Actually without the military you have nothing.. or soon will have nothing. Because all you worked for will be taken away from you by stronger and more aggressive militant elements. Many peaceful cultures have perished because they could not defend themselves from stronger neighbors. Think Tibet and alike. No army - no nation. Sorry....

Sheer idiocy. We are a nation of 300 MILLION people and have maybe 200k overseas. IT is our massive welfare state (which I'm sure this guy thinks is fine) that is and has been breaking our counntry since the '60s. Our military-industrial complex has been what has preserved freedom in the world from 1941 until now. No one else after WWII could perform this role and secretly, no one now (except terrorists and idiots) wants us to get out. I wish we could but who would take over: China? Russia?

If you've followed any of Schiff's videos where he mentioned the military he has said bring back troops from bases I believe and concentrate on defence more than projection.
