It's Republic of China. After 1949 Communists took over mainland, found People's Republic of China, and pushed Republic of China to island Taiwan. That's how Taiwan and China got separated. During the war Taiwan was ruled by Japan, after Japanese were defeated in 1945, Taiwan was back to Chinese (Republic of China) rule.

Pearl Harbor only happened at the Harbor. There were only 3000 deaths, which is 100 times smaller then the Firebombings dealt to the Japs. The Firebombings happened throughout the nation, whilst Pearl Harbor only happened at Pearl Harbor. There's a big difference.
