  • I've never seen a Stephen King move that has come up to the books.

  • I began to read the book last night. It's so tense and awesome!

  • Great movie but the real downer was the look of the creatures, this is one movie imo that should be remade; it'd be cool if they could make the Langoliers in the same likeness as the shadow people and as the black smokish entities get close the smoke starts eating the victims away like a black hole.

  • Can you imagine if this movie had a great pay off instead of shitty CGI effect pooballs?

  • @Sneezlebob: Agreed! The only downside to me was how the langoliers actually looked. It would've been better if we never saw them at all. Overall, it was a great show.

  • haha i remember watching this when i was little..my dad had already watched it and told us we would have nightmares forever if we did(of course he was kidding..but we didnt kno that then :P )..i remember gripping the couch in fear lol :D..but looking at it now i see how funny it looks

  • I rented this movie in my local library when I was around 10 and remember writing about how weird it was in my diary.

  • one of my favorite stories.. gripped me till the end .. have read it many times.. fascinating concept.. havent seen the movie - am sure it wont match my imagination .. but will like it anyway if i keep the book out of mind while watching. where can i look for it?

  • @n3nits

    Dumpstore xD

  • the movie was just as i imagined it while reading

  • A really scary movie.....but then most people live in a parrallel universe anyway but how many see how spooky their world really is!!

  • The book is much better. So good actually, that it is my favorite book by Stephen King so far. Haven't read them all yet

  • This movie scared the shit out of me when I was 10. After watching, I didn't like airplanes, airports, Pacman, Rice Crispy Treats, or people. I look at some of the clips and the visual effects are silly but i will never watch the movie again.

  • Awarded best special effects in my mind :P

  • I seen this on the "Horror Channel" (on TV) and it was a good thrill!!!!!!!!

  • What book is the movie based off of?

  • @jamesfelix303 The langoliers by Stephen King

  • i was so scared watching this movie. especially when that guy was tearing up those papers I was crying so hard. T_T

  • Saw this when I was young.. damn this thing was disturbingly scary!!

  • As everybody here, I saw this movie when I was like ~5 and finally I know the name of this weird movie !!!!!

  • Why is it that all of Stephen King's masterpieces are always ruthlessly butchered and reduced to shit? Such a pity

  • I remember seeing this when i was around 10-12ish. I gotta say seeing this film back then was really something. The whole empty feel of being in the past made this film scary! It feels like its not a place to linger about... and plus i think the VHS version had 4 tapes i think, it was a long ass movie! About 3 hours long if i remember.

  • I love the empty feel of this story...

  • i was like 8-10 too , this movie always was in my subconcient thats the effect :D, finally i found it wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  • @olgakitz exactly same story here

  • Reminds me a lot of the Lost pilot?

  • this film is junk

  • I'm so happy that I finally found that movie, I watch it like when I was8-9 and I did'nt forget about this movie it alweys been in my mind and now I 24

  • I loved stephen king movies when I was like 12.

  • HE WILL EAT ALIVE!!!!!!! BLARGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • When I was little I was scared watching this on ABC when it came out. When I saw the ending, the only thing that made me happy was how there was an airport with nobody there and candy machines just waiting to be eaten.

  • @buttagood4you that candy would taste like chalk. Quite literally.

  • funny thing is that the way they showed the langoliers was probably super high tech graphics back then

  • Can't believe Dean Stockwell actually delivered a bad performance in this. I think it was the direction because he's a great actor. But the little girl's actually pretty good.

  • Pacman-the movie

  • Love the L-1011 Tristar ♥

  • TOM HOLLAND!!!! Outlined in shiny metallic lettering!

  • I need to watch this again don't remember much besides the fact that it scared the shit outta me when i was a kid.

  • One of my favorite S. K. stories...and the movie is actually watchable, as opposed to so many other attempts to turn his books into movies.

  • L-1011 is beautiful...

  • i saw this when i was less then 10 and i remember i thought even then the Langoliers were fake looking and silly

  • I remember watching this when i was little, and I just thought about it. I remember it as being super creepy lmfao i'm gonna watch it again.

  • @mrswolgangamozart Haha! That is the exact same thing with me! I cried my ass off at the age of 8 when i saw the langoliers. Gonna watch it again, 13 years later now.

