  • also I must say in your 2loop+2loop combo, I don't think that you underrotated the second 2loop. For me, as far as I see, it was rotated.

  • Glad to see you back on the ice. Hope you're doing some type of physical therapy for your hip. As for your hands in that sit spin, I do the same thing in a toe loop; my coach calls it "hamster hands". Your skating is looking great. Can I borrow your ability for my test in December? Looking AWESOME!!

  • @PecanSandees23 Thank you so much. I am doing therapy to help heal the hip flexor issue. I hurt it prior to nationals and just ignored it. Now I'm paying for it. I lost confidence due to restrictions on skating, but I'm slowly working things back. What test is in December?

  • @PecanSandees23 awww, I'm sure you'll be fine. Any moves you need tips on? My huge pet peeve with moves is people don't bend enough. Exaggerate your knee bends. If you feel you bent enough, go deeper. Using the knees as good "springs" really creates immediate differences with edges, flow, etc.

  • @scootie12 Thanks. As soon as I see a judge, my knees stiffen right up. That outside mowhawk sequence is the bane of my esistance; I'm never on an outside edge! I have some time though. But, I would be willing to pay your airfare to come to NYC and take the test in a dress and a wig for me. Food for thought. :)

  • @scootie12 xD I'd love to! Hehe. Wellll, I can't for the life of me get the timing down for double toe... I can do it in the harness but of course as soon as coach takes me off, I have a hard time getting the weight transfer just right. So frustrating!

  • @charlinetje lol, yeah. Due to my hip flexor issue, I had to stop spinning for a while due to the pressure on my leg. I've been doing about 20 mins of spinning per practice now.

  • I always have issues when I try a broken leg spin. I just fall off my center completely, and I can't fix it. Weirdest thing. Ah well.

  • @RubikCuber1 I want to be able to stretch the leg out more, but I can tell you a lot of focus and force needs to be kept down the center in order to move the leg outward. If you're having troulbe, try extra hard to keep your body super squared off while doing the regular sit spin.
