In fact, the Nanking population increased to 277,000 from 200,000. Also all of the Nanking Massacre pictures were fabricated by Chinese government. Moreover, well-known witnesses about it admitted their stories were hearsay.
Japanese newspaper Asahi Shinbun, published on Dec. 18, 1937, five days after the occupation, reported scenes of the city in the article entitled, "Nanking in Restoring Peace": the pictures shows that Japanese soldiers buying from a Chinese, Chinese farmers who returned to Nanking cultivating their fields, Chinese citizens returning to Nanking, and Chinese adults and children smiling in front of barbershop on Street.