  • i watched this when i was like ~10 or less and found it very disturbing yet interesting at the same time. Somehow managed to watch it even though the monsters cared me shitless

  • @wHisperis001 Same here!!! I was maybe even younger than 10.. yesterday my brother downloaded the movie and i just watched it.. memoriess!!

  • @wHisperis001 me too i had nightmares about the mosters for days.

  • I felt that they needed to show more of the Langoliers...after all it is called "The Langoliers" not "We Are in the Past and We Need to get Back" that aside, the movie was great! Stephen King ftw!!

  • wow thats wierd. i had the same experience with this movie as you guys. saw it as a kid and typed a description in google to find the name haha

  • well up until they show the "langolier" i like the movie

  • Oh, I remember it! Interesting film xD

  • i saw the movie...I never wanna ride a plane EVER again! Not even kidding!

  • Yeh it's a great film!

  • Should I even watch it?

  • this use to scare the hell out of me when i was like 3 LOL

  • I'm reading this right now and just decided to peek at the trailer. I shouldn't have. This is NOT how I was picturing Dinah...

  • I have to agree with everyone.. good movie but the langolier things are just RIDICULOUS!! And ya meatballs just give them the perfect title and clue about this movie.. meatballs are the main threat in this movie

  • @YourMajesty100

How would you make time-eating creatures look? Like dragons? Or like any generic looking fantasy creature?

Since atomic particles are sphere shaped, and pretty much all large objects in the Universe and even the universe itself is said to be sphere shaped, what other possible shape could those "time-eaters" possibly have if they are part of the Universe?

Sigh, yet another person that focuses on the visuals rather than the story itself.

  • @McLarenMercedes Mmm, ¿maybe little black holes?

  • I saw that movie when i was like 8 years old and it was in my mind for all these years and i didnt know the name of it..Today i just googled what i remembed of the plot and i found it :D

  • @olgakitz wtf...... haha the same thing happened to me today i finaly googled it

  • @olgakitz this happened to me today xD but i only wrote "movie in the 90s about a plane" and i found it :)) im gonna watch it now, i just saw a bit when i was a little kid

  • @olgakitz yep i came here for the same reason haha this movie is part of my childhood

  • @olgakitz Dude wtf I saw this movie about that age also. All I remembered was it was a horror movie and it had balls with teeth so I just typed in "balls with teeth horror movie" and it was like the 4th link haha.

  • @squidvis I just searched ¨balls with teeth horror movie¨. Lady Gaga was all i got. :O

  • @DavMasters You type it in google? Cuz I got Critters, Critters, Critters, Langoliers. lol

  • @olgakitz is the same thing happened to me, sorry if I write wrong, I speak Spanish

  • @keevinnc and the same for me :D but i speak german haha

  • @keevinnc hehe i didnt know this happened to so many people too ;D

  • @olgakitz That's the same exact thing that happened to me, except I found it today, lol. I searched something like 'psychic girl and airplane' haha :)

  • @olgakitz you are not the only one with this story

  • @olgakitz Your comment made me feel that I am not alone. I did the same thing that's why.

  • @olgakitz same thing with me. Literally

  • @olgakitz oh my fucking god the same thing. when i was 7 when my dad was still around I watched this with him.

  • @olgakitz ME TOO LOL, this move has bean on my mind for years and years!!!!

  • @olgakitz is like if you wrote the same I was thinking.

  • How many years I have not seen this movie I remembered today, had shown a channel in my country some time ago...

  • Good movie. Got the imagination going....

  • i watched this when i was 5 and i havent seen it since... Until Today!

  • Great movie! They should remake it for 2011 it could be a big hit all over again like Titanic being redone in 3D for 2012! :D

  • watching this now on sci fi. forgot this movie existed.

  • loved the book

  • SCARING THE LITTLE GIRL?!?

  • JUST FINISHED THE BOOK. MY GOD.

This looks like a pile of shit though....

  • @collin292 It was made in 1995 you stupid fag hole not the greatest graphics back then.

  • This video was nowhere NEAR SCARY. I was rolling on the floor over how stupid it looked.

  • @psgchisolm The movie itself was not bad. I mean it's a 16 year old movie so don't expect incredible effects. The movie was still good.

