  • F355 looks better on a crt imo, from this vid.

  • what is best tv to use with dreamcast vga?? I have a 42 inch but it's stretched too much, I had a 26 inch samsung which seemed best. how big is yours?

  • @drunkensailor112 Hmm...well I use a 19 inch LCD DVI monitor cos I like to get scanlines...but overall a CRT VGA monitor is best for the authentic arcade look...I have no real experience of those monitors though, I guess any one that still works off an old computer set up would be fine. If you want to get a DVI LCD monitor any Dell or some such would work well. You'll need to route the audio seperately though.

  • crt is definitely the best way. LCDs and plasmas will stretch the image.

  • Nice video matt, Outrun and F355 challenge are sega at there very best, Nice to see shenmue get a mention aswell, Shenmue 3 Needs to be made, What ever happend to sega, They used to make such good games,

  • @SCRATCHMASTERDAL Yeah, I had high hopes for the Yakuza series but even though it's an AM2 game it just doesn't do it for me. Too many repetitive fights and not enough atmosphere. And way too many long boring dialogues. Not that it isn't a cool game in its own right, but those of us who had hoped for some Shenmue genius were disappointed.

  • Excellent showcase some some superb Dreamcast games! Got them all as well! Among my favorite racers too!

  • @markvergeer Thanks brov.

  • I never played Le Mans, but i loved to play F355 and Outrun ! Got to play F355 in the next days :D

  • @JimyCalzone You gotta play Le Mans if you can manage to find a copy, it's a bit slow for some people (ie very unlike Need for Speed etc). but if you like slick racers it's up there with the best of them.

  • OMG! Le mans 24 ROCKED on the DC!

I totlally enjoyed it till the very last end!

No b-spec mode on the real 24 hours rece LOL!

I finished that with a ton of laps ahead the competition with the toyota GT1!

And i just loved the wind efects over the rear wing when going 300Kmh +:)!

    Thanks for the reminder!

Gonna get into that game again soon!

    Keep it cool!

    Cheers:)!

  • @shock25sr ah, amazing game, great memories here too, I think I completed a 7 hour race...wait I'll need to check in my memory card if I ever did complete that race!! Really dramatic and realistic wasn't it.

  • Stunning games. Did you say "driving like a nob?" What does that mean?

  • @vintagevideogamegeek LOL! Put politely, it means 'badly' !

  • This SGL-3000 is a brilliant device, thanks for putting up a video in such high quality so we can really see what it looks like. Outrun looks amazing and so does Ferrari F355 Challenge, both top games.

  • @BossBossly No worried dude. I'm really impressed by what the SLG can do. I understand it's brilliant with PCBs too - which can be converted into VGA if not already outputting that signal, by a $50 upscaler.

  • what exactly is scanline? I would be much appreciative if you could elaborate on that.

  • @ryanc519 Scanlines are the lines you see on CRT and Boobtube screens, and it makes predominatly 2D games look like they should with sprites, although I don't see how they help 3D games lest you just love the look of an ancient TV screen, as they are the lines that are produced by the scanning of the diode as it "writes" the image to the TV screen.

Basicaly it is a horizontal line you see on the screen, that make the 2D sprites look better than they do on an LCD screen, as they are clearer.

  • @BFKAnthony817 I meant to say the 2D sprites are more pronounced with scanlines.

If you have a PSP, it has a LCD that can emulate scanlines, and makes emulators of 2D games look better than they would sans the lines on a clear screen.

  • @BFKAnthony817 It seems to simply adjust the brightness / tone of the even / odd rows down a notch.

  • I have F355 and love it, but struggle to actually see the track sometimes with the fancy lighting. I dunno if that's just me.

  • @SteveBenway certainly on the sunset weather conditions it's slightly reminiscent of the Pink Floyd's set at the UFO in 1966 LOL!

  • Some real Yu Suzuki classics. F355 Challenge is my fave racer DC wise and think the learning curve is phenomenal, just so damn realistic isn't it. Never played LeMans in all honesty mate, looks good. Glad you've shown this quality line up. :D

  • @MENDEZ1628 Great choice bro, 355 is genius, the curve is just right and needs a fair bit of patience and holding back around corners, but does does the realism bite.

  • F355 Challenge is a great racer. Used give that a proper mash-up..... now stop pissing about and get that PS2 hooked up to your scaler, SLG & Espgaluda for some scanline heaven! :D

  • @Faginrs500 LOL! OK, I'll get onto it!!

  • Yeah, those three racers are great games!

  • @laatmaarzien sure are bro, top quality, in fact although not in HD as such they look every bit as impressive (and play as well) as any other racer I've played recently.
