fast. Especially when there is no spark in Meyer's writing. Her characters aren't memorable. I read four hundred pages of Twilight and I cannot even recall a single scene.

It's not as comlicated as Harry Potter is, but they are still really good books. The Twilight series does have that dark romance that I love, but there's not as many levels to Twilight as there is to Harry Potter. Still, Twilight has Edward Cullen and he is just perfect and amazing and so easy to fall in love with...
It's a really tough choice for me, but if I had to pick one or the other I would pick Harry Potter just because it's got more depth.

It opens up to the readers. It's funny,sad, and random. Twlight is just love and courage. You can explain HP better than Twilight. Rob & Dan = are the equal actors.

did that guy say that HBP was the 7th film? wow he must not of even heard of Harry Potter. Last time i checked HBP was the 6th book and movie. Were they talking about Deathly Hallows? I thought they were shooting them back to back? Any way, Deathly Hallows will be split into 2 movies, so are they talking about Half Blood Prince or Deathly Hallows part 1?

Dan has grown a lot as an actor. He's made a lot of effort to explore different roles not just Harry Potter.

I agree with you. sorry dan radcliffe fans. I used to be so in love with him! so passionate in the first three movies, but (sorry everyone) I think he's a bit snobbish. And he does look hot, but he's not my type of guy anymore like when I was 8 and HP came out and I WAS SO OBSESSED! XD Dreamed about HP and dan. Just all that. And I'm also sorry to say this but dan's acting got a little weird over the last few movies. but in OOTP he was awesome, but there were bad moments. Just my opinion. :[

ive always been able to tolerate the changes they make in the harry potter movies and the stuff they cut out because at least the acting is always fantastic and so believable. but twilight was just an awkward mess and whoever wrote the script should be shot. (seriously, was it the same guy who did the script for the eragon movie? i mean, its that bad!)but on to dan and the fun interview, i gotta agree the hype over twilight is getting a little old and some of the "twihards" seriously scare me.

i love both book series, but i have to say, the twilight movie was dreadful and i thank god i dont have to pay for movie tickets or i would have asked for my money back. the acting in it, sorry rob, was god awful from bella and edward the 2 main characters.

twilight was a shitty movie, it was not cast too well, most of the cast couldn't act,i love the book and even though the movie looked like crap i decided to give it a chance, i ended up leaving after an hour because it made me want to eat my brain...
stephenie meyers is an amateur compared to JK, their writing shouldn't even be compared..her books are so famous because of her characters and catchy storyline, other than that her plots are crap and writings nothing special...its all about HP =D

absolutely right, one of the things that sets hp and twilight miles apart were the endings. please! do not compare the last hp book with breaking dawn wich was horrible! no climax, no sacrifice.. just no sense at all really in the story.and the twilight movie was good but not great, i mean couldn't they have done better than that!

The movies are great. ^_^ YATES TO COMPLETE THE SERIES!! I am also loving the gorgeous gold-hued cinamatography that we're seeing in the promo stills and trailers. Bring on HBP 2009!!!! I'm not even angry about the date change any more- after that cool Domestic trailer we got. And It had a glimpse of Draco in it!!! Sorry about going off on a tangent lol. XD

Yes, it seems that they DO know some pacifying techniques. I took the Sorting quiz in the website when the first movie was coming out and I was sorted into Slytherin...been one ever since, although Ron was my all time favorite. Only now did I fully appreciate the awesomeness that is Malfoy. Strangely enough, despite his brief scene in DH, I'm more of a Scorpius than Draco or Lucius fan. Since Jo Rowling said he'd be a better person than his family, I can't help but think he'll be like Sirius.

And it might be because Draco would be a much different father figure than Lucius was. The war brought him down a few pegs. (hopefully he still retains some inner snark in there somewhere). But he has that grudging respect of Harry that Jo talked about... I hope all the meanness hasn't dissipated. XD

Easy... I am a huge HP fan - I was one of those people who, upon finishing DH, flipped back to the first page and re-read the whole thing again.
BUT - I am also a Twilight fan. I acknowledge that Twilight never will reach the success of Harry Potter, not even close - but I can still appreciate the books and the film. There is no reason to bash Twilight fans just becuase you don't personally like it.
Why are you so obsessive about this, anyway? Do you feel that HP is threatened by Twilight?