  • scares the shiet out of me when i was a kid, but dude now that im a man.....still :S

  • This movie scared the crap out of me during 3rd grade...

  • JUST finished the novella not two minutes ago. I've read "IT," and "The Tommyknockers" and now this. I wish I was 1/10th as good at any craft as the King is at writing brilliant stories.

  • Snoogins

  • Meeuuu esse filme do mestre king é demais!!!!!!!!!!

  • Effects obviously might not have been so great but man I liked it. Lots of suspense and make you think and theorize. What did ruin it is the actual langoliers, they shoulve just made them invisible eating through everything just like the scene with the trees falling a classic and great movie

    Defiantly not boring

  • Check out those special effects. Looked so real i thought i was actually there.

  • @mrcheesesmith LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • The attack of the hungry pac-man. The payoff ruins this movie.

  • I love how every Stephen King movie has a lot of suspense and scary atmosphere going on, but when the actual threat is revealed, it's just fucking retarded and not scary at all.

It would've been okay if everything just disappeared like time is erasing itself, but nah, it's meatballs eating the past.

  • cept nothing, ate nobody... fucking bullshit.

  • i love how the girl uses the man as a decoy to save herself at the end XD

  • "I am late from meeting, must kill people"

Does books have reason for this or is the reason really in the movie?

  • when I was kid then this movie scared the crap out of me.

  • GREAT MOVIE

  • the ending disappointed me =(

    stupid sky vagina

  • @TotalSpookyTown that's why he had that jizz face whenever he did it

  • SCARING THE LITTLE GIRL!!!

  • good book shit ass movie

  • This is probably one of the best adaptations of any book that I know

  • holy crap! haha this scared me sooooooo bad when i was a kid!! i had nightmares! and then it was on scifi last night and hahahaha it's so terrible. just like anaconda

  • Can someone please tell me why Mr. Toomey kept ripping paper? Was that supposed to symbolize something or just another weird thing that he does

  • @TheTellybean

when the kid describes the approaching sound as "rice crispies in milk" and they both knew something was coming....the paper tearing sounded just the same as the kid described.. thats the impression I had about why he was doing it whether he did it subconsciously or not

  • i enjoy this book1

  • 0:21 Vagina much?

  • 0:23 Vagina much?

  • Stephen King's is good at suspense but when it comes down to actual literature, he sucks the big one. Hard.

  • The character of Laurel was completely terrible. Depressing even.

  • The movie is crap.

    However the book is masterpiece.

  • I watched this when I was a kid. Glad the NC reminded me, it's gripping all the way through, if nothing else.

  • this is one of those saturday morning movies that you watch in your bed because you are too lazy to get up

  • Worst CGI EVER!!!!! XDXDXD

  • I laughed. A Lot. More than It, more than The Mist. how can you say that the monsters sound like Rice Krispies when you poor in the milk, and not expect to laugh?

  • I loved the book, though I laughed reaaaally hard when those monsters showed up in the movie...

  • @Preposisjon I didn't read the book, but saw the movie on tv years ago. I exactly remember how tense I was and then the monsters came and I had to laugh just like you. That part of the movie was kind of embarassing... ;)

  • @ShiekahTribe xD Indeed!

When I saw the first monsters I went from "AAAAAAAH-WTF?"

  • I remember seeing this when I was 6. My Family rented it. It was amazing back then. I saw Nostalgia Critic's Review and thought why not see it again? NC is correct on every point. The Langoliers at the end has got to be the biggest letdown ever in movie history, Were they seriously building 3 hours up to some shitty ass CGI Gorilla Testicles with Glass Shards as teeth?? It wasn't scary as it used to be, It was bad. Really bad.

  • The nostalgia of this movie is strong with me. As I watched it in my early teens, it turned my crush on the blind girl into the fetish for disabled chicks I have today.

    Great memories indeed.

  • This movie had the worst villain ever

  • Hey dude wanna fly through the sky-gina?

  • SCARING THE LITTLE GIRL?!?!?!

  • @WalDemento999 that was a good one ;)

  • wow I remember seeing this on Scifi channel or something years ago when I was still pretty young, and I thought it was the coolest movie ever har har.

  • thumbs up if Nostalgia Critic brought you here.

