  • my camera broke a long time ago :( ganyone knows how to do this with a phone?

  • wow..thanks dude :)

    the full self

  • Love it!!! I'm making one today!!!

  • @SnagsAndTangles

Thanks! Lemme know how it works out for you!

  • Simple but genius, been thinking about setting up a tripod to film ice fishing but this is great! I'm stealing your idea! Shutupandfish!

  • @johnnyoddandeven

Thanks! Works much better than a tripod!

  • That IS a good idea! Gonna try that.

  • @Mncat30

    Thanks!

  • nice idea! i think im gonna use it...thanx brother!

  • @TheCrankinguru

    Thanks man! It's super easy!

  • what size bolt is that ?

  • @datguy414

Metric 1/4 x 1/2. If you go to home depot its Bin No. 2700

    cheers

  • TWSS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheJojo812

    Haha to which part!

  • you really shouldnt have the camera up that far on the hat, but dont take my word for it, im not trying to be a dick about it

  • @thedamhulk

You mean don't have it so far towards the back of my head? How come? The reason I put it that far back is because it sat nicely balanced there. I was afraid if I put it too far toward the front it would be really front heavy and have a better chance of falling off.

  • @ShutUpAndFishCanada i have the mount just above where the sewing of the hat stops, idk whats its called, idk we all have our opinions

  • I recommend putting a nut on top and just leaving enough thread so that your camera is always aligned forward I made my own version too awhile back mine looks like the one you buy but my mount is aluminum instead of cheap plastic like their version

  • @TieOneOnFishingProd

I guess that could work if you had a longer bolt. The bolt I was using was perfect with 2 washers. With the nut does the bolt screw right into the end of the camera mount? I am always nervous about it unscrewing and falling into the water if its not all the way in the mount.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

  • ok. Thanks for the help bud.

  • ok thanks. I have one question though will the end of the bill be in the way? and how well do hats stay on witb the weight of the camera?

  • @TeamMOSSYOAK25

Go to 2:00 in this video and you will see that there is no hat bill in the video. I haven't tested this with my gopro but I am pretty sure the bill won't be in view.

I have never had the camera or hat fall off. I do tighten the hat a bit more than I normally do just to avoid any incident when I set the hook or move around the boat. I would say that with most/any point and shoot cameras you will be fine. Just don't try to mount a big DSLR on your hat!

  • thanks for this video. I was always wondering how to make a hat cam with out going out and buying a mount. Thanks the video was great and very inspirational.

  • @TeamMOSSYOAK25 Thanks for the comment! I am glad I was able to help you out! If there are any other 'how to' videos you would like me to make just let me know!

  • Have you try a GoPro?

  • @iroman68 I have and it works great! I can post a video using the hatcam with my gopro if you want?

  • would you recommend doing this for another sport, like say airsofting?

  • @TheWalkthroughsRus For sure! You can use this for anything! Paintballing, fishing, airsofting, canoeing, dating, love making...

  • @ShutUpAndFishCanada XD haha... didn't know that last one was a sport...

  • rzg

  • Ha the intro looks really cool when you play it backwards :)

  • @zXAnTiDoTeXz Haha thanks bro! Thanks again for making it for me! I will post another bulletin for ya ;)
