    in that room.

  • Musical heaven baby!..............

  • A wonderful blend of two giants! I love this and the way they respect each others. styles. Always get a chill witth Al at 3:58. Thanks for posting this!

  • @cleanheadcole Was that Billy Preston on the keys?

  • @jim1985atx Yes Indeed.

  • Now that's some music.

  • Los Profesonales.

  • Doesnt get much better than that!

  • Great !!!!

  • the hug at the end said it all.

  • @briggs411 the hug at the end said it all?? Said what? i'm confused

  • Holy Fock is that good! Willie....this is your tune. Enjoy the beauty.

  • ♪♪ Fantastic!! Who woulda thought! All great musicians & Don Was producing! Watched it 3x now. Wish I'd seen it sooner! ♪♪

  • A Willie Nelson-penned evergreen.

  • Great seeing the Great Billy Preston on this.

  • @nyrichiek . . . . I loved Billy too . . . . He's just a much a musical legend as the people he's backing . . . .

  • The preview ads are a MAJOR TURN-OFF!

  • This is what happens when music genius collides. Amazing!

  • WoW good euphonic studio. GTSY

  • chuuurrrr!

  • Sad Song. For now. ;)

  • The Rev. Al Green and Lyle workin' out on one the best songs Willie Nelson ever dreamed up and the back up band was righteously majestic, as close to perfection that we humans can possibly hope to achieve!

  • We should ALL say THANK YOU to Al and Lyle for this piece of genius as well as the players and Don Was for putting it together....

  • Very very good cover. Loved it

    Eric

  • Billy Preston!!!! IMHO one reason you don't hear many covers of this song is that Narvel Felts high note was the hook on the original hit. Al Green was the man to repeat that interval with his amazing voice. Amazing talents from a to z.

  • @lionmojo My first introduction to this song was when it was covered by The Spinners back in 1982. The lead singer, John Edwards nailed the high part like nobody I have ever heard before or since.

  • @lionmojo OK I just went to check out Narvel, whom I had never heard of prior to reading your comment. You definitely need to check out The Spinners' version. If you think Narvel had a great falsetto, your hair is gonna fall out when you hear John Edwards.

  • My beloved Mom who passed over on 8/25/09 loved her some Al Green. I also grew to love him as well listening to songs like "Love and Happiness" and " Let's stay together" on the 8 track cassette player as we took road trips in Dad's Chevy station wagon. I was privileged to introduce this version of this great song to Mom in '02. Needless to say, it became one of her all time favorites. Good music and great artists are truly a gift from above.

  • P.S. My #2 pick would be Patti Labelle and Travis Tritt doing Sam and Dave's "When Something Is Wrong With My Baby". Travis was not afraid to go there with Ms. Patti! LOL!!

  • I bought the video cassette when this first came out and played it until it would'nt play anymore! I enjoyed all the duets but this was 1st on my list. While the Reverend was doing his thing, Lyle slid right under that groove with that really cool laidback voice and cruised right along with him. And the musicians?? Please!! Don Was put the first string on the field and they were awesome. This was a once in a lifetime thing and I am glad I was around to see and hear this.

  • Two national treasures on one song. It couldn't get any better.

  • Great song. Great artists. Having the legendary Billy Preston doesn't hurt either.

  • Love this song...

  • It's a shame the cover done by Rainer Ptacek from his album Worried Spirits isn't available on you tube, in my opinion the most moving version ever.

  • Man!!! My dad had this CD yrs ago... I love this version!

  • bellissima!!!!

  • God, I do LOVE me some Lyle Lovett!

  • They are really good together , two great artists

  • They are really good together

  • Two of my favorite men in music together, what could be better?

  • this is the song

  • This goes right to your country soul!! I want this song played at my funeral!

  • Sweet like syrup, thick like chocolate and leaves you wanting more

  • Awesome! No matter what flavor -- Country or R&B -- soul is soul. These 2 are naturals together.

  • I enjoy this version BUT the version sung by the Spinners is Fantastic!!!!

  • this is such a cool version...two good voices that make harmony..........

  • When I first heard this song on the radio, I almost literally blissed out!! These two are fantastic!! Julia Roberts, you lost a really, really nice guy!

  • Oh my God this is sooooooooooooooooo cool!

  • Great vid. Exellent version! Both Al and Willy put their soul in their resp. version

  • I gotta go now, well I'll see ya some where around!!!! Al is one of a kind, toooo smoooth. He just moves me. If you like this one you gotta listen to Al sing Belle. I suggest you get your kleenex ready.

  • Great Video!

  • I love love love this song.... It's jazzy and so sexy... The words, rythms and composition is a master piece. I am a huge fan of Al Green since childhood and I'm forty.... Ly Lovett.... I'm a new huge fan of yours. Your voice is very sensual in this song. I look forward to listening to more of your music....

  • Really Like Al Green's Music,

  • Great vid!

  • love it

  • On the keyboards is the late great Billy Preston. This is a terrific video and the song is even better with Lyle Lovett added to this Al Green hit.

  • Glad they got together.

  • one word.........BIG

  • This is one of my favorite Al Green songs and Lyle Lovett adds so much to give it a new dimension. Al Green makes a song sound like he just recorded it with such enthusiasm. We love you in Houston!

  • Okay, don't get mad. I'm not giving it thumbs down.

I love LL and Rev. Green, but this was a disappointment, in fact most of the album didn't live up to it's potential.

They shoulda gotten someone else to sing with Al.

And check out "Stand By Your Man" video with Lyle & Tammy from the Leno show.

It was incredible and is a much better duet than this.

    IN MY OPINION.

  • The song sounds very good , but Lyle Lovett messed up the rest of the song , but Al Green sounds great .

  • Hey folks - I sincerely love this cover so much.

Does anyone know who the bassist is?

  • @Hoppo75 It's on the album "genuine rhythm and the blues," a various artists album. It's probably in the credits if u look up the album.

  • Hey folks - I sincerely love this cover so much.

Does anyone know who the bassist is?

  • What a fabulous cover of the best by God song Willie Nelson ever conceived! The Rev. Al Green workin' it out with his blue eyed soul brother Lyle ( That's Right He Is From TEXAS) Lovett! Thanks as always to You Tube!

  • The first time I heard this was in a shoe store. I stopped and stared at the ceiling speaker until it was over.

  • @zoomustard -- I've had the same sort of thing happen once or twice. Helluva feeling when you hear something marvelous for the first time, ain't it.

  • 5 stars to this version. Country+Soul+Blues !!! So great !!!

  • @iamEthan1978

Oh, YES By Golly - This version is the best I've heard - (other than the first)

    Love it

Never knew that Lyle was that COOL (Voice wise)