  • It was Jigsaw who put them into the past. He just wanted to play a game.

Btw I wonder what happened when their airplane "appeared" in the present. BAM !! New aircraft on the airport. Then Mulder and Scully would have investigated the case.

  • this film is the best film ever made... billy is a bit of a ted and mr tombi is full on badboi your all well shit innit

  • OMG I was like 10 years old when I first saw this movie.....oh brings memories back

  • @senadphoenix me too. I loved this film back when I saw it once as a kid and the effects seemed awesome back then.

ever since then I sometimes remembered about this film and those creatures in the end (which seemed a lot cooler in my memory) but I couldn't remember its name so I never re-watched it. until now when the nostalgia critic reviewed it.

now the film looks stupid and the efffects seem terrible. in a way it ruined my memory of it

  • Yup remembered watching this movie but had no idea of the title till today

  • The Emptyness of the Airport gave it a Twilight Zone Apocalyptic feel. They were lucky to have the right group of people who put the jigsaw together very quickly. If it were the characters from 'Lost' they would been seriously screwed....

  • @BuddhaZenMind if they were the characters from 'lost' they would have encountered the mystery of the langoliers and then just moved on to some other mystery, leaving the other one unanswered. thats basically the formula of the show - create a mystery, dont resolve it, create another mystery, dont resolve...and so on. but yehi agree with you about the twilight zone effect. its great! so eery.

  • for me to find this movie,i keept on typing time travel movies and didn't get it.now years have past,i remembered that the movie had an aircraft involved and typed ,'time travel movies with planes' and FINALLY GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @457azazazaz I hear ya pal. I found it by googling "tv mini series alternate reality deserted airport".

I remember my 6 year old self staying very late at night between school days just to watch this one, for the first and the last time. Until today.

  • haha oh shit, i remember this, i was like 5 or 7 and i just typed "airport blind girl monsters" on google because i only remembered balls eating an airport.

  • I can remember reading thr Four Past Midnight book when i was little and can honestly say, Langoliers is probably the best book I have ever read.

  • One of the greatest books ever written. The only film that has managed to scare me.

  • i've been to bangor international airport. it was strange to watch the langoliers eat the airport. in the film i recognized the seat i was sitting in as i waited for the plane to germany and the four points hotel.

  • THIS IS THE BEST FOUR HOUR MOVIE EVER MADE IN 1995

  • Comment removed

  • they dont look like how i pictured them

  • technically it wasn't a movie,it was a 2 part mini series , this is the best they could do with it. and i imagine that if some day Sy Fy did it a some crappy remake

  • the book was awesome

    just like stephen king ES

but the movies are almost always SHIT

  • the special effects and actors sucks in this movie. time for a remake ;-)

  • i liked this movie so much in the 90s

  • just watched it shit house

  • all i remember is the pylons crashing down...everytime i see one i think of this movie....and Mr Toomey!

  • Comment removed

  • ''Well done Sam, great idea!! Ziggy says theres a 95% chance flying back through the aurora will work!!

Then why haven't I leaped Al?

''Because you leaped into the body of Mark Lynsey Chapman, and he's the guy that croaks saving all of us! Ziggy says the chances of you ever having been fucked in the ass that hard at any time in your life are 0%''

  • this movie gives huge sense of being free. like u'r all alone in the world, with the whole plane and a small group. various new situations. empty for you airports, lots of space. anything you wanna do, except for the airport with spoiled food and bad air. nice work, love it!

  • Stephen Kings rules

  • This movie was cheesy as hell but frightened the shit out of me

  • brill movie. 3hrs long and entertaining from start to finish.

  • What are you guys talking about? It never showed any creatures in the movie. It just ended with the people looking out the window at the plane.

  • @codyoty that's part one, there's another part

  • @codyoty they just never showed part 2 of the movie on chiller lastnight pissed me off because i remember it when i was 7 or 8

  • is this movie two partys cuz i was watching this on chiller and it cut of like wtf

  • this movie scared the shit out of me when i was a kid, but i still thought the pacmen at the end was stupid.

  • I didn't think this was scary...is it really classified as a horror film?

  • Absolutely brilliant... that 90's look everything has... it's awesome.

  • Man, after reading the book... this trailer sorta kills the image I had of everything.
