  • what's the size of the runway?

  • If you look at about 3:38 it goes to thermal and you can see gases being vented at the same time as the "train sound".

  • i love america space shuttle is the best,,,

i dont like ussr russia buran,,,

ussr russia is a very cheap space buran shuttle

  • Buran is much better than the American equivalent. It was the first space shuttle to fly and land completely automatically.

  • haha booooooo cheap buran,,,

buran did not going fly many times same as american space shuttle did flying many times than ussr russia,,,

buran shuttle fly with robotics system,,,

american shuttle fly with real people than buran

  • 1:04 for everyone again the landing from the best piont of view!

  • wow can you imagine, going out to space, tootally diffrent place, they renter the atmopshere, and land perfectly right on the runway line, from the hieght, altidude and speed.

  • Its not as though this thing can abort a landing and fly around for another shot is it?

  • I heard they sometimes perform at airshows where they can been seen doing loops, sometimes even inverted beat-ups.

  • ha!

  • nope, this things a guilder no power whats so ever

  • Dude! No fuel left so it cant go around! Thats why it drops so fast!

  • Landing ... smooth as silk!

  • I would love to have a crack at landing that , at that kind of speed, must be a sim somewhere i can do it...

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • I was in the advanced space academy, and the shuttle touchdown speed (sts) is 300 mph!!

  • Lol headtrauma, you can say that, but first you gotta tell where all those rockets are going. ;-)

  • Speaking of head trauma. . . how's the tin foil hat treatin ya?

  • ayyan

  • No, lots of people have. A ton of crews. Look at all of those rockets..

  • What were the vapours coming off the top of the shuttle?

  • they are from the auxiliary power units venting on either side of the tail.

  • what is that sound? it sounds like a train..

  • That sound is the APU's (Auxiliary Power Units). The Space Shuttle has three APU's to produce hydraulic power to enable movement and control of the aero surfaces (elevons and the rudder). The exhausting APU gas sounds like a train. You can see this exhausting at 03:35 in this video.

  • its like the sound a plane landing makes, except much louder because the shuttle is going alooooottttt faster. its basically outrunning it's own sound.

  • Beautiful and amazing images!

  • We love NASA TV too! Thanks for watching. For more real NASA videos, visit Reel NASA!

  • Tnx for post this. I always watch Nasa TV.

  • Why no comments on this? Everyone's too busy watching smut! ya damn whippersnappers...
